Hey guys,
Does someone know a similar app or way to transfer huge files from android device to device? Fast file transfer does not work on a stock ROM because of HTC making their own WiFi tethering stuff when I read that right.
Any help?
Thanks,
Daranus

Depends on the device, but I think Android Beam could be useful.

It's working fine for me. Check your volume and Google Now settings. Also, HTC has nothing to do with Google Now, Google develops the app entirely.

It works for me. No problem at all.
So I clearly have the HTC One X+ and when i have this rom ( flashed, when i check the phone identity it says that it is an HTC One XL. I'm pretty sure this is also making it so i cannot download some apps and games. For example i cant download Ruzzle on my current phone, but i can on my sh***y Atrix 4G anyone know what the problem is?
i have att with venom, my id is one xl, and I can download ruzzle.

Just a heads up on any other problems...post them in the Rom's thread. You will most likely get more help.

That is just the Developer Preview. I am thinking about trying it out on my Nexus 7. Maybe we can try porting it when the full release gets here. But I think they delayed that till 2014.
I'd be curious if we could port sooner. Looking at the list here (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices#Work_in_progress) there appear to be quite a few other devices namely HTC One variants and VZW SGIII

We could probably get it working without too much trouble. The big issue is that nothing would work. GSM calling and SMS are working, but CDMA and LTE aren't and there's no mobile data support at all. It's just not worth it at this point unless you want to start writing apps.

Check this out.
WIP HTC devices:
HTC Desire S
HTC Desire
HTC DNA
HTC One X
HTC One X+
HTC One X+
HTC One XL
This is looking great.
Unfortunately my week old HTC One X+ came with Android 4.1.1 (Sense 4+) and I received the update notification (Sense 5). However my internet connection is terribly slow and it is impossible to download the OTA directly from the phone. My question is there an alternate method to update my phone to 4.2.2 Sense 5, using HTC Sync (which I haven't downloaded yet) or another method? Thanks!
anyone? bump.
You can Download via WLAN !

I apologize if my question was ambiguous, I meant that my Wi-Fi connection is agonizingly slow so is there a way to download the update from PC?
I think there used to be something like "using your PC's Internet Connection on your phone, when plugged in to the computer", Internet Pass-through or something like that.
However I don't know if this exists on the One X+. I do know I used to have it with the Desire Z.
There is a way to use the internet from ur pc on ur phone...
Go to settings-->select 'more' under wireless networks -->mobile network sharing -->USB network sharing -->Internet pass through

Thanks a ton guys but you're missing the point here (due to my sub-par English I think). Is there a method to download the update to the PC (without the phone) then transfer it to my phone (similar to Sony PC Compaion or such)?
No, as far as I know you can only flash phones from the PC by using a RUU, which is not (yet) available for the HOX(+) rgararding 4.2.2 and Sense 5.

Suppose you could decompile the update .apk. in one of the XML files it will have the URL the phone uses to download the update....

Anyone read this, or anything similar ? Have my doubts, but "who knows".

Once out i think developers will be able to make it for International HOX+ as well. :victory:
Evo 4g has nothing more common with ONEX/+ than HTC ONE, and you cant make noting out of it as its Qualcomm phone not a Tegra..
