I've seen a lot of users around the net looking for "how to root the Alcatel OT906y"... including me... I did this in Windows 7 X64
Download SuperOneClick from THIS FORUM
Download Alcatels Android Manager (includes almost all drivers needed)
Download the Android development kit for Windows
1st you must have installed the Java Runtime (JRE) for windows X86 and x64, any version works...
2nd Install the Android development kit u downloaded last
3rd Install Alcatels Android Manager
4th Enable USB DEBUG in your phone (settings/applications/development)
5th Connect your phone let the drivers install for themselves.
6th Open Super One Click and click ROOT sometimes it asks you to install an ADB device and sometimes it doesnt (if it asks install it, disconnect your phone and connect it again).... let it do its magic and you're all set.
There you have your Alcatel OT-906y Rooted
Root alcatel ot-906
I have alcatel ot-906, android 2.2 froyo, and now I want to root my phone to up rom android 2.3 gingerbreak. Please pro help me. Thanks a lot
Hello. I've been trying to root my ZTE Kis since yesterday, and I keep failing. I've tried rooting programs like SuperOneClick, UnlockRoot, etc. and the method with Android SDK/installing CWM via command prompt.
There is one problem, though. When trying to install ClockWorkMod, it gets stuck on "waiting for device" - the same happens when using SuperOneClick. UnlockRoot just says that it couldn't get shell access.
I think it might be a driver issue, but I've installed and reinstalled them many times, tried doing it on 3 computers (2xWinXP, Win7) and still - doesn't work. I really need to root, because there is so much bloatware on my phone and it takes loads of RAM, almost making my device unusable and very slow. Please help...
Hi everyone
I am still trying to root my Trio stealth g2 tablet. I need to update the OS on it to something newer that can use google play and the apps I have but first comes rooting probably.
Root with Restore by Bin4ry has been used, yet all it says is "please connect Device...", along with superoneclick but all it does is freeze up and stops responding every time.
I tried something called framaroot but it ended up being fake and started putting icons on my tablet so I am doing a factory reset.
Any help is appreciated. I have no idea what to do next.
Same thing when I tried it with my linux laptop, nothing happened
I got the bin4ry rooting process working with wine on Linux but it still says to connect a tablet by usb.
The tablet does show up now on the windows computer if I use a different cord. And I downloaded the driver from the adbdriverinstaller.exe but the rooting software still does not work.
Hi there!
I'm a citizen of India and I recently bought an Indian manufactured phone. This phone is the Karbonn A3+.
The specifications of which, I can't give you since this is my first post. Now, coming to rooting this phone, I've tried EVERYTHING. And, when I say, EVERYTHING, I mean it. I've tried, Universal Androot, z4root, Framaroot, Bin4ry, Rootx, SuperOneClick, and the old traditional cmd method by pushing busybox, superuser and all the other files onto the device.
Now, I ended up realizing that my phone's drivers weren't on the manufacturers' website, and were nowhere to be found on the internet. Hence, I downloaded an application called PDA Net + on my phone, and got the corresponding computer software application from their website. That gave me PDA Net for my computer and once I plugged in my device, it installed the following drivers :
1) USB Composite Device ; 2) Android ADB Interface.
The device is yet not recognized by the computer and only when placed on "Mass Storage" can it be detected for file transfer. Sometimes, it is detected to some extent but on some applications (such as bin4ry) it says "error : device not found".
Desperate need of help. Thanks.

I haven't thoroughly searched for a root tool for the A3. I will tomorrow morning. Any idea other than this? Because, if this doesn't work, does that mean I am stuck with an unrooted device?
I have an Alcatel One Touch POP 7 Tablet (T-mobile) and I was wondering if there are any ADB Drivers for this tablet. I just want to use Android Commander on it so I can add apps through my pc, without installing from device. I went to official website of Alcatel under support, and the drivers there don't let me install it on my PC. So does anyone know or where can I find the drivers. A link would be nice.
Thanks!
