My girlfriend got an Xperia U. After the GB 2 ICS update Wi-Fi breaks all network connections even from all other devices like my own cellphone and notebook.
It's this a know problem?
I've forbidden her to use Wi-Fi
Sony tells me to repair my firmware with SUS or PC Companion or so. This doesn't fix the problem. It also went back to Sony (three times) but without a fix. Only three downgrade
Does anyone know what problem it could be and how to fix this? I'm not known with Sony development so can anyone link this to the right posts?!

i am facing a problem while updating my x-ray to android 4.0.4
i connect to pc, i click update then it starts updating after the update is downloaded... it shows phone is updating then my phone switches off and it shows green light indication and
on my laptop it shows found new hardware SEMC FLASH DEVICE and after 2 secs my laptop hangs...

i tried 2 to 3 times the same thing happened all the time.
can any please tell what is the problem here..
i also reset the phone and tried but not able to solve the problem.

Did you follow the instructions for the update process? What program are you using to update your phone? I suggest you use SUS (sony update service, download it from the official website here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
The phone should be turned off. Follow carefully the instructions the program will give you.
Than report back if you have any other issue.

I've flashed 4.0.4 on top of 4.0.3 without any issues

Is your laptop running on Windows XP? Because I am facing the same problem as well, so what I did, is run the update on Windows 7 PC.
Maybe you should try that

I download Sony update software and tried I still had the same problem so..
I formatted my laptop re- installed drives and then tried to update now there was no problem... now my x- ray is running on android 4.0.4

i've update my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman to Android 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.587) using Sony PC Companion
After the update, I attempted to root my phone by using this Guide: talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41119
the phone was rooted successfully but now i have a serious problem. i cant connect to my router using WiFi. i've searched in google and find some Apps and some solution (in xda and other forums) to solve my problem but the problem still not resolved
i've used following Apps:
WiFi Manager
FXR WiFi fix and rescue
i'm also restart my router and check other routers but just one of them was worked and i can connect correctly
please help me to solve this problem

i'm just updated my XMP from GingerBread 2.3.4 to ICS 4.0.4 through PC Companion. But, there is wifi problem which when i connect it, it's connected but download rate of the wifi become 0 (no download rate). How to fix this problem?
Are you sure it's not the router's problem since i also did the update with no problem....
My xperia u touch screen was not properly working, even it's harder to type sms(sometime i need to click twice for enter the text), So i repair twice it via Sony PC companion but same thing happened again and after the repair wifi also not working it frequently shows obtaining IP address...,
Anyone please tell me the solution for both of the problems???
Hey Guys .... I am new to this forum .. hope i will find the solution to my problem ... I am using Sony Xperia U . my WiFi used to work fine on gingerbread 2.3.7 ... I updated it to ICS via flash tool the WiFi was still working fine on it ... but then i did not liked the ics update so I downgraded via flash tool ..then the WiFi is not able to detect my neighbor's WiFi ... while my Iphone is able to detect it and connect to it ..... my XU is detecting other WiFi s ... but not detecting that single WiFi ... i flashed it ... did a factory reset but no luck ... so i upgraded it ICS via flash tool again... but it is still not detecting the WiFi ... so I downgraded it again .... if there is a problem with the neighbor's WiFi device then how is my iphone detecting it ... I tried lots of apps like WiFi-analyze Wi-eye and lots more but they are not not showing it either ... i also added it manually in my WiFi list but it says not in range ... please help ...
Is there any possibility that the Neighbour has blocked your Phone from accessing his Wifi ? Maybe with a mac id block or something ? I cant think of any other reason that the issue should arise. Unless the network is an Adhoc one. Stock Roms dont allow connecting to Adhoc networks. Possibly you installed a mod or something in your previous rom to support Adhoc ?

my previous rom was the stock one ... so in the stock rom it was able to detect it and connect to it ... even in the ics which i had installed it after that .... and last night my phone was able to detect the WiFi and connect to it ... but now it is not detecting it ... and i don't think that they had blocked me or something ... and they don't even have a mac ....
If thats the case, then I think only possibility is h/w issue or maybe loss of signal (not related to your changing rom).. Maybe someone else might know how to solve it Sorry I cant suggest anything better Maybe someone else might have a clue
