I'm not sure where to post this sorry if I added an unneeded thread all. However, I needed to know if the Lg Optimus C from Cricket will work using some of the other Optimus Roms such as Optimus V and such. I know they are the same phones different carriers, I also know the source codes have to match for the roms to work (or something like that).
I am asking this question cause I plan on buying the Lg Optimus C, however, I don't want to buy the phone if I can use custom roms and themes and such with the phone. I know I can boot the phone into clockworkmod recovery, Just not sure if there are any custome roms on this site that I can use with the phone that will work with Cricket service.
I do have slight experience using clockworkmod and flashing roms using my Zio M6000 Cricket phone, but haven't messed with an Lg Optimus C at all yet.
Any answers to my questions would be greatly appreceated. Thank you.

CM7 ported to LG optimus C
here is a thread concerning the port of AOSP cyanogenmod v7 to optimus C (that is a gingerbread ROM) if you are interested, that is the only thing i have seen here.
Hello,
I just got a Droid Razr M off ebay and found it came with the OTA installed that permanently locks the bootloader... I was hoping to be able to run Cyanogenmod on it but there don't seem to be any current ROM's that are able to run on the stock motorola Kernel (i'm assuming this is the problem?)
I'm basically totally new to modding ROM's and android at this level, but I would be interested in trying to port Cyanogenmod for use with the stock kernel and then installing it through safestrap... I do have some experience with linux and programming so I may be able to get this to work. Anyone know any starting places or if this is an impossible project? Is this even possible? I've heard that Cyanodenmod requires an unlocked bootloader, but then I found an old CM rom that works with the stock kernel. If this is possible, will certain functionality be disabled or what will result from a not-fully-compatible kernel?
Any help or advice is appreciated!

You can't flash any custom ROM on your P769 unless your bootloader is unlocked. Unlocking the bootloader on these L9's is almost impossible... On the newer versions of the L9, LG encrypted the bootloader. So unless someone figures out a new method to bypass the encrypted bootloader your stuck with it being locked and not being able to flash any custom rom.
There are a few ROMs for the P769 that work with a locked bootloader thought and would be your only option for a ROM other than 100% stock.
I use the Kumakan v3 themed ROM on my L9. There's another one, UltraRom which is based off of the kumankan ROM and a CM9 ROM, all are for 769's with locked bootloaders.
To install them, your L9 needs to be rooted, have BusyBox installed and you use the L9 recovery installer to flash cwm recovery.

If you already have CWM installed, then you're all set to install the custom ROM. Just make sure to run the Nandroid backup from CWM before the upgrade (better safe than sorry).

It means you have replaced the recovery to one that allows you to upgrade your ROM among other things (CWM that is).
Regarding custom ROMs - that's the big question: There are nearly no custom ROMs for this device, or rather to the L7 II series. If you browse the Android development section, you'll find some custom ROMs, but they are all based on the current 4.1.2 one. There's also an MIUI ROM for your device, about which you can read at the end of this thread. According to other threads here, LG has announced it would upgrade the L7 II series to KitKat somewhere round August (which should be any time now), so I guess the best thing to do would be to wait for it (as I do).

ooh thanx man , i was really confused about this , i hope they announce it soon
I've already rooted my LG Lucid 3. I've had this phone for a long time now and i know its already outdated, but I've never been able to find any custom roms for it. Its really annoying after waiting so long to see if any would pop up. I just want a stock android experience on this phone, without all the disgusting LG software. Please help? If you know of any compatible roms i could flash to it, that would work too.
