Hi Guys,
Just purchased a PPC Techs XDA/XDA II 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Adpter from Expansys after reading some threads here, im noticing I only get stereo if I leave the 2.5mm jack from the XDA not plugged in all the way, is this a common problem or do I have a faulty adapter?
Cheers Baz
I did the same and bought on the advice of that post but only had one channel coming through.
I gave up and had someone who is very handy with a soldering iron and shrinkdown sleeving to remedy things.
He took my XDA headset and cut the earphones off it.
Then he grafted my sony fontopia earbuds in their place and
made an excellent job.
now I am happy but would warn anyone else off the expansys and belkin adaptors as I have them both and neither are any good
:?

can anybody recommend an adapter that does work then?
I looking for something similar, since I would be happy to find a stereo earphones working.
MDA III seems to come from another planet since almost none of the current earphone are working.
Or maybe it's an hardware issue.
any solutions yet?

Pull it out just a little...
I tested out a set of Jabra c220s headphones and found that if you pull the jack out just a bit you get stereo. This happens on all BAs. I read on another forum somewhere that the ink cartridge from a ballpoint pen can be used: cut off .5mm from the cartridge and slip it onto the jack. Expansys has some Seidios headsets that work out of the box though.
I tried 3 different ones until my current one which works perfectly with my xdaiis. Make sure you buy an adaptor with 3 black bands around the pin. I got mine from ebay for 99p plus postage from Hong Kong

I've just post a command for a headset and a 2.5->3.5 converter. Let's wait and see... I'll keep you posted.

yup... I'm using Motorola ROKR 1 headset on to PH20B... and...yes...it has a LOT of bass... so...it's VERY RECOMMENDED if you want "better" headset than the original... 8)
I modified my original headset so that it will compatible with any 3,5mm headsets sold in the market.. it simply by some soldering in the board... it is stated in the wiki, you'll find it there... i'm satisfied now i'm using my modified headset with the original headset of SonyEricsson W800i.. its awesome.^_^
Hi Everyone,
I have been looking for such a beast for a long time without avail. I have an old Jabra BT200, but that's too bulky, and of course, answering the phone is impossible. My Motorcycle is my secondary transport, so I would like to keep the spending to a minimum.
My old HP 65xx phone came with a 2.5mm headset that was easy to slip into the helmet, and I could live with that. The TyTN connector is a little awkward, and when the phone's in the case, the connector is not exposed.
I have seen some specialized products like the cardio scala rider, but the price is more than I would like to spend. I remember at some point that vendors were making neck strap BT adapters that would take in a 2.5mm wired headset, but I haven't been able to find them.
Any of the riders in the group have any suggestions besides the Cardio Scala rider? any help would be appreciated.
Best Regards,
I would like to know as well. Although it probably isn't a good idea to be talking on the phone while motorcycling. Its bad enough people don't see us; we don't need to help them out by concentrating on a phone call.

I ride with a scala rider bluetooth headset. Google it. It is great Works with open and full faced helmets. I use a full face flip down helmet. The microphone boom and head piece clip down to the side of the helmet. The actual bluetooth piece detaches and re-attaches from the rest of it for charging. The voice quality is outstanding. So loud it can not be turned all the way up. Cheers Its the best so far. The only one better is the one built into the helmet. I dont remember the brand of my helmet but will check a repost it.

I will check ebay for pricing(thanks stukes). I'm trying to take the cheap route because I don't ride the bike as often as I would like, and the scala is not a cheap option.
I don't like answering the phone while riding either, but sometimes you have to. I would like to at least have the option so that if it's something important, I can call the person back. Right now, I don't even notice that a call is coming in most of the time, and some have been important.
If I find some suitable solution, I'll post it here.
Thanks again
WARNING....Before riding with this thing test and turn down the volume!!! On your phone select the auto answer function. If you dont turn the volume down then there is a possibility of it being so loud an accident can occur!!! So please take caution until you get use to it.

I know Dainese has a helmet with built-in BT. Its the Airstream Course "Mugello" Bluetooth Helmet.
Scala FTW.. my friend uses one on his sony phone and when I call him I can't tell he's even riding... he uses the stereo phones that came with his phone to listen to mp3s when a call comes in it mutes the music and he uses his scala BT for the call... I'm guessing my 8525 would work similar... tryin to get him to let me test it with my 8525 before I purchase one...
Just got home from work. My helmet is from CABERG helmets. They had the same split full face as mine with a built in bluetooth headset as well. Once again I really like the scala rider headset. Once properly attached to the helmet its great.
I got an I-tech S38. it allows you to use whatever headphones you want (uses standard mini-stereo plug). I don't ride, but if you can wear earbud(s), you could use it.

I got mine on ebay $47.70 after shipping.
I use the Scala Rider, and think it's great. Got mine on eBay for less than ½ the RRP.
Does any of these Bluetooth motorcycle headsets A2DP ? I would like to hear voice navigation from TOMTOM running on my TyTN.
So far I bought headset for full face helmet for $40, it is ended with mini DIN connector, then made conversion to 3.5 jack and plugged into TyTN with 3.5 usb to 3.5 adaptor.
It works, but it will need some kind of amplifier, as I can barely hear it when riding.
Hello,
Anyone know a high street retailer/mobile phone shop that will sell the adapter to allow you to put a 3.5mm audio plug into my herm?
Not bothered about price, really could do with it today due to a trip away (therefore online purchase no good).
I've checked a few websites that are also high street shops, but not found any stockists so far.
Thanks,
Jon
I just bought BlueTrek Levi's and i think that is non-compatible with hero (can use only handsfree profile :/) so im looking for a new bluetooth HF now. What you recommend ?
Price can be 0-40 euros, not from finlands shops (so no "extra-tax" and haven't found any with good price lol), small, long talk time and no 2 plugs just one xD
edit. Can too be on finlands shops too but its too hard to find
Hi Guyz. I'm new on the forum and am about to purchase a universal car audio/gps Head Unit, the Xtrons TR100 10.1" with rotatable screen for my 2013 VW Tiguan. Will the unit retain my MFSW features? Any additional modules or adapters do I need to buy with it? Looking forward to your input. Thnx.?
