Hello! I've got a 920 Vodaphone-branded phone that bricked today, and was looking through Navifirm for a nice ROM to flash on it. The thing is, I've been using it on AT&T for a while (I wasn't the one who purchased it, so I don't know if it came unlocked or if someone had to unlock it) and don't want to be locked out of AT&T. What should I look for in Navifirm to indicate that it's a ROM which will work on AT&T? Or are devices unlocked from the hardware?
Thanks!

The ROM that you flash has nothing to do with SIM-locking. Just like how you cannot unlock your phone by flashing an unbranded ROM, you also won't be able to lock your phone by flashing a branded ROM.
So it's safe to flash a ROM of your own choosing. It will not lock your phone
Hope this helps!

Thanks! But if that's true, what are the SimLock files for in Navifirm+?

That I'm not sure. But people haven't reported sim-locks when flashing their phone. Otherwise many of us wouldn't be here

Hi
I need stock rom, Three (3) Sweden.
I would like to downgrade but I don't think you can do that from 4.3 right?
Found a link to one version but link was broken.
Problem is that I removed the provider lock a long time ago. But for some reason it came back when I upgraded to 4.3.
Then I bought a sim unlock code from my provider but that won't work now. Probably cause the stock rom I use now is international.
Any tips?

You need to quote the original poster not me.
Also don't go giving the post when you don't understand it.
Read up on pit files and why they are a last resort. Theres a reason its called rescue or emergency firmware. Only used when the phone is soft bricked and all else has failed.

Thanks. Yes it's Tre. But as I understand it I will brick my phone if I try to downgrade from 4.3 so I'll probably just stick to 4.3 unless you know something I don't?
Anyhow, I think I will have to have the shop fix it. I managed to find the stock rom now and reflashed it but the unlock code I got from them still don't work. So I don't see any other option, I need to have it unlocked and I allready paid for it.
Thanks anyhow.

I can't use that one. It's pre-rooted and for Korean. I am swedish.
And I agree, thanks for trying to help but if you don't really know how it's best you don't try at all.
Hello Everyone,
I want to ask if anyone has any experience with unlocking the LG G2 Mini. I have reserched a while and it seems to be there is no way of unlocking it for free. A link to a trustworthy, not too expensive website for unlocking codes would be helpfull!
Btw: just flashing a new custom ROM doesn't unlock the phone.
Thanks
Flash an unbranded stock kdz.
Then, whatever ROM you want.
Your carrier probably added the lock on the bootstack.

Thank you, i 'll try this out. Is there any difference in a kdz build? What componets are integrated in those files?

LG releases its stock ROMs in kdz format, which you can flash with LG Flash Tool.
I believe it contains all the partitions on the phone (though I could be wrong about this).
I flashed the flashable stock rom zip version 20b but still doesn't unlock i can only use one sim

That zip doesn't contain the bootstack.
Only the ROM.

Sorry for being so late with my response. I flashed a kdz-Stock ROM quite a while ago now and it didn't worked out in my case. So the lock seems to be somewhere deeper in the phones software.
My research wasn't very successful because everybody just want to sell a unlockcode not give an solution :/.

Are you sure it's unbranded?
If it has your provider's codename on it, then it's branded.
Flash one with the codename of the country (or general area) you live in.
What is the name of the kdz you flashed?

I flashed 'D620r10g_00.kdz' and D620r20b_00.kdz'
I am pretty sure they are both unbranded. As you probably can read out of the name - one is KK and one is LP.

Try flashing the actual bootstack from the Original Dev section.
If that doesn't work, then the lock is somewhere else.
Maybe in the partition that holds the IMEI. I don't know.
I can't help you much.
Flashed the Kitkat baseband from this thread (D620r):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/bootstack-kk-l-unknown-baseband-imei-t3142805
But unfortunately it didn't helped. This Provider knows how to let his customers pay .
Thanks anyways for your help and patience. Appreciate you!

it won't brick your phone. you will just have stock Samsung firmware without any bloatware. Don't listen to the guy above lol. But no it won't unlock it. You must get the unlock code from your carrier or a third party before you flash another firmware or it won't be able to be unlocked till you flash back and enter the code in on your carriers firmware.
Hey all,
I've done some rooting in the past, so have knowledge but it's limited comparatively to the community. I bought an Unlocked Snapdragon S9+ from Best Buy and the AT&T FirstNet service for first responders only works for AT&T branded devices. I wanted to try and flash an AT&T image on the phone if possible. Is this possible? Can anyone offer some guidance on how to accomplish this?

I don't know what you mean by "did the carrier firmware". I'm looking to wipe and re-flash AT&T firmware on my device - it currently has an AT&T SIM card in it.

Yep, you can flash the AT&t firmware onto your unlocked device. You would have to download the firmware and then flash it with Odin, you can check the general section to learn more about this and we here can help you through it.
The other thing I was wondering is that I assume that FirstNet works on the AT&t firmware. Technically your phone will still not be an AT&t phone according to its IMEI number, but firmware-wise it will be just as an AT&t phone after you flash it.

I understand. So get ODIN and the AT&T firmware and just flash? I've done rooting before so familiar with ODIN for the most part, just wasn't sure if I needed a specific firmware version based on having an Unlocked device or not.
And to your wondering thought, FirstNet does work on the AT&T firmware and they WOULD still recognize my phone as an Unlocked device(by IMEI) as per the FirstNet tech support agent I just spoke with. However, I'm hoping that having the firmware would make the device more compatible with the FirstNet service

You just need the latest AT&T firmware that you can find(BRK2 I believe, unless the latest pie firmware has already been posted somewhere), and you will need the patched version of Odin that will allow you to flash a different firmware than your device came with. It seems like AT&t firmwares can be hard to find for some reason but there was this thread which has not been updated I don't think: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ck-official-attoding965usqu3brj5-s9-t3866823. But it looks like that would at least get you over to AT&t firmware and then you could get OTA updates up to current hopefully. You might want to ask in that thread for further instructions on firmware and how to flash everything properly. You would want to use CSC instead of HOME-CSC, to wipe and fully set up the phone, and there is something which I don't know about called USERDATA, which I think might need to be found and flashed also.
Anybody have stock at&t firmware for s9+ ? At&t appear to have released it OTA to their phones :
https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...89?make=Samsung&model=SamsungG965U&gsi=zzc41v
Also need userdata, apparently. I'm new to flashing stock stuff.
I'm going to ask the same question, as I just noticed this release. I'm using an AT&T branded (and locked) S9+ on Cricket, and apparently, I will not be receiving OTA updates... When the files are available, I hope someone posts here. Thanks!
why dont y'all just flash this and be done with it?

Thanks for your suggestion. However, that isn't the official build from AT&T. The Build Number I'm looking for is G965USQS6CSH5.
