As i said before - there is a flashable zip for that, i looked inside there are many folders, one of them is framework - if i move it to appropriate thread with root explorer it must do it...

Updating apps is displayed when dalvik cache is built. It shouldn't happen every time .
If that zip is causing bootloops.
You can do it your own framework.jar.
Easy way,
Take your framework.jar from your CM9 rom.
Decompile it using apktool.
Edit like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749111.
Compile it and flash it to your rom.

You framework folder needs to be entirely deodexed or odexed. It can't have some files odexed and other not, like Apps folder. the phone won't boot. Krabappel words And if that is from the SSPeed ROM, the system is really unstable, so the phone won't stay up too much... I could try, but I would need to have the entire framework folder so i could test on my phone.
Hope his files are from the 1.58 fw. Don't know if there is any incompatibility with an older ICS fw.

Oh god... I found both tutorials once (Re-odex and add reboot to power menu) but now I can't find any of them
Could you share your entire Framework folder, I want to see if it could work on my 1.58 fw... I'm not sure, but, still. Maybe with it fully deodexed I can try, and it will make it easier. I also could do the 30 volume step mod
I think Sony should create a "Expert Mode" on their JB firmware, where experienced users could activate some nice features, such as enable Reboot in power menu.

So I was tinkering around on the KA12 SSpeed rom and created the reboot button for the power menu. So I'm not entirely sure if it will work on the stock rom since it's not deodexed.
But attached is the modified android.policy.jar. I had reused an existing icon as I couldn't recompile framework-res.apk.

Do you have an android.policy.odex file there as well? If so, that means you can't use this, since it was created on a deodexed rom.
But, like I said, I have it working krab's KA rom so I can't really tell if it will work anywhere else.

For a quick fix while you wait...try the quick reboot app from the market - tiny little app, reboot, reboot into recovery etc - works well :good:
Do you know how many times you could have just turned your fone off and on normally by the time you've done all this?

(Q) Can this be applied

Hello everyone, i want a different lockscreen. I am using a launcher app from experiment.zip from i dont know anymore x( . And its 1 apk which divide in three apps if i use the launcher it crashes my phone and reboots xP. But i am able to use other 2 apps but they dont work 100% and i can only use the theme/lockscreen which only trigger the new lockscreen. And not the theme and icons. And i want to replace default with one off them (still need translation). Because everytime u reboot it use ur default framework-res apk one if correct and take maybe a few minutes or few screen off/on which triggers it but a few times after eachother which in case interrupt ur action xP. So is it possible to 7zip it in framework-res or in the defined app for it. Or does it need to be decompiled/recompiled which is tricky if correct aswell. Any help would and will be apreciated. Didnt know if i can post names of apk used. Let me know if its no problem i edit then a bit xP.

if its a zip i think you should flash it
I noticed that it is depending on my roms what frameworks work.... i have a stockbased rom, so i thought frameworks of stockbased roms should be working, unfortunately they werent all, and that can also be caused by systsmUI. Thats for what.my experimental phase lasted till now, i didnt come to edit packages (test phase :/)
there is a thread about building a rom where you can find a link to mods and there is one to tell you how to edit the apks witjout danger....

No to bad it isnt a zip file which i can flash. Its a weird extention. (.mtz)it can be opened with IZArc tool or renamed to zip experimented a bit already. It contains all images and manifest file with directions language etc. And a file named plain lockscreen. Which is also can be renamed to .zip. And i extracted them which have images and xml file aswell. I was just looking in the manifest. It uses smali code in de main app for the lockscreen. which i installed and reboots my phone on launch everytime. Is it possible to integrate those pieces of smali in framework or the systemui to be my receiver. It works anyway but i know maybe those 2 different locksreen receiver can be in the same app/framework orsomething. And i saw in both framework-res apk and the app which i use for those lockscreens uses almost 70% the same public id's in public.xml in decompiled folders. I hope someone can help me a bit further.

i would recommend you to ask the person that did this mod... i know those lockscreen pictures from apps like magic, miui locker (something like lockscreen launchers)....
If you extract it, is there system, meta inf and so on? like in a flashable zip? then you could extract it with 7zip and compress it to a normal zip to flash...
i really dont know more abput this....
so ask a dev if its that important to you
Greets

No they dont have meta-inf file and manifest. Its a Chinese home launcher app which have 2 apps which reside in the launchers apk. (Because i cant find the apk in system/app or data/app or the mnt/sec and /obb etc). And the launcher have a lockscreen reciever (smali) built inside which works to intercept my default lockscreen mechanism. With the new one just like on picture xP. And i gues i cant retrieve owner of apk i just snatched it from a miu rom.

[MOD][ICS][.587] Skip Tracks via Volume Buttons Long-Press

Tested on Mini and Mini Pro. Should work on all 2011 Xperia line. Made for deodexed, but works on odexed roms too.
Just flash zip via CWM and you're done.
Note:
If it doesn't work on odexed rom, try wiping dalvik cache and reboot.
If you have small apps installed on your rom, flash second zip.
Credits:
Sandy7: for using his script to make flashable zip. Thanks man
Tutorial for developers:
- Decompile android.policy.jar
- Add two smali files (PhoneWindowManager$23 and PhoneWindowManager$24) to /smali/com/android/internal/policy/impl/ folder
- Make changes to PhoneWindowManager.smali according to diff file
- Recompile jar
That's it.

If u already had it, why didn't u post it? I was looking for this for ages...
Anyway, it is possible that it existed somewhere before i posted it, since i'm not an original author of smali code. I found code on some japanese website, and i just modified my android.policy.jar according to differences to see if it will work, and it did.
It's only because i couldn't find fix myself for a long time, that i decided to make flashable zip and share it here.
If i ever find out who is original author of smali code, i'll give him a proper credit.

[Q] Need help or tutorial to modify cm10's framework for osb's dpi

Does anyone know how to decompile and recompile the framework for cm10 nightly build? I'm using Framework Toolkit by Themike *it simply cant recompile everything from original framework into new modded framework after editing the dimens.xml for osb's dpi (i assume, the modded framework (5MB+-) is significantly smaller than the original untouched framework (9MB+-), and the modded framework give bootloop). thanks
ICS apks are hard to decompile and and recompile. you got to search a lot to get a working apktool. the tool needed to for decompiling and recompiling.
moreover the apk is to be "signed". Just make sure you sign your apk.
you got to have a better understanding of xml for this. other than this i cant help. Good luck :good:
you can use mod to add OSB. it also provide modded settings.
Btw mate the system apps. Or files are not to be signed afaik and even if you sign it,you'll have to sign all system files with the same!
Isn't it?

Ghostfreak: yup, but i dun think CM team will sign all the apps they modify, are they? btw, nvm. I guess i better stick to ICS 1st, CM10 still kinda too buggy to be used on daily usages. JB source and resource for xperia are still too limited......
rajxelton: CM10 is based on JB 4.1.2, not 4.0.4 ICS (CM9) anymore of course the modding will be kinda different somehow, and CM10.1 is now 4.2.1 but under alpha release to test for development purpose. and ya, i do know those xml files under the values folder. i did made my own framework for my own use before.....

It's usually because of your android.policy.jar.
Either that or you have jar's that contain no 'meta-data'.
Open up all your Jar's in /System/Framework and see what's missing.

It is a small script that does not ODEX everything but only small amount of files.
Full ODEXing is reccomended through ADB and not CWM.
Some things can't be ODEXed in CWM
Also this only ODEXes apps used by system, your own apps will not be ODEXed even if you move to system and re-run script
