can xt910 roms be flashed on xt912 ?? - Motorola Droid RAZR

hey fellas !
as the title states !!
""can xt910 roms be flashed on xt912 ??""
on and i'm using xt912 in india on a gsm carrier !
thanks..

No not without modifying the rom. The xt910 is international version and doesn't have the same radios inside as the xt912. Thats why alot of times you will see GSM patch for a CDMA xt912 rom as it modifies the rom to work on GSM. You could basically take the rom and and then take a xt912 base and make the modifications for it to work with the CDMA variant which you would basically be developing a rom anyways.

ok !
is there a patch available for xt912 !
like gsm users have patch to run cdma roms on xt910 ?

Not that I'm aware of I think it takes more than just a patch but I could be wrong. Some gsm users have xt912 as it can be used on both gsm and cdma networks so its simply enabling only those networks to work, where as with the xt910 the only radio's on it are gsm radios so i think you would have to bake in more things then simply enabling the radios as the radios aren't even baked into their roms. Now I'm no expert someone with more knowledge can probably give you better answer. I think the main thing is the radios as hardware wise there almost identical vs the radios and the xt912 has CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, CDMA 800 / 1900, and LTE 700 MHz Class 13 for Verizon and the xt910 doesnt

[Q] CDMA Costum ROM + GSM Radio

Does it possible to use CDMA costum rom in EVO 3D GSM with GSM Radio??
Merhaba, nope..might potentially brick your device. Different kernel and drivers are needed and the radios are night and day. Unless the CDMA version is ported to gsm. Don't even try it.

[Q] Unlocking Verizon Razr Maxx

I want to unlock my new Verizon Motorola Razr Maxx - not to use it on some other network (it is CDMA so that is a nonstarter) but so I can get root access in order to install Superuser and other such software. I also want to be able to still update the phone with ice cream sandwich when it is finally released and I will need to re-lock the phone accordingly.
I have searched everywhere but all of the blogs and posts talk about how you cannot run a CDMA phone on a GSM network (shocking) and that is not why I want to unlock the phone.
Is it possible to unlock the Razr Maxx?
Unlocking and re-locking the carrier is different from what you want here. What you want is called 'Rooting'. That'll allow you to get the Superuser app and install other root related software.
After rooting you will be able to make system modifications and stuff. If you ever get an update which fails to install due to root just go back to a original fastboot image and try the update again. It will work for sure.
Look here for rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342567
You rock! Thank you for both correcting me query and for providing the solution!
How About Maxx?
Sorry but the page you referenced is for the older Razr - will this work on the Razr Maxx?
Same phone just the Maxx has a bigger battery. Uses the same software. Any post that pertains to the CDMA Razr works for the CDMA Maxx.

but what if, I'm from another country, and I want to use the MAXX(unlocked) on another country?
-If I change the rom, will it still be locked?
-if I change the kernel, still be locked?
-if I change the modem, still locked?
Thanks ;')

Rooting is just giving you "administrator" privlages on your phone. From there you can do a lot to it. Changing ROMs will keep your root access as long as its not the stock ROM. And if your using the stock ROM with Root, i'd advise using VooDoo's OTA Root Keeper.
-if I change the kernel, still be locked?
Unfortunately, the Kernel is locked out due to the boot-loader being locked down by Motorola and thus far cannot be fully unlocked (and functional). So no kernel changes (yet). But a custom Kernel will not affect Root access.
-if I change the modem, still locked?
(Not sure what your asking)
IF you're going to another country, you'd just need to make sure your phone is the RAZR GSM Model (international). The CDMA Model will most likely not function well in other countries because it uses a different radio technology.

What I ment the modem was Radio like the one in At&t Captivate.
So what you mean here is, there's no way for me to UNLOCK the phone(If the phone is 1.GSM 2.Lock to verizon), if I want to use another carrier in Razr Maxx?
For example:
I want to buy Razr Maxx and use it in any country, so its either must be:
1. GSM
2. International (Unlock)
3. If its lock (How do I do it? If method changing Roms/Kernels/Radio's does not work)
Thanks :')
i have a droid razr xt912 that is locked to verizon network and in my country i have the gsm freq(i saw that he has gsm and cdma,but the gsm chip is locked) that he has in the specs 900/1800 for 2g and 2100 for 3g , i can unlock it? and actually work in my country? or i have to wait for the ics update to unlock the gsm chip and then unlock it full?
and one more question if there is someone kind to tell me how can i unlock it? i read a few ways but i'm not sure what option is good or bad , i think in the first time i root it then apply a custom recovery then i don't know....
Unlocking Razr maxx CDMA
I recently bought the droid razr maxx before I moved to Korea. When I bought it, I was told by a Verizon clerk that the phone could be unlocked for use on Korean networks when I arrived in Korea. However, I found out that none of the Korean companies know how to unlock it. Both Verizon and Korea use CDMA networks as does the Droid Razr, so I was hoping there was a way I could switch from Verizon to a Korean network. Are there some values that I need to change in the programming section of my phone? (##program). Should I wait for the ICS update to (finally) come? Any help is greatly appreciated! :fingers-crossed:

NOT SURE WHICH ONE IS CORRECT - RESEARCHED FURTHER - looks like Verizon uses CDMA2000, and I'm pretty sure that 800 is the same as 850 (I'm not sure why but they seem to be interchangeable)

Looks like GSM freqs work too.
The Motorolla Photon uses the same MDM6600 - you may be able to find more info on it by searching for Photon.

How To and Patch to fully enable GSM on Motorola Verizon CDMA phones with Android
If you have a Motorola Verizon Global Phone for CDMA Network and you want correctly use it on GSM Network than you have to edit the build.prop file to fully enable the GSM and you have to set APNs to use 3g data.
cdma to gsm
To fully enable the GSM you must edit the build.prop in this way:
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0
persist.ril.modem.mode =2
ro.telephony.default_network=3
ro.mot.eri=0
ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=1
persist.radio.vzw.cdma.mdn=deleted
ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc = 0
persist.radio.ap.phonetype=1
persist.radio.lte.mm.disable=1
ro.HorizontalBUA=false
ro.HorizontalVVM=false
ro.mot.phonemode.vzw4gphone=0
ro.mot.lte_on_cdma=0
telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=false
ro.cdma.subscribe_on_ruim_ready=false
ro.com.google.clientidbase.ms=android-motorola
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-motorola
ro.com.google.clientidbase.yt=android-motorola
In this way you will enable on every Rom:
fully GSM
SMS
MMS
3G Data
USSD Code
If you wont you can install the patch here attached; The patch will automatically edit your build.prop and will add a correct list of GSM APNs.
You can install the patch on every ROM and on every Android version.
Available Version:
Patch to enable GSM on Verizon CDMA Android Phones v1.4
How to install the patch:
Copy the .zip file to the external memory or memory card
Reboot your phone and enter on Safestrap
From the Install menu select the .zip file and instal withotut signature verification on your Rom
The patch should work on every Verizon CDMA Phones and it will enable fully the GSM, for now it has been tested and it will most certainly work on these models:
Motorola Droid 4 xt894
Motorola Droid Razr xt912
Motorola Droid Razr Maxx xt912
Motorola Droid Razr M xt907
Motorola Droid Razr HD xt926
Would this work on an XT912 in the US?

Not sure I quite understand the context of your question. Going from MM to N Roms should not impact your cell network connection.
i dont understand why it is doing it either but the main question is ifit is cdma or not cause i see alot of xt1526 post in cdma but i am running a sunrai rom and it is working

Surnia is the code name for all variants of the Moto E 2 LTE. Some are CDMA, some are GSM, some overlap. The xt1526 that you have has both CDMA and GSM bands. Other model numbers of surnia are xt1521, xt1527 and xt1528. The non LTE version is code name OTUS. Any surnia ROM is compatible with your device. You may need to reconfigure your APN settings after flashing though - that is the first place I'd look for network issues.
