[Q] Downgrade from Gingebread to Froyo Samsung GT-B7510 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated the firmware of my Samsung Galaxy Pro (B7510) to gingerbread using odin. Now I need to downgrade to froyo.
I have found the firmware at sammobile but I am not sure about what to do now. I mean, I know that I need to use odin to do it.
The thing is that I already have tried to downgrade it, and I bricked it, even I had to revive it using J-TAG.
So I don't want to brick it again so I want to proceed very carefuly and sure about what I'm doing. That's why I'm asking you before doing anything.
I have used this tutorial last time (when I bricked it):
aandroidapps.blogspot.
com/2012/06/downgrade-b7510-from-gingerbread-236-to.html
[the link to the tutorial is splitted in the 2 lines above]
It's a correct way to proceed? or should I do something different?
Thanks in advance.

Galaxy ACE GT-S5830 Help With Removal of Branded Firmware

Hi peeps
I have bought a thr33 Galaxy ace. Ive used an unlock code so i can use any sim but im wanting to update and remove the stock branding if its possible. Ive spoke to another guy who said to use titanium. So ive rooted the phone and used titanium to remove all s/ware i can see as apps on the phone but i still have the thr33 logo on start up which i want rid of and id like to install a newer f/ware. After rooting ive tried to update thru Kies with official f/ware but the phone loses its usb connection when trying to update.
Phone details as it stands :
f/ware : 2.2.1
Baseband : S5830NEKA3
Kernel : 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
Build : FROYO.XWKAB
Its is rooted.
Ive got some iphone JB experience and i can follow instruction no problem so if anyone can just point me in the right direction as to solve my problem id be very grateful.
Thanx in advance
avoid kies. it would do u more harm than good. use odin to upgrade to gingerbread.
heres a good tutoral with screenshot
u can use other firmware, not just kph like stated in that tutorial. but i u really wanna follow that tutorial make sure its odin complete package, not onepackage. and i suggest using blackhawk rom
btw on 6th step on that tutorial, u'll probably just see "downloading" yellow text on screen, not "an android robot digging with a shovel"
and on the blackhawk rom thread, ketut already pointed howto install his rom, but without screenshot.
Thanx so much for your help before I use them I just want to check that I wont have any problems with my phone being thr33 branded ? If theres a chance of bricking because of the branding what should I do before hand ?
Used the Tutorial. the blackhawk rom download didnt work. Im pleased to say that i followed the tut to the word and its worked for me no problems. My phone was rooted but i didnt change anything b4 this update. My phone was branded and it is now NOT BRANDED after using this tutorial. I had to change the language from russian to english. Search youtube "how to change language on galaxy S". I also had to update my carrier settings. im with giffgaff and theres an app on the android market for apn update. i used wifi to download and update. My phone is now up and running, ive just goto to repload all my apps. Thank You
Just a question, you bought your unlock code?

Need help with unrooting can´t find any guide...

Hello guys, first of all, happy new year
Im searching for a great guide to unroot my Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 P7510, but i can´t find a guide with a clear way to solve this or i find several guides but every guide is different, so i´m very confused what to do now.
I purchased my Galaxy Tab 10.1 P 7510 in the Netherlands, but i live in Germany and now i have to get it in the original State like i have purchased it. Im not sure which stock official rom i have to download, on samfirmware.com there are two Roms, one is dated with june and the other one with july: http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p7510.htm
So which one do i need? What does csc mean ? I also saw this on the xda forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167250 But he says he does not recommend it : "Pre-release TOUCHWIZ rom, not recommended!"
I rooted the tab with this method from galaxytabhacks.com : http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-root-galaxy-tab-10-1-the-easy-way/
But this method seems not to work i think : http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/ Many people say that they are not getting official updates andymore or cant update to touchwizz, but touchwizz was always on my tab.
Im really afraid of bricking my tablet so i need your guys help.
What i understood is that i have to install a stock rom first of all with odin or clock word mod recovery. For me personally CWM is easier, but i have no clue which Rom to install, because the roms on samfirmware.com are .rar !
And then i have to flash to original recovery with odin? How to do that?
Also many people say that they have still the superuser app after unrooting. Whats with that?
i hope you guys can help me. thanks already for reading....
Hey I unrooted as I had to send my tablet in for repairs. I flashed my nandroid backup and then used my root access to delete super user and then unrooted and used stock android recovery to reset user data etc.
Check out this link for how to unroot.
Having a nandroid aka cwm recovery backup makes it much easier.
http://www.galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/
I used this link that you said didn't work successfully. What seems to be the problem for you?
Sent from either my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi or Motorola Atrix 4G
Thanks. But as i said on that link is only the ota rom without touwhizz and also i cant find my backuo i was sure i made one but i cant find it.
Ah this is so sick

if you wan't to upgrade you don't need to unroot, just flash firmware trough odin (addicted to your country)
also to unroot just flash with oding (stock firmware) and wipe data/factory reset and done,
threads are everywhere in general just look around

Since this topic is started might aswell use it instead of making a new one...so my question is:
From what I've read, in order to install CM7.2 on a Galaxy S2, you also need to install a custom kernel...so if I did all that, and want revert back to my original ROM and kernel, I just flash a stock ROM from Sammobile? Or the Kernel will remain the custom one (if so, how do I change it back to the stock one)?

Nope your kernel won't be left until you flash a Rom which has no kernel, but all Samsung roms out there have kernels inside the flashable tar or zip, you ain't smart if you don't provide a kernel which is made specially for the Rom

[Q] Unroot Tab 10.1n Wifi 7511 German Version

Hello xda,
I'd like to unroot my Galaxy Tab 10.1n Wifi 7511, but by using search and google, i was only able to find guides for Unrooting 7500 or 7510.
So here goes my question:
Can I just use a 7510 Unroot Guide, or will it install the American OS, is it any different anyways? Will it work?
Next possible Problem is, i might by accident have deleted the Backup of the StockRom i made before first flash. Will i be able to restore it to stock somehow? Please help me!
Thanks in advance

[Q] Get rid off 3 (three) brand to get jellybean

Hello XDA
I've been doing some research on my problem on dozens og forums, but I still haven't got what I'm looking for.
The problem:
I have a danish 3 (three) branded GT-I9100, which doesn't allow me to get the new android 4.1 update, as they haven't infected the update with their 3 junk yet.
I'm not using any of their applications or shortcuts, and would very much like to get rid of everything that has something to do with 3.
I need to backup the stock firmware in order to keep my warranty if something goes wrong, but I haven't been able to find out how to do it, because my phone has a very strange kernel: 3.0.15-1114882 [email protected] #3
I hope someone can help me. I'm not completely noob, i've been rooting my previously android phones without any problems, but I just can't figure out how to do it with this kernel.
Best regards
Morten

O really?
Start here https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+install+jb+on+i9100.
Then go to the official i9100 JB thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487".
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
1.just flash the nordic jellybean.
2.you dont really get a "standard backup".what you would do is just reflash the firmware your on now (remove yellow triangle etc if needed) then send your phone for warranty.
3.if your phone ever got totally bricked, it wouldnt matter what rom your on if samsung couldnt boot it either to tell.
4.so get the nordic jb rom from sammobile, flash it with odin, root with philz kernel.read about efs backup and nand backup and spockys thread about simlock...lol

First you need to find out if your phone is network locked. Theres an app for that. (search xda/play store) the same app will be able to unlock it for you too but you will need to root your phone.. see my signature for your best option as its root with stock recovery. Your next step go to sammobile.com and find and download your current firmware from there. Then find a jelly bean rom I'm using nordic but search and see what sounds best to you... There are also custom roms you may wish to choose (wannam, jellybam, there are many) find one for you with the search box or browse the forum for them. there are custom kernels as well (jeboo, philz, there are many) find one for you as above or use what your rom choice is packed with.
I cant recommend enough using mobile odin (Play store) will cost you a couple of your currency but its worth every penny.
LASTLY AND VERY MUCH MOST IMPORTANTLY DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE 10000000% HAPPY TO DO IT ONE SINGLE MISTAKE AND YOU'LL BE BACK HERE ASKING FOR HELP TO UNBRICK IT.
Read these before you do anything... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1826497

But how will I find the firmware I'm currently on? My warranty is spoiled if the phone isn't carrier branded,
as I have to hand it to my local 3 store to get them to send it to repair.
Perhaps my question should've been more like this:
How can I backup my branded firmware on my galaxy s2 from 3 (three)
Perhaps I'm a bit noob afterall, as I haven't seen that answer in your post or the others posts.

You havent seen it because it doesnt exist.I dont know how much of a noob you are, but you go to sammobile and get the stock firmware you are on now, and flash that if you are sending your phone back for warranty.
Eg.Im using spanish jb rooted because UK jb rom not out yet.My original software was I9100XWLPT (which is UK unbranded 4.0.4).
So if Im sending my phone back, I just flash the LPT rom from Sammobile; and check no traces of root are on my phone.
So, what you think a backup is/means, is the same result as just flashing the stock rom your on now.
You can check or wait to see if someone can confirm what level of, or if kies can make a backup of your stock rom, as I dont use kies or havent seen anyone using it.They just use odin.
