Hello,
I dunno if it's my phone but it seems happening with all batteries : At some point battery will drop from ~50% to ~14%, recently it always happen @the same time : when the phone reboot. What does it make you think? Could it be phone hardware defect? Hope not..!
Thanks.

Its a hardware defect on all S2 handsets. Can't be help, sorry. Only advice I can give is not to reboot ( if below 40% battery).

Just out of curiosity, do any other Samsung users ie. Note, Note II, S3 face this issue with battery too?
Its happened on just about every rom i've used on my S II with the exception of one or two MIUI roms

They shouldnt, but i'll ask a few s3 users. This explains the huge battery drainage on s1 and s2: http://forums.att.com/t5/Android-Discussion-and-Support/Samsung-GS2-Battery-Issue/td-p/3268333

Greetings. Some of you may have remembered me before, I asked some users here about their experiences with their gs3. Now, I'm about to get my own too So now I want to know, what exact defects or things do I have to check first before deciding which unit to get? Or are there certain serial numbers for units which I have to avoid?

So? I'm asking which things to check first, as based on experience, the One series from HTC has faulty units that has serial numbers starting from sh24 or earlier batches. Things like THESE are what I was asking about and what the hell does it compare to, to a girl? Please don't go off topic and be serious in answering questions. If you have nothing right to say then simply shut up

AFAIK, there isn't something like a faulty batch, there are for sure some reports about issues, but all minor like a yellow tint at white backgrounds or black dots on the screen in dark light conditions with black background (you won't notice it if you don't try to find it) or cracked screen because of clumsy use (but would recommend a case or pouch anyway).
The only real issue (not minor and not user related) I know about has been a charging issue, where the phone could only be charged over pc connection and not with wall charger, but there weren't many having this problem.
Look around and check the threads, could be I missed something, but I guess nothing major.

Is is possible to flash a NOTE 2 rom in the galaxy S3?
NO
considering how long you have been on xda (longer than me) you shouldn't even ask this question.

Flash Note 2 ROMs on a Note 2 and SGS III ROMs on an SGS III.
People have been getting into trouble flashing ROMs made for the international Galaxy S III on their American/Canadian Galaxy S III's, so no, flashing a Note ROM on an SGS is going to be very painful and cause damage.

Yes it can be done but here is what you need:

USB jig
Samsung repair centre number
Bin bag to throw your phone in
plenty of tissues to wipe the tears
Hope that helps

On a serious note, no pun intended. The feature i'd like ported to the S3 is the split screen multi-tasking. It should allow you to do more things at the same time. The problem for the S3 with this feature though is the 1GB of RAM, but the I9305 solves that.
http://www.gsmarena.com/galaxy_note_ii_firmware_update_is_out_brings_multiview_in-news-4911.php
Heres a vid of it in action.
Chuck Norris can, not only unbrick iPhone into concrete-not-brickable Galaxy S3 , but can symbianize Windows 7 into androidlike icecream sandwich with jelly beans inside covered with gingerbread crumbs.
So I'm coming from a Samsung Infuse, and honestly, this phone cannot piss me off even more than I already am. I'm talking about constant resets (stuck power button), terrible GPS reception, UNBEARABLE LAG even with the latest paranoid android, and finally, messed up APN settings which bares the phone useless since I can't have any service on it! So now you understand of my struggles with my current phone. I'm in search for something that I can rely on and won't have even the slightest bit of lag after 2+ years of owning it.
Now, I've been doing some research on some phones (gs3, htc one x, htc one, gs4) And I come here to find out your honest opinion on the GS3 since the time you've owned it. Should I save some cash buying a GS3 or a One X, or are there some sort of problems with these phones that have ticked you off that I should consider paying the extra buck and looking at the 2013 flagships instead?
I would suggest the SIV over the SIII..

OP, if I were you, I'd wait until the S4. Not because the S4 is a good phone, we don't really know. But because I'd like to know if the S3 sources are to be released. Otherwise, stay away from exynos.

If you really want an S3, what about the I9305? 2G RAM! If you can afford a G4 go for that instead, if cash is tight perhaps a second hand G3. Should be a few out there soon cheap, when people have upgraded.

Sv: Should I get a Galaxy S III??
If you can get the S3 for a gooood price, get it and install SlimBean no lag at all stable as rock. Faster then a n4
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I'd recommended waiting for the S4. The S3 is a great phone but at least you'll be future-proof with the Galaxy S4 (in terms of updates, camera, display, and RAM). That's quite a lot of things!

Yeah it's a drawback, one I would find myself very hard to live with, but I would make compromises. I love that my S3 is capable of reading sdcards but I would easily give up that for something that runs lovely aosp as awesomely as the Nexus

I would be probably on Nexus 4 already if it supports USB OTG to mount external drives.
S3 have bad multitasking management, huge delay when you open dialer, mms and galery app.
I have spent lot of hours to fix these issues thanks to xda devs. It is a good phone (huge battery removable, good screen, ext sd card, powerfull) with a bad programmation.
I advise you a nexus one or a htc.

All i'm saying is to get a phone with 2Gb of ram. S4 or even the S3 with 4G is fine. The N4 is subject to different considerations (do you want an sdcard, etc) but it's a powerhouse too.
While the S3 nearly doesn't lag at all, not having multitask isn't fun and you'll definitly have a better experience if your apps aren't closing all the time due to lack of memory. This annoys me to no end and i'm replacing it whenever an oportunity arrises.

I'm having really bad battery problems with my girlfriends phone.
We were running pa jelly bean and we bought a new battery to try fix the problem as its quite an old phone.
Still had the same problem so tried pa kit kat. That didn't fix it either.
Basically the phone will charge to 100% then go down normally to about 40 or 60% then it will totally die and when you put it back on charge it will he at zero again. So she's really not getting a use out of the phone at all. Am I going to need to flash stock again? Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks

Flashed stock jb uk. Took all day to download too as samfirmware seem to have changed their servers. And same problem.
It was at about 60% then it froze and I had to take the battery out and put it on charge to get it back on again. And it was 0%!
Could it be a bad charger port or something? Means I would need to take the phone apart to see which revision it is won't I?
Thanks

Really looks like hw problem.
It hasn't been wetted. I heard of an issue with i9100's that its appears to be on charge constantly even when unplugged the charger icon stays in the corner. Given what you've already tried (new battery/etc) & given how quick/easy/cheap (~US$15) it is to replace the USB board/port, I'd be doing that if I were in your situation. KeithRoss39 has a guide in the General section which has all the info you need to get it done.

Cheers mistah. I've already replaced the LCD screen on it so should I had the thing in pieces already. Only pain is I have to check the rev number on the board before I order it I think so it matches.
