I really miss the simple pull down from jellybean 4.1.2 where I just had to have on pull down and I could easily enable or disable airplane mode, wifi, gps.
Now I have to pull down and hit settings to have those toggles enabled or disabled. I find that one extra step annoying but can't find an option in most AOKP roms to disable pressing settings to get to my toggles. Is there a way to change this?

It must be there in display settings. If not just get the "notification toggle" from play store.
Does what ya need and you can chose which toggles ya need.
LIFE! It's what you make out of it!
Swipe down on status bar with two fingers. You'll go directly to quick settings. Also both CM and AOKP have a setting where you can configure swiping down on the left and right sides to take you directly to notifications or quick settings. For example, swipe down on left side brings up notifications and swipe down on right side automatically brings up quick settings. And I think there's a setting to directly display quick settings if there are no notifications wherever you swipe. CM also still includes the old style power widget at the top of the notification bar. If you want it, you just have to enable it in settings. So you see, there are many ways you can make using the quick settings a *really* quick and straightforward process. I find the quick toggles to be better than the old style toggles because I get to it in one step and everything shows on one screen (by increasing the number of toggles per row). No extra scrolling step like with the horizontal toggles. But some toggles such as screen timeout, screen lock etc aren't present in quick settings, so I use a combination of quick settings for all the usual toggles and the horizontal old toggles for the ones which aren't available.

Thanks. Currently I'm still on my 4.1.2 TWRP backup but am trying to transition to 4.2. A lot of features missing in a lot of custom roms and Gapps. Ie photosphere, poor battery economy due to a host of issues (ie unresolved wakelocks) that kind of doesn't make the switch worth it for me yet.
Photosphere will never be included in AOSP ROMs even for Nexus devices because it's not part of the AOSP camera source code. It requires a proprietary Google version of the camera copied from Nexus devices along with proprietary library files. Reason is it uses street view technology and that's Google's proprietary technology, not open source. The Google camera also includes Picasa album sync, which isn't present in the AOSP camera/gallery code because it is proprietary too.
So if you want photosphere, you'll have to find Gapps that include the proprietary camera and libs or a flashable zip of only those parts and flash them to your phone. The standard Gapps package includes a check to flash these parts to Nexus devices automatically, although you should remember that flashing the closed source GalleryGoogle.apk will remove any customizations made by CM, AOKP etc to the camera.
Also, regarding battery, since codefireX SR5 many people have been reporting great battery life using the recommended settings (interactive gov, SIO scheduler, 149-1024/1200 Mhz). Synergye made some changes to increase battery life, and it's showing in the reports of users. People who are still experiencing average battery life with this ROM most probably have old batteries (like me) or some rogue apps installed. New batteries make a world of difference.

Short concise to the point and educational. A lot of it I alreadyd did know except for why the coding wasn't present. I am good on wakelocks etc (see my signature). Thanks so much. Bohoth shukria bhai!

Welcome to Cognition 777! The idea behind this rom is to unify my rom making efforts into a single rom for the i9100 and the i777 with only minor changes between them to make managing two or three roms take the time of one rom. I have decided to base everything on the i9100 stock firmware simply because it has less restrictions, more frequent updates, and way more options when it comes to customizations.

FAQ
How do I enable my phone to connect to Kies?
Disable USB debugging
Setting > Applications > Development > untick Enable USB Debugging
How do I navigate recovery?
Volume buttons are up and down
Power button is back
Home button is select
How do I clear data from recovery?
Select "wipe data/factory reset"
Why don't I see the new download links?
Clear your cache or do a hard refresh (ctrl+r or ctrl+f5)
Is this rom rooted?
YES!
Why is my battery draining so fast?
Testing the rom for less then a day and reporting a battery drain is like sticking your face in a blender and wondering why it hurt. Please calibrate your battery, check your apps usage, etc.
Why is this app not working(FC)?
When updating, tons of things can go wrong, especially with using old data on a new app. If you are getting an FC after updating, clean the cache on the app, if that doesn't work, clear the data. (Settings > Applications, find you app, click the buttons)
Good luck with your ROM, i'd stay up and wait to try it out if i wasn't falling asleep in to my keyboard

v1.1
You must be on the latest firmware (4.03.605.2) to use this ROM. There are several ways to go about doing this but I suggest installing the RUU. If you have already upgraded, flash away my friend.
S-off Installation
Install the RUU, install a custom recovery, flash the ROM.
S-on Installation
Lock the bootloader, install the RUU, unlock the bootloader, install a custom recovery, flash the ROM, flash the s-on kernel. (If you have been debating on going s-off, now is the time to do so. Do that before installing the 4.03 RUU)

Not really a bug but I forgot to change the about phone info to refect v1.1. Just disregard that. You can confirm your version by looking at the dialer. If the back ground it different than the screenshots, you have v1.1. Also can look at MMS convo bubbles. Sense 4 = v1.1.

Q: How do I install this?
A: You must be either s-off or s-on with unlocked bootloader, have a custom recovery, and be on the global firmware to install and use this rom. If you don't know what this means, take advantage of the handy search feature that xda has provided. There are numerous useful threads out there for the Rezound. Basic installation instructions are provided at the top of the OP for s-off and s-on.
Q: Can I dirty flash this rom?
A: If you are coming from another rom then a full wipe is recommended. If you chose to dirty flash and have problems, please don't post your issue. Do a full wipe and reflash the rom. If you continue to have an issue, you can proceed to ask for advice.
Q: Why did you make this rom when we already have several others?
A: My goal with this project was to make a rom set up the way I like it with the mods and tweaks I find the most useful. I believe the masses will agree with my decisions. In conjunction, my intent was to focus on battery life as it pertains to my phone. I am not making any claims that this rom provides better battery life than anything else available. Every phone reacts different to every rom so you will need to test and find what works best for you.
Q: Why did you remove X, Y and Z?
A: X, Y and Z were removed because they are features only used by a few people and there is no need to include it for everyone else. In accommodation for the few people that use X, Y and Z, I have posted Add-ons that will add back features removed on a case by case basis. These can be found in post 4. In addition, you can check the Mods section in post 4 for additional revert files and mods. If a feature was removed that you use and it is not available in post 4, post your request and I will provide a flashable file for you.
Q: Can you explain what was changed with the auto brightness settings?
A: HTC has provided very moderate default auto brightness values. While this is good in high light situations, it is not needed in low light situations and increases the battery consumption. The big beautiful screen on the Rezound is very nice to look at, but it sacrifices battery life to accommodate it. I have reduced the brightness level of the screen over most of the range of ambient light values. The percent change varies for each level but it ranges from a reduction of 4.5% all the way to 66.7%. I'm still searching for those 'magically' values but what I have got so far seems to work very well for the typical lighting conditions the phone will see on a daily bases.
Q: Why aren't my buttons lighting up, did you break my phone?
A: I have turned the capactive button backlights off when using auto brightness unless the lowest state is being used. Since you can see buttons without the lights on there is no need for it and its just wasting battery. However, I have set it up to turn on when the phone is at it's lowest brightness state. This way they can be seen in the dark. The brightness of the backlights have also been reduced when they are on. If you want them off all the time, there are apps in the Play Store that can do this for you. One such app is rootdim.
Q: Your feature list says 'Better HTC Percent Battery.' What does this mean?
A: Every rom that I have used for the Rezound that includes the stock looking percent battery all use the same old icons from older phones. These icons are smaller as they were for hdpi devices. Also the text is small and hard to read. The old icons are either placed in the hdpi folder and the phone resizes them to fit xhdpi or they are enlarged before hand. Either way, this results in a somewhat blurry image. So what I have done is created all new icons that use true xhdpi battery images. I have increased the height of the battery slightly and used a larger font size so the percent is easier to see. In addition, I used the Roboto font since it's what comes with the rom. If you are a themer, modder, dev and want to use my new battery for you work, please don't kang. Ask and you shall receive and give credit where credit is due.
Q: How can I get wifi tethering to work?
A: I have removed the VZW hotspot feature and included WiFi Tether for Root Users. Open the app and hit menu > settings. Change the Device-Profile to HTC Rezound (LTE/CDMA/GSM). Change the Setup-Method to Netd (master). Scroll down and find Routing fix and enable it (box checked). You can also setup WiFi-Encryption if you prefer. If you happen to pay for Mobile Hotspot through Verizon, there is an add-on that will give that back to you. It will also add the hot spot quick setting.
How do I get that clock widget in your screenshots?
A: What you see is my Sense 4 Clock widget. Go to the widgets list and look for Sense 4 Clock. The version included in the rom is v4.2 for Sense 3.x launchers. It is not a "Sense" widget so it does not use the weather info obtained by the HTC weather app. It uses Google for the source. More info about the widget as well as themes can be found in my thread here.
Q: I don't see the beats notification when I use my Play Store app, how do I know it's on?
A: The Beats notification is an apk that is triggered/enabled for the native HTC music player only. Therefore, you will only see the notification when use that player; however that doesn't mean its not working. There just isn't a persistent notification telling you its on.
Does <insert name>'s mod work with this rom?
A: This depends on the mod. Keep in mind this is an odex rom and damn near all mods posted are deodex. However, this does not necessarily mean it won't work as you can use deodex mods on odex roms if you do an extra step. If the mod is made for an older update (pre-global) or changes certain files like framework-res.apk, com.htc.resource.apk or SystemUI.apk it will break the features of the rom and/or cause boot loops. Please post your questions and a link to it if you want to use a mod by someone.
Q: Why wasn't the Facebook app updated?
A: Let's face it. The Facebook app sucks and seems to get worse with every update. There are some pretty fun reviews in the Play Store if you want a good laugh. Unfortunately you have to have it for Facebook for Sense to work. I have found adding the latest version in the rom, causes an issue where Facebook fails to authorize after each reboot. This causes your contacts not to sync until you sign in again. If I leave the older version in, then update the app with the latest build after the fact, this issue is gone.
Q: Why is the App Associations still in settings?
A: HTC is continually fine tuning, if you will, the app associations due to crApple's lawsuit. The global update received a more recent version, From what I can tell based on the changes made to Settings, the newer version has items related to YouTube in it although if you look in the Settings on the phone you won't see it mentioned. Also, included with the other changes is how the Settings entry is handled. Prior, the build.prop edit would remove it from Settings and fix the links. The edit still fixes the links, but it no longer removes it from Settings. I spent a good 4 hours trying to track down an edit that would remove it from Settings but my attempts all ended in force closes.

This is the flashable kernel for S-on users. It is a modified version of the stock kernel that comes with the global RUU. The modifications allow for a couple of the rom's features. Flash this file in RECOVERY. Do not rename it to PH.. and try to install via bootloader. The PH file will be automatically placed on your sdcard and your phone will reboot to hboot for you. Enjoy guys. This has been about 2-3 weeks in the making. Started with making a themed version of the ota then the global update hit and had to start all over. With that said, you can expect a themed version in the near future. If you have previously owned a thunderbolt you might have seen the theme but it was the stock look of a rom port. I made the theme for personal use on every rom I ran on the thunderbolt but I never released it.
Wellll you've convinced me to soff the new rezound and go global. It looks as though you've been extremely thorough with this, hopefully I'll be running this tomorrow.

Left it out on purpose. There are numerous ad blocking apps on the market. Adding host files to the rom negatively impacts some people and its easier for those that want them to get an app than to remove them. But I understand where you are coming from.

I, for one, can't wait to make a backup and flash this. The only thing missing that I see is Ad-Blocking. I hate ad's while playing AB.

You can get the ad blocker from the market. I like the fact its not included because it breaks some of my emails through the browser.

No mirrors please. I pay for mediafire premium so the download should be full speed.
Fair enough. Don't worry about the download speed it flies.
Looks like what I've been waiting for in a rom. Is the dialer themed while in a call as well or just when you dial? Also, is there a mod to make the app drawer text normal size for us older crack flashers? If not, that's cool. This is really a highly polished rom that you should be proud of. Thanks

Yes. Dialer is themed while in a call too. Anyone that has used any of my themes know I don't half ass anything. Lol. As for the app drawer mod, are you looking for page scroll or free scroll?
do we have a built in battery saver software in this rom....is there are plenty of softwares out in market but most of the people are not sure that which battery saver software gives more juice..... thanks

imho "battery saver software" is an oxymoron.
Use BetterBatteryStats to find your wakelocks and eliminate them. If you cannot eliminate them, post your logs here and a dev can have a look to fix it if it is ROM related, or post your logs in the appropriate kernel thread as wakelocks are mostly (not all) related to the kernel, or some 3rd party software you have installed.

Request 4 call recording
call record option on dialer
A few I'd like to see.....since I stumbled across this thread.....
I'd like to see custom home/app drawer and icon customizations built into app settings. (Including color change options.)
Please add torch toggle on double tap of the lock slider, as seen in other ROMs
I absolutely love the PAC-man ROMs but before I decided on the PAC ROM I tryed out all the others I could find and the only feature that I can think of thats missing is a torch toggle on the lock screen. A few of the other ROMs have a really cool torch on/off when you double tap the lock slider. I'm running the S3 AT&T version so if there's any way this could be incorporated in future builds your ROM would officially be the best one out there!!
I want to be able to color the statusbar clock, signal cluster, icons etc. Also want to be able to edit soft keys.

So I searched all over the net and I cant find the answers I was looking for.
I have a few questions about the features on the 4.4 rom.
1. Where are the hybrid options?
2. Why are there fewer battery icons?
3. How to add new pannels?
Also deleting the last icon removes that whole pannel instead of leaving it blank.
Other than that rom is smooth as butter!!
1.Not available, since they follow PA(paranoid android) to release hybrid for pa 4.4 so they can test it on pac 4.4 and merge it..
2.I don't know why are there less battery icons but it can be a work-in-progress since the ROM itself is work-in-progress and not complete, you can find new features here: http://review.pac-rom.com/
3. New pannels? I hope you mean new tiles on status bar quick settings, it's easy to add more tiles or change layout go to settings > pac pellets > quick settings panel > tiles and layout > add (you can add and rearrange tiles in here)

Alright thank you!
Haha yea I guess I should've been more specific about the last one.
On the home page the different screens I referred to as panels. So whenever you delete the last item off that screen it disappears. So my question was if that was supposed to happen and if there was any way to keep them there?

Yes that is supposed to happen in kitkat, no you can't keep them unless you fill the homepage with icons, there isn't much customization options available for the launcher except rows and columns you have to use another launcher for now.

Ok awesome thanks a lot!
Maybe I'm just guily of believing something I "read somewhere on the internet," but I thought KitKat was supposed to have secure element emulation. This was to get around the need for the chip and allow us to use NFC tap to pay via Google Wallet. I also "read somewhere" that this rom had it (CM11 didn't.) But in wallet, it says tap to pay is unavailable.
Of course, I'm running on the latest nightly, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Not having tap to pay isn't a deal breaker for me...I'm just OCD. If there's a feature on my phone that should work, I'll spend an infinite amount of time trying to get it to work (even if it's something I probably won't use!)
Updated bug list
So after using this rom, I have compiled a list of all the bugs I've encountered so far.
Since there I can’t post in the dev thread yet I'll just post them here.
Since the May 1st build:
1. .gif files don’t load properly and will occasionally freeze and force close app
2. Certain websites take a while to load and occasionally freeze and force close app
3. Widgets don't resize properly. For example if you expand the tiles by on to make it 5x5, a widget that says its 4x1 will turn out to be 5x2
4. NFC still requires a restart to turn off
5. Still no camera but I'm patient :fingers-crossed:
So far these are the major ones I've found but I'll post more if I find them.

1, 2 points need the latest graphic driver, you can find the flashable zip here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51035856
Driver needs to be flashed on each nightly as it gets replaced each time with old driver..I won't recommend flashing it same time as you flash rom because it will cause more issues..first boot rom and the go to recovery and flash the drivers..
3. Widget issue should be reported on pac-rom forums..I don't know if it happens on cm11.
4, 5. Known cm11 issues, No fix as yet..

Hi,
I'm curious what features all of you use in ROMs or what optimisations you would like to see (CAF, a custom toolchain, etc...). This just crossed through my head while I was working on MR and a project that I will release soon. Do you guys use Xposed, do you use a custom launcher, what features do you use in other ROMs, do you use a specific DPI that you feel is more optimal, do you like custom branding or do you like the stock (if the former, feel free to make some. I'm not good with that stuff), what should I name it (I was thinking something Star Wars related), is there a custom kernel you'd like to see, do you use a custom HAL, do you use the stock dialer and messenger, etc...
This will be a long term project with no release date that will be concrete. Hopefully you guys will provide me with feedback. It will be specifically for the X as I have no plans of switching devices for a long time.
Here's another thing too. I'm doing this to teach myself. I think I brought it up once before, but I will make stupid mistakes and I hope a few of you can help me with it. I really do appreciate it. The main goal is for me to familarize myself with the device tree and with Git while providing you guys with a solid ROM
Thanks guys,
RJ

Hey,
for me are the importants things:
-layers or cm Theme
-customizable status bar
-switch back and recent
-make status bar invisible (fullscreen/immersive mode)
I use stock dialer/messenger and so on, snapdragon camera and also xposed for some tweaking. I use a custom kernel if my rom is not fast enough for me and the custom HAL with 4k recording too.
I hope this helped you,
regards from the "bad-english-speaker"
Good post, (p.s i hate star wars themed roms) pls no
auto brightness button on pull down bar
some apps like sony apps or something (so it's different to all the rest)
Well, stability and battery life conquers all. So to be precise , I like oos with dark theme and yeah custom kernel . I wish I could use Sultan's fix for camera but with that I can't use manual mode. Most of the features of cm can be added through gravitybox . Nova launcher is quite good and smooth, so I would suggest not to put much effort on launcher customization.
I see that you have taken a lot of interest in Kernel optimization and tweaking, so may be that's where you should start. Wish you luck for your projects.
Interesting thread, personally, as long as the rim has these, I'm happy :
Buttons configuration (especially hardware ones) with double and long press actions.
Layers (or cmte, but I've read layers are lighter?) in order to have a nice dark ui.
Ram bar and close button on récents.
There are so many other things that can be useful like use volume rocker to answer call, flip phone to mute call, switch to 2g when connected to Wi-Fi, enable max brightness (with custom kernel) for few minutes when in sunlight, ambient display but not during night (I hate my phone to light up in the night if I try to reach a water bottle or a kleenex lol) or gestures like swipe up on screen of to turn on and unlock the phone.
But most of these things are possible using Tasker.
But if you ask me, there are so many different (and not so different) roms out there, that I think to get glory, a new one would maybe need some awesome exclusive apps like SMS, camera, or maybe just good optimizations.
The less features in a ROM - the more stable it is. That's why I prefer Stock or CM Stock ROMs. But, anyway, the most useful features in my opinion is:
1. Playback Control (Prev/Next track with Volume buttons) - any ROM without it is almost unusable for me. Taking the phone out of the pocket each time you want to skip a track is just unbearable.
2. Double-tap to sleep - if dt2w is present, than this is a must-have feature. Peaking at the phone without even touching the power button is quite useful sometimes.
3. Viper4Android - Yes, I understand that this is a completely opt-in feature but I found myself installing it every time on every phone. The sound is just not right without it anymore.
4. STOCK Dark Theme - for some reason, every other "dark" theme developer out there thinks that theming Phone, Google Play, Messenger and other apps is cool. No, its not and its usually a weak point of any theme, because when the app gets updated everything goes to hell. I will make my own dark theme someday in a spare time. Probably based on OOS theme, because this one was actually cool. At least Android N will deliver it built-in.
Would love to see EAP-SIM authentication for WiFi in a ROM. I've tried a few and some seem to support it but I always get an "authentication error" when I try to connect. (Living in Singapore and trying to connect to SingTel WiFi, if that's any help!) So yeah, EAP-SIM support would be awesome to see in a ROM. Thanks!
And all the best for AOKParadox!

See my AOKParadox thread. I will implement the stock dark theme at least until one based off of OOS becomes available.
All I want to see in a ROM is its ease of operation and to easily see the important details.
1. Status Bar - Accurate Network Speed Indicator, Dual Clock (timezone), Date (with day of the week) & Gestures such as double tap, slide and quickpulldown
2. Hardkeys & Tristate Keys - Action Assignment (screen off, screenshot, power menu, kill all apps, last app, etc.), Single Tap, Double Tap & Long Press
3. Lockscreen - Disable Power Menu
4. When Screen is Off - Double tap to wake & Music Controls gestures
5. Others - One-handed Keyboard Operation (i'm a lefty), Ram Usage Status in recent apps

I would agree with this, along with Layers support and multi-window functionality from Android N previews since we have the ram for it.
