[Q] S2 no baseband/imei - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before anything i must say that i already tryed reflashing through odin a complete firmware ( CSC+MODEM+PDA)i9100xxkpa(ics) and tryed the method involving the galaxy s 2 repair app from the market
What can i do ,i want to try flashing the stock orange romania firmware on it , i dont know how it got like this ,i only know i received it with the flash counter triged and without any baseband or imei

That's nice, always check the device you're being sold to. Good deal at least?
My advice to you is to flash a ROM and get a clean start, no pre-installed BS by previous owner.
First off, you're gonna have to retrieve your IMEI, check under the battery and write it down.
After you power it on, dial *#06# and see what numbers pops up, write it down.
Check if both numbers are the same.
If they match, you're good to go. Time for good ol' xda reading before flashing and what not.
If they don't match, report back so we can get your IMEI back.

@gastonw - It belongs to a friend , it has no aseband ,and it shows no imei
I already tryed to flash it (clean) with a stock firmware , any suggestions other than that ?

What happened when you flashed that ROM? still no baseband?
Before flashing anything you/he need/s to get the IMEI number back.

Im at the second flash already (original roamnian orange ) the phone was orange branded but i received it with the counter trigerd so you know someone else maybe played with it before me , i flashed on it the gingerbread and still no baseband , but the odin process was failproof.
One thing that i noticed is that the phone get hell of hot unde the camera (where i think is the chip that handels the gsm) i saw it on a samsung pdf
If interested i cand send it to you (i dno if im allowed to post it here )
I repaired in the past a s1 with the same problem just by reflashing a firmware but this one dosent go that easy
Im concious that i need to recover the imei but i dont know how , i want to try it from the first step ,recomend me a good firmware to start with :|
And thanks for youre time and help greatly apreciated

Okay, if it gets hot near the camera turn it off and let it cool off for a bit.
If you can, give me the IMEI info you/he's already got (under the battery & *#06#).
I can help you, but you cannot keep on flashing like there's no tomorrow, just chill out and we'll sort it out sooner rather than later.

If you give someone on an internet forum your actual IMEI, you need your head read. You do realise IMEI's are bought/sold & phones 'rebirthed' ? Don't give your IMEI to people on forums, regardless of what they might be promising you.

and the code for versions info says the folowing , phone :unknown (im talking about *#1234#)
The phone get hot when i turn on the screen and atcualy using it like to browse through menu , not when i flash it .

Okay then, you've got a generic IMEI.Try this
Actually, it gives you a blank (geez, I really gotta get some sleep), no generic IMEI. Get this app and try it out.

Im gonna try after i come back fro mthe gym ,gonan report if any progress is made

i9300 Not registered on Network after Jelly Bean update

I accidently posted this on the wrong forum - maybe som one here can help.
i9300 was fine - tried to upgrade to the Jelly Bean and now I've a very pretty paper weight.
I restored it to the firmware that was on it but Im not sure it's the original as I've a feeling it was a grey import that the shop sold me - so it may have been flashed before.
I've tried a few different firmwares and I get either No Signal Logo sometimes and then I get al the bars but phone not registered on the network.
I've tried everything I can think of - I still have a valid IMEI - but the serial number has changed to 00000000
Any thoughts woudl be appreciated

I have the same problem. I can't believe this I have never had so many problems flashing a rom. First bootloop then media scanner going crazy and now not registered... How to fix this

probably do a full wipe by using this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832326 and try again..
Unless its the actual update for your individual phone you are likely to have wrong CSC and Modem .

Nope turns out the SIM is out since I asked for a new SIM and completely forgot about it all good now. Thanks

That would clear it down to nothing but the basics - so would it just be a matter of finding a firmware for this region Ireland and then reflashing?
Thanks
hi tearaway, i have the exact same problem with you. i just flashed my ICS-running i9300 with the new JB official stock firmware yesterday with Odin. everything went well, no errors. but then i can only see the phone says "emergency calls only", and when i try to place a call, it says "not registered on the network". the IMEI is still the same i think, i compared it with the one at the back of the phone. but the serial number is now 00000000000. is that what you have? have you found a solution to this? i appreciate your time.

Anyone got a solution to this problem?
I just got mine too, updated my i9300 from ics to jellybean using odin, afterwards its not registered to the network ever since :crying:
some people told me about getting root 66 but i have no luck looking for it
and will a full wipe with a stock recovery solve this problem?

[Q] S3 "not registered on network"

Hi guys,
i'm an italian boy that has a galaxy s3 with a problem: i can't call or send messages because on the screen there is "not registered on network"
i do nothing, my phone is genuine...i didn't try to change rom or to do something...the problem is appared suddenly.
How can i fix the problem? imei code is intact and my telephone operator didn't block my phone or imei...
i know that in this forum there are some topics about this problem, but it is very difficult for me find them...
help me please...i haven't assistance...
thank you
Look for the serial, if it starts with 00000 or something like that, you nees to use Ariza Patch.

If it helps...
...my wife had this problem last week. Phone was saying that it was not registered on Network. Looked around on the net, checked settings on phone and found that if you turn the phone off for a few minutes and back on, it re-registered to the network. Very basic, don't know why it did it, but it's now OK

This is the problem: imei code is ok but there is "not registered on network"
About the other solution, i'm going to try it but i don't think it will work for me..
Is there a final solution? It is impossible that we can't solve the problem..
Thank you all..

After reading this forum, it looks like the phone has changed its IMEI after using ODIN. I now have an IMEI that starts with 0049. Help anyone please?

i got it fixed but i will tell u how it happened to me so u can connect the dots with ur problems ,,
i was on omega rom v49 but i wanted to return to stock and un root (4.1.2) to do some things i had a problem while restoring the cable disconnected but i started the process again and everything worked fine except for the network i couldn't call and when someone calls me it gives him that my phone is ringing and i got nothing (be aware u may have got many calls)

I just flashed TEMASEK's CM 10.2 v14 now, and lost my network connection.
I still can connect to wifi though.
IMEI number is still there.
Baseband - I9300BUEMD1

My apologies, I was a little nervous.
From what I now understood, all i have to do is flash the attached modem (modem_RIL_CWM_I9300DDEMG2.zip) , correct ?
Edit:
Weird, suddenly the signal is back. Any possible explanations?

It seems you have a custom ROM (Revolt JB) on your device. That ROM is not based on Samsung's ROMs (hence the crappy camera issue for you). So Kies is useless too.
To get back your old ROM, simply download the appropriate stock firmware for your device from www.samsung-updates.com or www.androidfirmwares.net, extract it and flash via Odin. Don't know how to do that? Check out the stickied guides here on XDA.
P.S. Being a newbie is not an excuse for not searching or reading. So stop being one and start learning. :good:
Good luck! And feel free to ask questions if you get confused.

Don't worry mate. Odin v3.x shows blue colour, while Odin v1.xx shows yellow colour. Which version did you use?
Good to see you're reading stuff and finding answers on your own. :good:

Wow.. that was fast!
You can root it to remove bloatware mate.
yeah i googled the blue screen.
I thought thats what my mate was originally was doing. root/in it,he said it'd get rid of l bloatware on it and my battery and stuff will last and run quicker.
I was reading up on bloatware but i havnt got a sd card to do. Ive only had the phone few month and 16gb is fine for me so not bought one.
Slight problem tho. it wont rotate to normal screen. it will rotate 90 to the side, then to the otherside but it wont go back upright. Never had that problem last time :/

I had the same problem and i appreciate it if you could tell me if u did find a solution to the matter please
i'm waiting for u =)
Please post your baseband version. You most likely don't have the correct modem. They specifically recommended to use or be on the XXBMD6 base before installing the rom in the Developer thread.
No Network. SHUCKS!

Hello! I have Samsung Galaxy Trend S-7562, which was probably made in Malaysia. I got it as a gift. I wanted to install KyleOpen Rom and did install but I missed to be on XXBMD6. There is no network since. Later I again downloaded and went on XXBMD6 and again installed KyleOpen Rom. But the network didn't appear. I am so frustrated. My parents are not going to buy me a new phone which is very sad.
I went to costumer care of samsung and they said they are not able to fix the problem. I think the network problem is because of the wrong Kernel and Modem I am having currently. So are there any expertise who can help me. That will be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can't just flash a rom based off of that. You need to either flash the entire firmware or you should just be able to grab the modem from the firmware, but probably best just to do the whole thing to make sure everything is set up as it is supposed to between the modem, bootloader, etc.
What should I do now?

Thank You! Vaibhav. Are you sure that it supports S7562XXBMD6 baseband? If so, the only thing I have to do is download this baseband and flash it through Odin, right (ticking the PDA) ?
Plus, In the board after removing the battery there is "S7562_C" printed. I think this my phone and there is NOT "Duos" printed on the top on right hand side on the front of my phone. I can't post the url due to some restrictions so here's the link: www (dot) techinsights(dot)com/DeviceProfileSF_AustinParts.aspx?TeardownId=1438
So can you guys assist me from the basic what should I do to get my network signal back on?
I appreciate your reply guys. Thank you very much.

So that means I can NEVER have network back again in my phone? As a "Senior Member" and all your experience what do you suggest me to do? I am so fu**ed up, mann! I just need to figure out what stock rom does it accepts with correct baseband right? Oh god!

A sign of relief.
Okay! A little sign of relief. Thank you es0tericcha0s and I will hit that "Thanks" button  Okay! So even though someone send my phone from Malaysia and I'm using it on Nepal. I should install the Chinese firmware because my phone is S-7562C, right? If Yes! I will instantly begin the download and do as instructed.
Thanks!
According to the baseband version you posted and this page here:
http://sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-gt-s7562/
the original firmware you had on it would have been the one from China on 4.0.4 unless you had changed that, which I am sure you would have known, but if it was working before, then it should be good to go.
Messed up.

Okay! All I did was downloaded KyleOpen ROM, flashed it and the Kernel. I lost the network here because I was NOT on XXBMD6 or whatever they wanted to be in. So i downloaded the XXBMD6 and again flashed it and installed KyleROM. Still No Network and I took it to Samsung costumer care here and i don't know what they did. I think they flashed some other firmware because, I think the baseband was not "S7562ZCMB2" before flashing KyleOpen ROM. So, do you think I/they changed my firmware? I forgot which baseband I was in. I sound like I know nothing.
