I was wondering if someone could or would help me port the droid razr m boot-animation to the OG I have always liked the droid series boot-animations. The file is attached thank you very much.
Let me see what I can do
Edit: testing it now on my device to make sure it works, standby...
Edit2: works just fine. Trying to upload now but OMFG, something is wrong with my upload speed on my network. Will have it posted here for you shortly.
Here you go, remember to backup your current bootanimation zip in case you want to go back to it or if this doesn't work for some reason.

Sure, put it up there, that's cool. I used Boot Animation Factory created by XDA user despotovski01 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540
It's a great tool for pushing the boot animations straight to your device as well as resizing them easily once you have the frames rendered. Not sure what the problem was for you. Maybe something in your desc.txt file? Here's what I used:
768 1366 15
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1

I wanted a Retro BIOS boot animation for my Transformer Prime. I seen that there was one for the OG transformer and several for other tablets and devices.
Anyway I edited/redid and Frankensteined this together. I hope that you get as much joy out of it as I am.
to install rename the zip to bootanimation.zip and put it in /data/local/
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
You can test it without rebooting too!!!
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
press ctrl+C to kill it once it completes.
Once again Enjoy and feel free to comment
UPDATE: I got everything working It works as it is intended to. The attachment has been updated.
For those of you that wanted to see what it looks like Danny made a video that you can see in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21838570&postcount=15
Thanks Danny.
You mind adding video of it?

I only made it a flashable zip, so that everyone can have it without installing CM.
A simple guide on how to make it look better, by resizing (I used Paint.NET):
I can't try it out right now but there should be a file in that zip called desc.txt. Open it up and change the first two numbers to 240 320. That will resize the animation to the phone's resolution.

Seriously? Is that so easy? It'll be blurry I think... I had the same idea changing those numbers, but again, (as you can see in my signature) I don't have my phone to test it. Anyway, I am going to release a BETA then.
This is my first resize ever, I have no idea.
Thanks.

I have found how to do it, the problem is how long will it take...
I just resize the width to 240 with aspect ratio and then I just resize the canvas size height to 320 and it's done. I am using Paint.NET.
The problem is with part1, there is a CyanogenMod 9 label in the bottom and this will be gone if I resize everything this way. After the white "flash" on part1, maybe I can put the "skating android" a little bit higher so that the label will be visible...
Can you suggest me anything else?

Yup, it is really that simple. I did it just now in a matter of seconds.
To be honest, it is better if an animation is the right size to start with as it runs much more smoothly. Also, if you are resizing from a different screen size ratio, bits of the picture can get cut off. Try it on this and see what I mean.
But yeah, for the most part just changing the numbers in desc.txt works fine. And it's quick too!

Urgh... This rule must be new, seriously. I've got the same warning for another similar post today(well 16 hours ago) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674506). Don't worry, I shall remove everything related to rule #13, not only from this post, from all of mine, don't worry iridaki, I just need some time to do this, it's 5:35 am, I go to sleep. I'll never drink frappe after 9 pm again. If you see me writing again this late at night, please give me a nice ban. xP

Hey all! You will like this one. I made a old computer style boot animation, which not only looks like the old-PC BIOS boot, but It has the correct info about the Galaxy Tab 10.1, so it looks very real. Additionaly, it also has a Windows 8 style animation after the first one ends. currently, the way you install this is to copy it to /system/media with root explorer (replacing any potential current one). Here is a link! https://www.dropbox.com/s/rsagq9d47z11a4e/bootanimation.zip
P.S. Screenshots are uploaded below,

I could not get this to work......
I tried what you said to do, as well as renaming the file to match the original, but it when I boot, it will show the 1st Samsung screen only.
The sound from the second stock animation still plays, but the video is gone.
Nothing from the new boot animation shows up.
Thanks,
Jake

First off let me start by saying backup before trying this as I probably suck more then you do!
WARNING This bootanimation may contain too much intergalactic wrap travel so don't complain to me if your tab starts energizing random aliens, bending from the sheer force of the warp nacelles or a miss aligned deflector array. Any other problems you encounter are not mine and you should consult google or samsung if you can't get your Galaxy Tab working.
This Star Trek bootanimation is of the Enterprise D going to wrap. This is from season 1 episode 6, Where No Man Has Gone Before.
The original author of this has been lost in the space time continua but this animation has been teleported into our time by roundeye1987. You can find his original thread here. I made my flashable from JTDo's and his thread can be found here.
If you don't use the flashable rename Original_StarTrek_bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip and move it to /system/media/.
Flashable_Original_StarTrek_bootanimation.zip
Original_StarTrek_bootanimation.zip
Because I don't have the orignal video I went ahead and built animated gifs. I built these at gifninga.com so color and speed are off but you get the idea. Made them a little too big so I had to throw them up on my web server.
