How do you clean your hero?

hi all,
im just would like to get your idea on how you cleen your hero which has teflon and no teflon? i usually use a damp cotton or cleaning fabric to wipe it to remove grease, oil and dirt. any tips? is your white hero starting to get a yellowish color?
No - because i have a soft gel cover for it which ive had on it since the 2nd week ive had my white hero.
like i clean all my electronics stuff: with a microfiber cloth. since i got the mf pouch for the hero i don't think i have to ever clean it again, besides from that i would use a dry mf cloth. if that is not enough take some warm water and moisten the mf a little bit. has been good for computers, screens, laptops, mobiles etc...

Apparently HTC are recommending Mr Clean Magic erasers to fix that.....(JML Magic erasers for those of us in the UK)
I've got a graphite Hero so I don't need to worry about the case becoming discoloured.
For the screen, I use a microfibre cloth (that came with a pair of glasses) for polishing up the screen. Works a treat. Anything else that sticks to the screen easily cleans off with a damp cloth followed by a polish up with the microfibre cloth
+1 for the microfibre cloth. With the coating on the screen, it works superbly well.

When I had a white teflon one I got a curry spilt over it. Only thing that would bring it clean was Cif creme.
yeah i read that you shouldnt use water. did anyone try using a damp cloth? would the teflon coating be removed from it?

I concur with the micro fibre cloth. I have a small sheet which I carry with me 4x5" which I regularly wipe my phone with great for eye glasses etc too.
sandpaper (also fixes the slippy syndrome)... or if i have the odd stubborn curry stain i use the trusty blowtorch with a paint scraper.
my phones is mint!
Sandpaper? That doesn´t sound too good to me. Wouldn´t advise anyone to "clean" his or her Hero with sandpaper.
I actually use my trouser leg or my shirtsleeve to clean my (white) Hero - works perfectly.

Same thing here, nothing worked, I gave up but after 3 days it magicly disappeared probably a secret property of teflon's anti-curry formula

[Q] Best thing to clean screen with?

Hi. Just a quick question as I bought a new case and it came with a screen protector but no cloth. So I wondered what's best to clean my screen with? Perhaps a glasses cloth cleaner?
Any lint free microfiber cloth.

Just rub it off on your jeans. That sounds rude.

phillips screen cleaner gel for plasma & LEDs come w/a lint free cloth that dont leave streaks.
+1 to your own suggestion of a glasses cloth. I do as most above and just rub it on whatever I'm wearing, but if I do have a glasses cloth at hand then I'll use that and it's about the best thing you can get, as that's what it's made for

I put an screen protector and always clean the screen with the thing to clean the screen protector.
Sorry for my english
Spectacles cloth is lint free.
Normal tissues are definitely not lint free.
I just use a solution we use at work for our computer touch screen , or wipe it off with my son's muslin cloth.
I dont use screen protectors never liked them..
whats the point having gorilla glass if u put SP...lol mine is butt nekkid since day 1...no scratch whatsoever...if its oily or full with fingerprints just wipe using spectacles cloth..
p/s: i just use melkco flip top cover thats all....

Screen protector protects the screen from scratches, gorilla glass is not scratch immune, even dust can scratch the screen or the coating on the screen.

How do you clean your screen?

Barnes & Noble says not to use any moisture: "You should clean the VividView™ color touchscreen using a lint-free, micro-fiber cleaning cloth. Do not use any cleaning chemicals, abrasive materials or any moisture to clean the color touchscreen, since this may damage your device."
Cleaning cloths don't get ride of oils, grease, etc. I'd like to use a damp tissue, but I don't know if it's safe. Anyone know what's best?

I would say avoid using water if you can, but what you decide to put on your device is up to you. If you do decide to use water I would say don't use an excessive amount.
Also you could try a coffee filter to wipe your screen {NO GROUNDS} I know it sounds weird but I use it on my tv and monitor and it works well.
I use a lens cleaning cloth on mine, it takes a few tries but it comes clean until I touch it again

I use a microfiber cloth and do the warm breath on the screen.

I used a semi damp alcohol patch just before I put the screen protector on. I don't think it caused any issues. Screen came out looking like it just came out of the box and now I don't have to worry about it.
Now, I don't think I would recommend doing that a lot, or often, but I don't think it will hurt once or twice.

Warm breath and sweater sleeve, usually. I'll break out the microfiber cloth if i need to really work some smudge or lines off it.
Used Bounce Dryer Pad. Anti-static also.

Microfiber cloth has always worked for me!
I put mine in the dishwasher over night. Comes out sparkling clean....
at work we have these lens/screen wipes which say they are 'anti-static/anti-fog lens/screen/lcd cleaner'. it's basically an alcohol wipe that has been designed 'specifically for use on plastic, polycarbonate, glass lenses and computer crt/lcd' screens. I've used those a few times and they work really well.
otherwise i just use my shirt or pants leg.
I use Monster brand screen cleaner and microfiber cloth. I spray the cloth not the screen. Any paper product may scratch the screen, since it is wood based.
However, after I am done cleaning, I find the screen to have a weird textured feel to it. Not sure what it is or how to describe it.
Micro fiber cloth and a little contact lens solution works fantastic.

Best way to clean screen?

What's the best way to clean the NT screen? I keep getting fingerprints/smudges, but I'm not sure what's safe to use... Any experiences would be awesome.
Also, I just read that putting rain-x on the screen makes it keep fingerprints off? Seems kind of weird, but anyone try this?

Some sort of cloth based material, not paper, preferably micro-fiber.
If that isn't enough on its own, use a small amount of a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar put on the cloth and wipe the screen.
I personally use a 50/50 mix of di water and methanol. Spray a slight amount onto a clean micro-fiber towel and wipe. I use this method on all my lcd screens. Di water is better than tap due to low mineral content. I work in the semicondutor industry so I have all the di that I need.

Yea, sorry, I should have specified di (distilled) water when mentioning it.
I have some laptop screen cleaner that's like a blue spray gel...will that work?
Fyi, DI water != distilled water. DI = deionized, whereas distilled is just condensed steam.
For this purpose, distilled ought to be expensive enough.
DI water, on the other hand, was upwards of $50/gallon last time I was lucky enough to need to flush my laser's cooling system.
HTH.

I bought a 50 Pack of lens cleaners (the ones in individual packets) from WalMart for less than $3.00.
Rain-X huh? might try it.
Nice thing about working in a clean room I have a endless supply of DI (yes di-ionized) water. I didn't realize that it was so expensive to buy. Maybe I need to start smuggling some out and selling it on ebay. lol

I prefer to use a damp tissue, but B&N says not to use moisture when cleaning the screen.
I purchased the official B&N anti-glare screen protector for $20 (eek!). I got it mainly because my daughter somehow manages to get food and who-knows-what-else on the screen. B&N says not to use moisture when cleaning the screen, but that's the only way to get the crud off. So, I got the B&N protector.
Anyway, despite comments online about people destroying both sheets in the process of installing them, I installed mine without any problems. First I made sure the screen was completely clean with absolutely no dust on it. Then I peeled back just an inch or so of the removable film, pushed the top edge of the sheet to where the case meets the screen, then slowly peeled back more as I pushed the sheet onto the screen, by bending the sheet as I worked my way down the screen. No air bubbles. No dust. No dirt. It's perfect and it looks like it will last forever.
I use Monster ScreenClean and a microfiber cloth to clean all my electronics. A big bottle is about $12 at Walmart. It's the only Monster product I'm willing to buy.
if you have young ones. explore the power of baby wipes. strong enough to clean a baby ass yet gentle enough to wipe a NT clean
i wipe it till its clean of all debris/smudges then dry with with a soft tissue

+1 on the baby wipes. Especially the costco ones. Make sure they're not the adult all purpose wipes that are kinda soapy. Works wonders with all marks and grease and no damage to the screen/tv/monitor etc.
I used a cleaning cloth that is made for cleaning eyeglasses. Worked wonderful!
I also used a cleaning cloth (microfiber) designed for eyeglasses. Then I immediately installed an anti glare, anti smudge screen protector I bought from Amazon for $9. Haven't had any glare or smudge problems since then.
I can't recall the policy about linking to/recommending products... so I won't.

I too use the Monster Screen Clean with the microfiber cloth that came with it. Just one squirt on the cloth (it's barely damp) and the smudges wipe away very easily. I keep another, thinner, microfiber cloth behind the NT (sandwiched with the case), and use it for cleaning on the go.
As long as there is only general finger marks (ie oil), then I found breathing heavily to fog up the screen then wiping over with a soft tissue or micro fibre cloth or clean t-shirt does wonders.

Can't remove smudges on screen

There are many smudges on my Moto E's screen.
I can remove them by wiping with a wet cloth, but when I wipe the water droplets with a dry cloth the smudges come back
Should I get a replacement?

Thanks for your replies! This shouldn't happen though. Does this happen with all of you or should I get a replacement?

idk well they aren't exactly smudges.. my hands are almost always clean. (always clean when I use my phone)
they're like...um.. muddy (brown?) smudges maybe. they seem to happen when I use my phone. they also look really dirty on white backgrounds.
I can remove the smudges easily by wiping them but it's really annoying when on white backgrounds.
Also, the touch seems very... well it isn't smooth. The touch isn't exactly smooth yea. I don't know if this happens with all phones with Gorilla Glass?
Is this normal?
Should I get a replacement?
