Hello everyone. I have quite a big problem with the audio on the Galaxy Vibrant when flashing to JB 4.2.1 with CyanogenMod 10.1. Even with bare CM10.1, and whether with or without installing the gapps package, the audio (phone or music) would sound slower-paced and significantly distorted.. I guess the best way to describe that is with an example: a song sung by female vocalist would sound deep and a bit slow, and it would sound like that through the speakers or earphone. Could it be that the phone doesn't have enough processing power or appropriate audio driver? At first I thought I blew the speakers but then audio works just fine if flashing back to stock Froyo. I even flashed CM 10.0 stable version to find the same problem; in fact CM10 was even worse because in addition to audio distortion, the keyboard driver didn't work. CM10.1 seemed to work ok except the audio is not acceptable/usable. After a few times flashing back and forth I'm convinced that something is wrong but, being an Android noob I can't say what its problem is. I haven't tried ICS yet but kinda don't want to go with ICS.
I also notice that once flashed to CM10.1 the home button doesn't work anymore.
I looked around a bit and even googled for similar problem but I can't believe my Vibrant seems to be the only one with the problem. With the collective knowledge of smartphone gurus here, would someone please lead me to the light if you know what the problem is. Thanks a lot.

So mods im a nub and if this is better off in the minibamf area thread then lmk. I watched the video...anyways, to the point. I have flashed minibamf. am running an mr 2.5 radio....everything works ****ing SPECTACULAR (especially love how minimal, snappy and pretty the nexus tetras 3d live wallpaper is...call me a fag i don't care) but the right (or left) channel will be playing at an *inaudible* level....on really good monitors when run through an amp i can actually get them to output at a decent volume even, the unbalance in the right/left gain though still remains...Ive flashed several "Audio Fix" zips and flashed them now such as the
Additionally i flashed both this
imoseyon_leanKernel_v3.5.11AOSPtest-audiofix
AND
imo-rhcp audio fix
while these flashes improved speakerphone volume and even added an eighth of a db (or so it sounded) to the other channel, they did not solve my problem. I understand that I'm using unofficial software and as a beggar and am not dev'ing I kind of have to take it or leave it...unless someone has another suggestion? Ive been scrounging the all day and have been getting hints and talk of fixes but no luck so far....If anyone has any information to help or possibly point me in the right direction it'd be siq. It seems as though a lot of people are posting similar complaints and many of the threads are unresolved. I tried the sound fix sensation lastly which allegedly fixed *all* of the audio issues for AOSP based roms (not sure if minibamf is even AOSP based or what that was.) But no that just crashed and rebooted my phone....please someone help. Im an audiophile and i have this thing loaded with all of my my music...this is hurting right now.
The strangest thing happened to me, after I left the house I brought my headphones with, and for the first ten minutes or so it was still playing in mono, I then boarded a train that was very loud and out of nowhere the bitrate, volume, and second channel turned on. I guess those ink bugfixes DID work after all, strange that it didn't reveal itself until I was in a louenvironment, makes me wonder if the phone needed to get thrown in a loud environment in order to activate the drivers? If someone could offer explanation....would love to know.
Hi all,
I am using my gs2 with my Sony headunit (bt2600) in my car. It's great for calls but the quality while playing music is poor. It seems to always be slightly distorted and crackles at any volume combination on the phone and headunit. It has no quality problems using an auxiliary cable from the headphone port.
Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix?
I'm using the standard unrooted XYKI4 rom but will happily change if another rom would solve it.
Thanks
This is the famous A2DP problem. No solution has been found until now and Samsung hasn't done anything either.
So you can use CM7 or MIUI where this problem has been fixed, or else wait for a stable ICS...
Ah ok, thanks for the reply. I'll need to decide whether to wait for Samsung or take the plunge and install a custom rom.
It's been fixed on the nexus. So there is a chance it shall be fine on ICS. I've battled this issue on my Sony headunit but cm7 and MIUI works a treat. Take the plunge but be careful.

My girlfriend has a GS2 with a Pioneer headunit without any problems. I have my GS2 connected to my Toyota in-car satnav headunit and also there bt audio sounds fine without any distortion.
Btw I am on 2.3.6 (KI4) stock with Siyah 2.6.3 kernel.

I just got a BT2800 and don't have any issues with the sound. It is better with the BT volume from the phone turned down a bit though.
I'm using checkrom v4
I tried ICS myself, and the problem has indeed been fixed. So that's some good news.
If I remember correctly, it was a problem in Gingerbread, Google fixed it later on but Samsung never bothered to apply that particular fix - at least up to the XWKK5 firmware.

Guys Im experiencing two major annoying problem which I have no Idea where it came from...
1. Once I Listening to music with headsets if any1 msg me or any notification come up the music will play on Speakers for a second and again come back to headphones.
2. again the time of listening to music while Im browsing or tapping on something the Music volume Increases Suddenly alot for a short time and again comes down.
(for example I open another application while music plays in background, or I only on or off anything like wifi, it cause music volume increase for a second and lower down again)
It really starts to suffer me I have tried many things such as using different Kernels, Flashing Roms, Reset Factories, Using Different Players...
HELP!
Is this happening with regular headphones on or a bluetooth headset of some kind?
I dont think you can do anything about the message alert apart from putting it in silent, but have you tried turning down or off your system volume?
I have this same problem. Like if I'm listening to music and lock the screen, each button i press for my pin it will go louder for that moment i press a number. Then, when i open a program, it goes louder at that point as well. Really strange.

So it only happens using SuperRom? I misunderstood your first post and thought you had tried other roms. If that's the case, you definitely need to wait for the rom dev to fix it.
As for ICS, it's almost here. I'm running ICS (AdyScorpiusMIUI) right now and it's running very, very well. But I would wait until something stable is released.

Im not sure its the SuperRom problem or not coz Ive been experiencing the same issue using Juffo Rom.
Yes, MIUI roots are great without any doubt but too bad non of them are supported for i9100G at the moment, only few roms are out for my model. and we cannot install those roms belong to i9100.
I installed this tiramisu ROM with the aroma installer and for the most part it is working great. I would have put this question in the tiramisu thread but as a new user it wouldn't let me. My issue is that my headphone jack seems to be reversed, as i get no sound from my speakers until i plug in some headphones. My Jack works fine on other roms so i would imagine it is an issue with something i did while installing tiramisu. Also i find it very difficult to get service in a Lot of places, again not an issue with other roms. I am not sure if i have a modem issue, a kernel issue or just a plain old incompatibility issue. I really would like to get to the bottom of this so i can continue to use this amazing ROM.
I Have SGS2 I9100 and have problems with Bluetooth working when I'm calling. Bluetooth works when I listen music and i can hear touch tones when pressing number before dialing but once i dial the Bluetooth is silent no voice on nothing. I can call and hear people when i call them without Bluetooth.
I have installed following ROMS with same result in the end: Carbon, AOSP Neat, Resurrection remix and Slim kitkat.
I have no idea where the problem lies it seam like every 4.2+ rom has same issue. i have checked my system folder and rw--r--r is there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also having the same issue. When connecting to my car, bluetooth music works , just the phone doesn't. As a phone call is initiated you can hear sound for a split second then it cuts out. I am currently on the latest Resurrection Remix. I have searched the development forum and see that others have the same problem, but just like this thread, nobody seems to have a solution for it.
Any help would be great
Thanks for your help

Same exact issue. I tried Cyanogenmod, Omnirom, and a couple different versions of each (stable, M build, nightly), and nothing worked. I did a full wipe each time, and that still didn't help. I even tried apps like Mono Bluetooth Router to no avail. I finally went back to stock JB 4.1 since bluetooth is a must for me.
In case it matters, my phone is branded as a I9100M for Bell Canada. It's supposed to be the exact same hardware as the I9100, but could it possibly be slightly different? I see cliff03 is in Canada as well. I can't tell for sure, but it seems like the problem affects some users but not others. Maybe that's why?

Okay, I think I figured it out. While I was testing I flashed a stock I9100 (not I9100M) ROM, and since then my bluetooth is now working on all custom KK roms. This is the I9100 ROM I flashed (I9100XWMS2):
