JB1% baterry mod - Motorola Droid RAZR

this is my first official contribution I guess...so let me know how it works
so I got tired of waiting for someone to make a battery mod and took it upon myself to make one and here it is no extra junk in it just a simple battery icon with 1% increments its only for stock deodexed ROMs but who knows it might work on custom ROMs too I only tested on stock deodexed jb
install the files in the right place using root explorer and set permissions then reboot
edit fixed link with new systemuiapk
http://db.tt/FBxKBDmS

Screen shot

back to the drawing board I noticed when I charge past 28% it starts reading 34 then 43 if anyone wants help me edit this feel free any help is greatly appreciated

Thank you for your contribution first of all. Although I don't know how to make the tweak over the service.jar, but I will upload the one in China retail as a reference for you. Hope you can enjoy.

Man, it is the one that have been well-modified by others.
I don't know whether it is similar to the CDMA one or not, just as a reference!
Please don't ask me when you are in trouble, bcoz I merely know a single line in the .smali files....
BTW, how can I just get start to learn the .smali file? (No java-based knowledge, a complete novice)

Editting the res from an apk, probably the systemui, is not that difficult since it is understandable to human level. But for the .smali editing, I really got stuck. Maybe I am in lack of java knowledge or others. I don't know much haha!

Guys, you need to take the deodexed framework from a given firmware, mod it and push the modded version to the device. Frameworks are not not interchangeable between different firmwares.

Provided below is the update.zip made for China retail with 1% battery increment

Superfine Mod for our Note

Just saw this article on pulse, the gs3 got this new mod and it changes the quality of the camera. When can we expect that on our note?

APK alone won't be enough. There are some needed libs in order for this to work.
Guess we'll just have to wait till someone ports it to our Note.

Instructions are simple:
"replace original SamsungCamera.apk in system\app\ with this one using e.g. “Root explorer” or something… You need a rooted Device!"
Since it's just an apk, there shouldn't any harm in just testing it out -- just be sure to make a nandroid backup and be prepared to use adb to push the original SamsungCamera.apk back to /system/app if it causes any sort of bootloop/fails.
My suspicion is that it does rely on some of the S3's unique framework or lib files, and the camera hardware itself is also different, so it probably won't "just work"... but ya never know! lol
I also posted on HyperX's site to see if he has any interest in getting it ported to our i717...

[Aroma installer] Generic

In an attempt to make all of our lives easier I have been working on a generic and customizable aroma installer.
There's a lot of really great things you can do with this. Not only can you set it to flash roms, but you can unistall just about anything, run commands and much much more.
It does take some basic knowledge of programming. Lots of if then else endif statements.
So you should have a good working knowledge of basic programming.
Aroma XDA thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461712
I would like to thank @amarullz and any others that help him for such an innovative programming tool!
Good luck!
Chevy
Tutorial
This is going to be some helpfull information on what to do with the zip file once you have it
Before you start,
Downloads
Generic Amaze aroma installer http://tinyw.in/BL8m
winrar http://www.win-rar.com/download.html?&L=0 I use this a lot and it's free (until the trial runs out, then you have to click the buy it box closed of just shell out a few bucks and get the license)
Notepad++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org this is a text editor and I use it frequently! and it's FREE!!
That's all you need to download for now...
You should also make a copy of the generic.zip file and modify the copy and save the original.
The major folders all have a readme.txt file in them with directions/info as to what to put there.
I do recommend studying the aroma-config and updater-script files.
These two files interact with each other and files that the aroma-config file creates.
There are a few other files like changelog.txt and agreement.txt that you can edit with a text editor.
Splash Screens / Banners
Find a nice picture (.png file) that you want to use for a Slash screen/banner (I'm not sure what the limitations are for this)
Splash screen/ Banners look really good when they are semi transparent and have no background.
The ones in the venom roms really look cool.

[TESTING] SamsungIME keyboard

Hi guys..I've tried to edit the sammy keyboard and in particular i've edited in layout/arrays some lines that say 'recognition_time'. The default values were 1000, 300 and I have casually modded them to 100 and 30 (also other lines). I think that something is improved..but I do not know if it is a placebo...
I also asked to @mr.harsh to help me with this little project and I am waiting some infos about smali coding.
Now, can someone of you test my SamusngIME keyboard?
Please, i need testers you just have to download from attachment, copy to system, set perm to rw-r-r (644), reboot and then let me know something! (Do a backup before installing it)
Only for stock sammy firmwares deodexed.
Many thanks in advance, i'll be grateful

I had asked someone to port this theme on whatsapp. but it seems that it has already been ported (Not Sure). I haven't tried this one so cant say if it is actually been ported or just copied the zip file posted here. if its just a copy than the Op is going to be in serious trouble coz it has been already reported to XDA admin and the investigation is being done.

I have already reported that this theme breaks wifi. But the dev ova here have uploaded the same file.

Gentlemen, as it seems to me that a great part of this release is mine, could we dig a little more this wi-fi issue as it may, someway, affect my own releases at S3 thread?
I would be very thankful if you could wait a little more time as I'm still trying to determine the extension of the modifications that were made by the dev to port my work to yours devices.
At the moment I get the whole picture here, we will be tackling it.
cardozclive, if you remember, please point me to the whatsapp theme you've mentioned. Thank you.
Nice regards.

As extensively researched by the community, the use of black backgrounds in OLED (AMOLED and Super AMOLED) devices may lead to a gain up to 20% more battery juice. As related information, you can find some maths here and this xda experiment.

We just differ that he ask you to search Google, I don't.
Respectfully, he quoted the words (not the author). Anyway, I wouldn't claim authorship on words
Nice regards.

Hi @Kdio, I dont know if you remember me. Few months back I tried your theme from S3's forum and PM'd u that the I like your theme but it breaks some things on Note 2.
As for the whatsapp thing. I had asked peepz in the group if anyone can help solve the wifi breaking prob and gave the link of your theme for them to look over.
PS: I guess its the PNGS which from the SystemUi.apk that are breaking the WIFI coz they aren't resized as per note 2's resolution
@cardozclive
No wifi issues dude
Now every thing is fine
Thread updated
Thanks again to @Kdio

Hi cardozclive
Thank you A LOT dude for your words.
And YES ... seems you are completely right as the package was delivery DIRECTLY from S3 to Note2 without modifications.
Implementing correction right now.
Nice regards.
