Hello, my friend had an sgs2 and it will shut off by itself and then just buzz intermittently. He would have to do a battery pull to try to reboot it. This is a stock non rooted phone. Any tips from anyone? Please help. Thanks

No PUN intended, but saying your friend being on ATT does not help. As stated in the earlier post. There are different variation of the this phone. In order for anyone to assist you we have to know which version of the phone.

Follow this guide here. Yes it does unroot but it's not a big deal at all. Just root it again. I also didn't lose my SIM unlock by doing this either.

just one problem when i install this rom i dont get google play. i can't find a way to download it. it says i am no authorized phone to have it.
but i know it's just something i missed with the rom flash.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you seriously shouldn't be flashing anything to your device until you're able to take the 3 minutes it takes to read the OP of the thread dude. It very clearly states that you need to flash gapps along with the from itself.

I saw the gapps thing but was unsure what it was , I thought it was a bunch of apps that task found useful. On my phone its labeled Google play. So I didn't understand but now I do and its installed and I love this from. Thanks for the help.

Perhaps you should have bothered to read that this is the SGH-I777 forum before flashing, not the SGH-I727 forum? Flashing anything meant for I777 on I727 will kill the bootloaders and hardbrick the device. JTAG time for you - mobiletechvideos.com can probably help you.

You need a jig! google it. like was mentioned before mobiletechvideos might help you.
Next time don't be in a hurry and LOOK at the right forum. Its common sense, chief. You did something in haste and you're wondering why something went wrong!
