[Q] Problem with multiwindow mod from bala_gamer - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got problem with the multiwindow mod from bala_gamer ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995697&page=56 )
I'm on 4.1.2, MA2, so I choose the last file (multi v10.zip), and I flash it with CWM.
But after reboot, I didn't have any changes.. There are the same app in the multi-window menu..
What could probably be wrong in my way to do ?
Busybox is installed, my GS3 is rooted with a stock ROM.
Thanks in advance to my saver

Here is how you can add apps into the multi window tray;
-search for the multi window control app in your app drawer.
-open the app.
-click on the "add applications" tab.
-click on "add an application" at the top of the menu that appears. A list of all the apps installed then appears after which you can click on the app you want to add to the multiwindow.
-repeat step 4 for all apps you want added to the multiwindow.
-Press the back button once you are done adding your preferred apps. A pop up stating that settings for the multiwindow bar have changed comes up. click on kill it!
-Now open the multiwindow bar and click on edit. You will find all your added apps on the right side.
-to customize the bar, press and hold an app and drag and drop it into the tray.
-Enjoy.

Hey gesbon!
Thanks for your rapid answer !
I remember seeing an app for the multi-window function... but I didn't find it anymore..
How can this be possible ?
The flash of the multi10.zip may be the cause ?

I finally found !
I had to delete the FlashBarService.odex file in the /system/app/ folder, because I'm not on a deodexed ROM !
So it's working !
...but bad: I've got a lot of applications and I can only add the first one (on the first page, before scrolling) to the flashbar.
If i want an app on the next page, I have to add the first application then remove them (they go to the bottom of the list of apps)...

Xposed frameworks Guide!!!!

How to install the Xposed Framework and Use it ( Thanks to Rovo 89)
I made this guide because I thought the RAZR community lacked the knowledge about these xposed frameworks and how to use it. Only a few devs have actually implemented it. I have made this as simple as possible.
I have moved this thread here because the old one has been made for apps only
For the framework:
Download XposedInstaller.apk and install it ( download below)
Launch the Xposed Installer and click on "Install/Update"
Reboot
Done!
For any modifications/modules you want to install:
Download .apk and install it ( first install the app settings)
Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" tab (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet)
Enable the module by checking the checkbox
Reboot
Done!
Instructions for using modules :
Starting with Gmail
At this point i believe u have rebooted your phone after installing app settings and before that the Xposed installer itself
Open app settings and search for Gmail.
To get the kind of result displayed below
1. Change Screen(dp) settings to preferably 600*1024
2. Change font scale to 80 otherwise the dual panel will look messed up.
3. I would suggest u change the orientation to always landscape - worked best for me - depends on your liking
press the save button on the right top corner (then press yes) and check your newly designed gmail app right away
You can tinker with the settings and change it to your liking
Now lets move on to System Settings menu. (Dual panel!)( If u dont use Liquid smooth or AOKP)
search for settings in App settings
in the settings menu
Change DPI to 160
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600
and font scale to 130 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE )
Now save and check it out!
For the same thing - But If u use LiquidSmooth or AOKP)
Search for force dual panel in your system settings menu and check it.
Then go to app settings -> settings -> and then
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Save and enjoy!
Now one last example for the PLAY STORE
Search for playstore in the app settings list and enter it.
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE - YOUR CHOICE - WORKS BOTH WAYS )
Additional Settings for each app:
1. U can check fulscreen to disable statusbar in that app
2. Check screen on to change display timeout to never!( it will always stay on in that ap
3. Go to locale settings and select the language u want to display it in!

I am using BOBCAT Rom v12 (NI4) where xposed framework is pre installed. I opened xposed, clicked install/update it showing me the following error

I have tried disabler_xposed.zip via recovery mode but no result.
Changed the installation method of xposed....no success either.
The rom is working fine except modules cant be used.........

Screens look awesome. I'm new to LL, how do I load the theme? I have LL running, but no /sdcard/LightningLauncher folder to extract to. If I create it and extract the zip to it, LL does not find the template to load.

I think you are a bit confused .. lol
is:
** The first attachment is a backup of the layout of my screen LL launcher already configured. (you do not need it to build the theme, it just good would things).
** The second attachment, are the widgets, all of them, everything you need to mount the desktop's inside this zip.
** Extract the zooper widgets, (... zw), and copy it to the "your internal storage/zooperwidget/templates folder, and add the widgets manually ..
I have helped a friend, sorry my bad english ..,

Big thanks for helping. You're right, i am! I think i did all that. Very tempting to keep trying but my boss does not appreciate a good theme like i do, so unfortunately i'll have to keep trying later tonight.
Edit: Ok, it's later tonight now and i definitely did all that, at least twice, with all apps from play-links installed. Still no luck!
I did have to create the local LL folder again, shouldn't that have been there after installing LL?
And is " Apply" , " load installed template" > " Select Template" the right way to activate the theme after extracting the files?
Maybe Xposed gets in the way? DPI is on standard Omni setting (480 i think, which sucks, but i want to get this theme working) but changed for some individual apps using app-settings module.

ok, let's make an attempt, make a backup of your settings LL:
preferences > settings > Backup & Restore
Choose a name for your backup .. then find it in your store, paste my backup in the same place ...
restore it the same way
preferences > settings > Backup & Restore ...
tell me if it worked for you ....
I will also make this theme with launcher themer, but the sidebar is not fixed, it is a feature of the LL, but easier for you ...

derp... why didn't i think of that? That worked, it was one level higher then expected. Custom Zooper widgets don't show in the list. The regular Zoopers and media utilities do. I've extracted the wxtreme *.ws files to
sdcard/ZooperWidget/templates and to
sdcard/ZooperWidget/autosave and to
sdcard/ZooperWidget/ and to
android/data/org.zooper.zwfree/templates and to

[MOD] [4.2.2] All Apps In Multi Windows

Here is a mod to make all your apps multi windows compatible.
THIS MOD WORKS ONLY WITH 4.2.2
I know that there are some apps here and there that do the same job but the advantage of this mod is that:
1-it works without any third part app which means that you'll save some ram and some battery,
2-with third apps when you install a new app you have to reboot to have that new app to show in the multi windows tray, whereas with this mod you don't need to reboot, the app shows straight away in the tray.
DO A BACKUP JUST IN CASE
Installation
Download AllAppsMultiWindowsMega6.3.zip, flash it from recovery, clean dalvik cache, reboot.
Bonus
I added a second zip called permissions mw.zip.
It contains files that will enable you to activate two hidden functions in the multiwindows tray (recent and templates), and to have multi instance.
DO NOT FLASH IT but extract the two files.
Navigate to your system/etc/permissions folder.
Add .bak at the end of com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml so that it becomes com.sec.feature.multiwindow.xml.bak.
Copy the two files from the zip into the folder.
Set permissions to rw, r, r (6, 4, 4).
Reboot.
Now you can see a recent tray at the top of the flashbar (multii windows bar), and a button with a cross at the bottom (below the edit button) of it that is the template button.
Bugs
I found the recent function somehow wonky, but it kinda works and maybe it'll work better for you depending on your phone's configuration.
Multi instance doesn't work for all apps, and for some apps one can't open two windows one after the other (one has to open one window of let's say app A, then app B, then one can open a second window of app A with the first app A still open).
Enjoy!
thank you so much for this

Kevin, Many thanks for providing not just one custom ROM for this phone but three!
I have choosen your HikeOS 4.2 as my favorite and here are some changes I have made:
1. I have added Email.apk, GalleryGoogle.apk and libcameracustom.so to get Email and working AutoFocus and non-crashing camera from a similar phone custom rom: HikeOS_JY-G3_Android_4.2.1_V3
2. Added Barcode Scanner from market to demonstate working AutoFocus.
3. Replaced bootanimation.zip with one that I like.
4. Removed GPS Status. The YGPS system apk that is designed for this phone gives faster locks. To get easy access to YGPS I have included QuickShortcutMaker and xShortcut free from market. First create a shortcut for YGPS with QuickShortcutMaker then create another shortcut for YGPS with xShortcut free with its Capture Shortcut mode. The xShortcut allows the YGPS run in back ground mode to work.
5. Added MT GPS from market to manually download EPO files every couple of weeks. I use the GPS EPO assistance mode for faster first time locks. I disable A-GPS mode to not use my mobile data.
6. I have modified SunBeam.apk to a Lockscreen wallpaper I like. To use launch Hike Themes and select Themes Style on the left with the Clock and apply.
7. For changable Lockscreen wallpaper I have moved theme SunBeam.apk from sytem to data/app directory to allow easy updating with APK editor that I have included from market. With APK editor "Select Apk from App" and scroll all the way to the bottom and select com.hike.them.SunBeam. Select "Resource". Select "drawable-hdpi" and scroll all the way to the bottom and select lock_wallpaper.png and replace with any 540 x 960 png or jpg file you want. Select Save then exit app. Your installable apk is in ApkEditor directory on your SD card. No need to reapply the Theme your change will take effect after installing.

Thanks.
The YGPS shortcuts and MT GPS should work for any MediaTek MT6577 phone.
The LockScreen wallpaper method should work for any HikeOS that has the same BootLoop issue or that has disabled the custom wallpapers for the lockscreen.
The libcameracustom.so is a recommended AutoFocus fix for any MediaTek custom rom when the auto focus is not working.

Enable Multi Window

Hi,
You can enable multi window functionality in apps which are not supported by following the below steps
=> Your phone must be rooted
=> You need a good file explorer with Root support and Xml editing support (I used Solid Explorer)
Basically, go to /data/cust/xml/
And find this file
multiwindow_whitelist_apps.xml file
whichever app you want to add, you just add this line of code in the above file before the comments section in the code
<mw_app package_name="xxxxxx"/>
xxxxxx = package name of the app.
Package name can be found in "/data/app" folder
Restart the device.
Now wherever you open the app just long press the multiwindow button and your app will open in multi window
Screenshots will make it clear
I hope this helps. Kindly do the above at your own risk. It worked for me, might brick for you
Or just enable the "Force activities to be resizable" in developer options so even wirhout root you can use multiwindow in all apps with 100% safety
