SD Card not detected in Recovery (TWRP) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
My tablet is: Asus Transformer TF300T (rooted)
What I did:
- I accidentally wiped all data in tablet - ROM, etc. Only left is Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.2.0 recovery
- I put Android.zip (installation files) into MicroSD Card / uSD Card
- I boot into recovery (TWRP)
- TWRP does not read/detect the SD Card
- There is no files in /sdcard except one; /sdcard/TWRP/.twrps
I also
- installed adb on PC
- did 'adb devices' - no device detected when connect between tablet and PC
How?

Try different versions
Or use cmw recovery
DONT FORGET TO HIT THANKS.......

Try installing ROM from usb drive using USB OTG if supported
If that don't work, you can go to fast-boot mode (generally pressing Vol.Down or Vol.Up + Power button, But depends on your device)
and the use adb to install CWM or TWRP recovery again

[Q] Recovery on Galaxy 10.1

Anyone know of a way to get into recovery mode (botton combo, one-click, etc.) on the 10.1 tab without having android sdk and adb installed on my PC? I am not new at flashing files in recovery mode, but going through help files/instructions on adk is a bit overwhelming.
I have the root zip file on my tab, I just need to get into recovery mode to flash it.
Thanks in advance...
It isn't possible without adb on a non-rooted device. You can attempt to boot into recovery mode by holding power and volume down on start up and selecting the android guy with "downloading" but it will say: "waiting for usb" and hang there. I was attempting to do this the other night.
Getting into recovery is dead simple though once you have adb going. Go to the android development section and go to rooting your tablet. Download the drivers > connect to the computer > run adb in command prompt once you have your sdk installed > then if you have your drivers fully installed and usb debugging mode is on just type in command prompt "adb reboot recovery" and it will send you directly to recovery mode to flash any zip file you please.
Thx, Really wish someone had a one-click option, I guess i'll just have to jump in
I've been trying to boot into recovery for a while now, but with no luck. I installed the full SDK platform, and the Manager app downloaded and installed all the available packages (took forever). The 'push' command seemed to work fine, and when I do "adb reboot recovery" the tablet reboots, but just goes into the battery charging screen. Any idea why this might be happening, and what I can do to get into recovery?

The mode that says "downloading" is not recovery mode. Just select the one on the left and you will get into stock recovery mode (unless you already have Clockwork installed).

I managed to do that, but it wouldn't show anything on my '/sdcard' directory, even when I renamed the root package to "update.zip"
In red, it says "E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard]" Not sure if I'm getting into real, stock recovery, or what - seems crazy that stock wouldn't be able to access its own sdcard directory.
Battery not recovery mode
I am in a similar situation, when I use adb to run recovery mode it sends me to teh battery charging screen. With the exception of that they only other things I can do are to hold power and vol to get option of using Fastboot or ODIN. I do not have any options ever to chose to go into recovery mode. Anyone know why this may be? I am running 3.1 IO version.
Thanks
You will need fastboot and recovery.img to boot into recovery in order to perform a factory reset.
Installing the sdk works best, as drivers needed are acquired from the process! ELse there are extracted contents available on net including just the drivers, adb (and fastboot!)

I don't think the stock retail recovery is capable of flashing off SD storage. That's why the current rooting methods have you first flash either I/O recovery or a custom recovery.

The manual says to press the power and UP VOL button to get into recovery mode for update flash or wipe data ..
Pressing power and DOWN VOL enters fastboot mode

Go ahead and let know if you are able to enter recovery with the keys combination and wipe or factory reset the device, according to manual. Did not work for me, am on 3.1 honeycomb i/o galaxy tab 10.1 and many others.

Use the quick boot app. Works well for me. Supports power off, recovery, and normal reboot for the free version. Oh yeah but that requires root.

Serious problem

Hi folks!
I've made some mistake and i dunno how to get out.
So today i was trying to flash CM9.
I didn't put the rom in the sdcard in first place cause i thought that would work in CWM. Now i've done everything like unlocking bootloader, install CWM and install CM kernel but...i'm stucked cause i have no way to access sdcard & push the zip file to install the ROM.
Mount options in CWM are not working and i'm not able to access adb to push the file.
What should i do?

Do you have fastboot?
Turn off phone, disconnect usb. Hold down Volume up and connect usb cable to pc. (dont touch power or home or something else, just keep volume up pressed). If you see a blue led and type in cmd: Fastboot devices. And a device pops op. You have fastboot and we can help further.
You could also try flashmode:
- Switch off the phone
- Press the Volume down button and hold it
- (While holding) Plug in the USB cable
-If successful, the LED should turn green
You could then flash a tft file from here using flashtool: http://www.mediafire.com/?tefi2sficc17a10
I have fastboot working of course!
I've flashed another kernel (official modded) and now i'm able to access sdcard!!!
I think that i've resolved :victory:

[Q] Recovery mode not loading

hello all.
i am not a developer guy.. so i tried to root my device with some tutorials and articles over the net. and i found a good one at skyneel.com
after reading that.. i did following.:
1. installed proper drivers for my Micromax A120 running on KITKAT 4.4.2
2. enabled USB debugging
3. copied SuperSU file (root_kit.zip) to my sd card
4. run SPtool.exe and loaded MT6582_scatter.txt file and connected my phone.
5. phone was detected and everything went perfect..
6. I Switched on the phone to enter recovery mode (volume up + down + power key)
Now the issue is that my phone shows 2 modes... Recovery mode & Factory Reset Mode. but i can not select any of them.. i use volume keys as per the order of options given.. but the phone always starts in normal mode..
Recovery mode is not loading. so i can not install the SuperSU file which is there in my sd card.. I am stuck at the very last option..
What to do.. How to boot my device into recovery. even adb does not detect my device connected...

Go to recovery menu by pressing the volume up and power button
Run this file
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862669609 (Download this file and extract and keep before you go to recovery)

Stuck on TWRP, cannot load into eRecovery

Hello,
Can I please ask I did followed one tutorial how to root the Magisk into mine Huawei P20 Lite, but in recovery mode looks like I've replaced the eRecovery with the TWRP 3.4.0-1-anne.img and now I cannot load into the stock ROM. I cannot even install the custom ROM even if it's installing them via fastboot commands or via TWRP by holding Volume Up + Power button. I've tried to format the data in TWRP, also did Advanced Wipe (dalvik + art, cache, data, system, internal storage) multiple times but it's not going into the system, just keep looping in the TWRP 3.7.0 (Volume Up + Power button) or if I want to go to eRecovery by holding Volume Up + Power button > Menu with three options > holding power up button) it's still going to the TWRP 3.4.0 not into eRecovery mode to recover the Stock image.
I followed this tutorial:
I tried to search everywhere even on Google but I cannot find anything about this how can i get back the eRecovery mode back to the phone.
Is there any way how to fix this?
Thank you!

First of all, it is necessary to clarify the terms - are we talking about Recovery mode or eRecovery mode?
It's eRecovery mode (the stock recovery mode from Huawei) which we are talking about. Recovery mode works fine.
Thanks

Download stock eRecovery :
https://mega.nz/file/58tnXIKB#KiNi1LXdvZ6hFQAKknULA6fTaOW4-3dstDDdngzBdco
- Copy it to the SD Card
- now boot into TWRP, select storage - SD Card, select "Install image", select downloaded eRecovery_ramdisk.img file, mark eRecovery, swipe. Reboot system.
If you want flash full stock FW via dload, on EMUI 9.1 you must have stock Recovery installed .
Thanks Alf, can I please ask do you have any instructions which I can use to get into Recovery mode and copy the eRecovery IMG into SD card? The copying is not working for me from computer to Huawei via TWRP.

Where do you get such instructions from? Via TWRP?
Just connect your phone to PC via USB and copy, that's all.
Hi Alf, when i connect huawei phone to the computer and i have enabled MTP in Mount in TWRP, I can see the storage but it's not copying the eRecovery.img into it. I've tried 2 different cables, 2 different ports and still it's not copying there, just failing.
Do you have any ideas how can i transfer .img file into the phone into SD Storage?
Thanks!
EDIT: I've tried also Internal storage but the same thing happens.

twrp again...twrp has nothing to do with it!
P.S.: are you trolling me?
Okay i figured it out what you mean.
By putting SD card into the SD card reader i've downloaded drivers for it and copied the eRecovery img finally into the SD card via computer.
Afterwards followed your steps and eRecovery is back into Huawei phone, downloading the stock rom back.
P.S.: I am not trolling you but I didn't figured it out that you can move the SD card into the computer via SD Card reader.
Thanks for the tips and link for eRecovery!
