Devs needed to build Android 4.2 for any MT6577 device - its huge community, but for now we dont have JB 4.2.
Here you can find full kernel and device sources. I hope that it can help.
Here is MT6589 kernel sources, maybe thats can help (all mt6589 devices works on android 4.2).
Maybe we can get cm 10.1? Here is CM9 booted on Mt6577.
For your work you will be thankful a lot of people.

lol
There's no JB 4.2 for MT6577
You can only get til 4.1.2.
BTW, Mediatek SOURCES are INCOMPLETED, that's why there isn't no CM rom's til this date.
Even the ICS Sources still lack some files.
You can say thanks to Mediatek, they use alot of proprietary sources!
Hello,
Can anyone please modify Official Sammy ROM of I9105 i.e. Android 4.2.2 to be made compatible for S2 I9100 as both the devices are same in respect of resolution and both are ARMV7 Devices.
I will be very thankful and WILL DONATE some amount if developer wants to but developer can message me or post the amount here for donation and we will discuss if its suitable amount.
Do not get me wrong and Please remove these donation lines if its NOT Allowed.
I want Official Samsung Rom 4.2.2/4.3 badly for my Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100.
Some hardware differences:
Chipset
I9100 : Exynos 4210
I9105: Broadcom BC28155
CPU
I9100 : Cortex-A9 Dual-core 1.2 GHz
I9105 : Dual-core 1.2 GHz
GPU
I9100 : Mali-400
I9105 : Broadcom VideoCore IV
Please help. Thanks in advance.
Hi there !
Android 4.2 is starting to get a bit old, one and a half years already. I doubt anyone will want to port the S2 Plus rom, as the chipsets and all the drivers and stuff are different.. It doesn't add much in comparision to 4.1.2 S2 Roms. If you really like TouchWiz, I recommend you take a look at this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...atives/rom-touchwiz-resurrection-rom-t2491822
It's a mod based on CM 10.1, and includes a refreshed TouchWiz UI, with many features from S3 and S4. Never tried it but comments seem to be quite good.

Q&A for [GUIDE]How To Port ROMS to Your Device [AOSP]

Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Upgrading Ported Custom ROM
Hello everyone here,
By following this thread so far, I've managed to port a custom ROM successfully for my device from existing Base ROM. Kudos to ArjunrambZ for this helpful thread for noobs like me. But both the ROMs are Android 4.1.1 . Now can anyone help me how to upgrade the version(Example: I want to upgrade to Android 4.4.4) of my Ported ROM? I googled a lot but I couldn't find anything useful/understandable for me. Thank you and thanks to KJ for pushing me in the right direction :cyclops:
ROM structure
Nice guide I haven't actually tried this yet but I have a few questions
As far as i knw porting means running a rom on a device for which it was not created
If this is the case why do we copy only specific folders (apps, fonts, media, framework) . from port rom to base rom? So there r still parts of original rom in new ported rom what is work of those parts? And what is work of parts we copied from port rom?
At 1st i thought the remain of base rom which we didn't replace is device specific i.e it contains drivers, etc am i correct?
Plus i have one more query what if i want to port a completely diff version port rom
For example i have a note 2 and i knw there won't be any lollipop release for it
So what if i want to port lollipop to my device since i have base rom as kitkat and port rom as lollipop, is it possible cross version porting?
Thanks
can i port to different android versions
I have xiaomi mi3 which has almost same SoC as nexus 5 so can i port nexus aosp rom ( android L) to my base Rom(4.4 AOSP)
can i use or follow whole of your method to port+upgrade my rom
i mean my baserom version is 4.2.2
but i want to port 4.4 rom on my device
is it possible
ADB is not detecting my device
after porting rom ADB is not detecting my device and it is showing different device name
so i can't connect with usb reverse tethering kind of app plz help !!
cant find any base rom
I have huawei mediapad 7 youth s7-701u cant find any rom for this device as a base rom what should i do i have the offical firmware
i want to port nokia x rom to my galaxy star pro will this method work
Will this porting method work to port a rom for same device but different carrier? I have a working CM12 rom for my device/carrier and want to port a different rom like Pac .

Can i port Omnirom 5.1.1 made for samsung galaxy s to samsung galaxy s duos
I tried your method and there were a few problems.
I took cosmic rom for galaxy s duos as the base rom.
I didnt see any set perm files in this base rom , so i could not copy.
Not many files were there in init.d of Omnirom 5.1.1 which i used as port rom as compared yo what you have shown in ur tutorial.
I still continued and zipped the rom and it was installed but ,NOW ITS STUCK ON BOOT!!!!!!
Its bricked , right ?
Where did i go wrong?
SAMSUNG GALAXY S DUOS AND SAMSUNG GALAXY S SEEM TO BE ALMOST SIMILAR IN SPECS.
So i still beleive i can port it.

Does any AOKP 4.2.2 build have Dual-Sim support? I need one to port to my device (Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus, having Mediatek MT6582 chipset) since it has no kernel source and/or AOSP source. It has a Kernel version 3.4.5 and many fully working ROMs based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. If possible, are there any built for a Mediatek MT6582 chipset? If there are, then please provide me with a link to the ROM. Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!
Hi,
I would like to port the novafusion lollipop rom from Samsung golden (S3 mini) to Samsung skomer (XCover 2). They both use the NovaThor U8500 SOC. There is a kitkat rom for skomer (vanir).
Does this mean I have all the bits available I need for the porting?
Can a kernel be used on different phones with the same SOC?
Is there somewhere a list what has changed in the source from kitkat to lollipop - or can I reuse the device tree from the kitkat skomer rom?
Have I missed the "[GUIDE] Port to another phone with same SOC" thread which answers all my questions - and the next to come ?
Best regards
Daniel
