Is it possible to remap the useless search button to recent apps?
Yes. There are multiple roms that allow it and you can also change it in the keys files.

I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876464 but I don't know if it applies to us with TB...

Is there an option in SuperNexus 2.0 to use the volume rocker to move the cursor? If not is there a replacement keyboard someone could recommend with this feature? So far it is about the only thing I really miss from the previous ROM I was using. Thanks. -- Bud

Kii keyboard has that option. Never used it, but it's there. Probably my favorite keyboard right now.

Now that many of us are s-off I'm guessing there will be more inquiries like mine. Lots of aosp ROMs don't have changeable hardware keys. I'm hoping us as a community can come up with a solution. Hopefully making it into a flashable package. I know there are files in the system folder responsible for the mapping. I am not able to go pay myself as my laptop needs a new charger. I'm hoping we can come together for a solution on this.

I got the menu key working now. If someone who is on PAC or a cm10.1 based ROM who has their recent apps mapped to menu and long press to recent apps could post projector-keypad.kl in system/usr/key layout I can have this fully solved
