I used the ExynosAbouse app and I clicked the one click secure patch exploit thing (non rooot) os i didnt root and i still got modified status and cant download any otas. Does anyone know how to remove the patch or the modified status in any way? Thanks!
You need to use CF Autoroot to gain root and Triangle Away to return to normal status. You may need the paid version of Triangle Away. The exynos abuse patch causes my status to change to modified if I have it set at boot. The OP in the exynos abuse thread has the details regarding the purpose of the patch.

The only way triangle away is needed is if he tripped his flash counter by using unofficial firmware in Odin.
Op I would just Odin back to stock. There's a great guide stickied in the development section. It may be overkill but will fix you up.

Triangle Away will also reset the device status back to normal and hide the su binary until after the sysscope process has finished scanning. I use it this way.
Edit: I used triangle away after the exynos abuse app caused my device status to become modified.

Well look at that triangle away is coming up. Used to simply rest flash counter.
But let's see if it fixes the op problem because he didn't root so don't know if that applies. I was also thinking of a permanent fix not just a patch.

lrgit hso Odin back to stock? I will try to do so. If not, i may jsut end up rooting in a couple days anyways thanks all
Use CF autoroot. Once you have root disable the patch. Use Triangle Away to revert to normal status.
No need to flash back to stock

Re: The Binary Flash Counter
I'm sure this has been discussed but I couldn't find a topic on it. I'm new to Samsung and would like for somebody to explain the flash counter thing to me please. What is it? Is there a certain amount of times that you can flash a rom or kernel? Thanks
Well well
well if u trip flash counter - samsung will send their henchmen to haunt you down, they will use dogs and pepper spray on you! be warned.
Oh ok. Thank you. Btw do you think I would be able to fight them?
No. U can't fight them. Because u what? U just voided ur warranty! Bwa-Ha-ha-ha!
its limited to 100.
after that the phone shoots flames out the bottom and melts thru its own casing. Here's what happened when this guy hit 100 http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-fire-melts-case-96549/
True that. Thanks guys for your help. I finally understand this binary flash thing. I would even be happy to donate a few bucks

Samsung uses that counter to determine warranty. Let's say your flash counter is well over 100 and you send it to sammy because your nand is bad, there is a good chance they're gonna tell you you're SOL. From my understanding it voids your warranty as soon as it goes up, although there is people that say they have sent theirs in tripped with no ill effects. Be patient and someone will port the flash counter reset just as they did for our T989s and I717's.
Does anyone know how come my internal storage is listed as only 1GB available when I should clearly have about 8GB or more? I've attached a screen shot of my Storage settings. Thanks in advance!

Touchwiz. All the bloatware and unnecessary features take up space. Look under more and about phone. If you are on VRUAMDK then you can install a custom ROM. If you aren't on VRUAMDK, but are still on Android 4.2.2 then you can root and get rid of some bloat, but if you are on 4.3 and root then you permanently trip the Knox flag which voids your warranty.

I am on a custom rom. I've gotten rid of most of the bloat ware but the main issue is that the storage amounts aren't adding up.

Are you using safestrap?
No. I'm on the original build. Running hyper drive RLS11. This issue has happened on every rom I've used tho, from cm 10 to aokp and the Google edition.

I'm having issues passing safetynet on a Samsung J3 Emerge while using Magisk. I have read thread after thread and their doesn't seem to be a fix. I'm not sure If it's an issue with samsung devices but as soon as I restore boot.img everything is works fine. Rather annoying to do so just to use a few apps that need root or won't work on rooted devices. I read in a forum that
I'm at the point of pulling my hair out due to frustratration. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Had you uninstalled any bloatware? If yes, then you need to reinstall it as a system app again to fool SafetyNet and make it believe that your device isn't rooted.

Knox is tripped. It also says I'm using a custom binary.
