[Q] Automatic Turn Off Issue! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before 15 day I Upgraded my Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXLSJ which is the Official Leaked Version for my phone. The upgrade was successful, then I tried to root my phone but my phone didn't start. So I reinstalled (flashed or whatever) my phone to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (The same that I upgraded to) again using Odin3 v1.85. My phone started working, but when I used my Camera i.e. while taking picture the my turned off automatically. My phone turns off as soon as the flash occurs. The same thing happened with video mode i.e. my phone turns off automatically when the video is recorded to 30 seconds approximately. While using WiFi to synchronize my contacts & calender, my phone turns off automatically. My phone turns off automatically even when I start a game. So I thought that the Jelly Bean version that i have downloaded might have some issue. So I downgraded my phone to the stock Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 XWLPW (that i have downloaded from somewhere), but the same problem exists.
So please help me to resolve this issue because it is really irritating that I can't use my camera, wifi or play games in my phone!

did you do the factory reset before that, just in case?
format all, clean cach etc,?
have you tried the other spanish JB version?

Yes, doing factory reset was in the instruction of the Official Leaked JB that i had downloaded!
No, I have not tried any other JB versions.
But right now my phone is in its Official Stock ICS 4.0.4 that i have downloaded

My phone freezes when I update apps using google store and when I watch videos on youtube's app (both when WIFI is on).
Sometimes, it also freezes when I just turn WIFI on.
The phone freezes for about half a minute and then it goes back to home screen.
What can I do?
Do you thing it's a rom related problem?
Thanks!

Hi!
It could be a ROM related problem.. what particular custom ROM are you on? I doubt it's a Kernel related problem, there's still a possibility..
1. try wiping dalvik cache/ caches / better yet restore factory settings, if it doesn't work..
I suggest you flash back to stock firmware to get it all sorted out and from there, you can start all over..
I hope this helps, cheers
This is a translated ROM (based on this) that includes some mods
The problem has started a week after flashing this rom.
I tried wiping dalvik cache / caches, but google store still makes my phone freeze.
Can you detail more about flashing back to stock firmware?
Goto SamFirmware.Com and Download Firmware Compatible with Your Device.
Download odin3 v1.85
Install Samsung USB Drivers.
Put your phone into Download Mode by Pressing Vol down + home + power button.
Put Code file in PDA
Phone Named file in Phone Section
CSC Named file in CSC Section and click Start.. It must work... You can find some another tutorials by Googling
Peace
Hit Thanks & It will Disappear

And after that, the phone won't be rooted and I'll need to install the new ROM using Odoin, right?

Problems after flashing

Hello guys
I was running Android ICS 4.0.4 on my Galaxy S III international version (GT-I9300) with BB version of I9300XXLFB (KSA). I recently downloaded the official Samsung firmware of Jelly Bean 4.1.1 with BB of I9300XXDLJ1 (UAE), which is a different country (UAE vs KSA) provided by SamMobile.com, which supports Kies as well. I have no root, my device status is "Normal", flash counter is "0" and every thing else is fine.
After flashing the ROM, it looked amazing and there is really performance improvement noted.
But the device kept restarting, and when I connect it to Kies, it show that "Access to C:\ProgramData\Samsung\DeviceProfile\Cache\GT-I9300\version.dat denied", and Kies shows a message implying that "Software upgrade is not suppored by Kies 2.0".
I re-flashed the ROM using Odin3 v3.07 and restart problem seems to be fixed, although it restarted many times initially after the re-flash.
But Kies problem is still not fixed.
I searched the forums here and some solutions suggested uninstalling, cleaning registry of Kies, and reinstalling Kies would fix these problems.
An interesting point to mention is that, although I re-flashed using UAE ROM, Kies still shows that my device is "KSA" version.
Any idea how to fix?
Unfortunately, the restarting problem has recurred and everytime I switch on the device it hangs and reboots
Any idea?
factory reset may be necessary

That's really hard
Well, I tried something stupid:
1- I cleared cache.
2- I flashed back to the stock original ICS 4.0.4 (SamMobile.com firmware) of KSA region (WITHOUT wiping any data)!
3- I flashed again with JB 4.1.1 of UAE region.
It seems to be working. Until now, there is no hangs whatsoever, and the device did not reboot.
Hopefully it works, I will keep you updated.
But Kies still shows that it does not support firmware upgrade on the device.
Unfortunately, I had to restore back to 4.0.4 and wipe my data
My data have been lost
Samsung is a bad company, week customer support!
I will have to wait and wait and wait for their official update to KSA region
Sh*t on everyone who told me in another post that updating to another country's firmware is not going to affect Kies update and will not cause problems. F*ck them! You answer without knowledge!

[Q] WiFi issues on Android 4.1.2

Hello!
I've updated to Android 4.1.2 XWLSS (via Kies). It's stock official firmware for Cosmote Romania.
For one month I had no issues, then suddenly WiFi started to behave strangely.
I activate it and it turns itself off after 2-3 seconds. Other time I press the WiFi icon and it becomes pale green for a second then it goes back to gray (disabled).
After this it automatically activates after some minutes...
I've performed a factory reset but no result. What should I do?

[Q] Problems after updating to JB 4.1.2 on a i9100P (Orange)

Hi All,
I have a galaxy S2 with NFC, the I9100P on the Orange network (UK)
The phone came with Android 4.0.4 and recently an official update has been released based on JB 4.1.2
I updated the phone to this stock 4.1.2 and the problems started...the phone freezes a lot, mostly when typing (even using the stock keyboard) plus it overheats around the area where the camera is (mostly after a reboot)
I read about the Media Scanner causing overheating but I did not find a solution so far. I am not even using a SD card any more, as someone pointed out that could be the problem.
The phone is completely stock so I do not know what to do. I am thinking about installing CM 10 and give it a try. If even that fails, I will re-install ICS since I never had any problem with it before...
Any suggestion? Has anyone else been experiencing the same problems?
Thanks
Did you try to clear the Data/Cache of "Media Storage"? Or try to remount your sd card.
