[Q] Missing Status Bar in Slim Bean - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Morning Everyone,
I've been using slim bean in my vibrant for a long time. When I had slim bean about a month ago, I noticed something unusual. My status bar doesn't show up anywhere except on some apps and the lock screen. It's there when the phone's locked. As soon as I've entered the lock pattern, or passed through the lock screen, it dissapears. I'm using Holo, as one feature I believe is a must have is to swipe down anywhere on the screen to bring the notification drawer down, and swipe up to hide the status bar. These two gestures don't work at all. It bothers me to lock my phone to view my missed calls and other things, and the lack of a status bar is getting on my nerves. I can't even set a lock pattern, because then I can't bring the bar down while the phone's locked. I installed 4.2.1 RC 2 today, and I'm still experiencing the same thing. I did a full wipe before installing. I've played with every thing I thought could be causing this issue, but I can't fix it. Would anybody be able to help?
Thank You.

Same status bar issue
I just started experiencing this today. It was fine about 2 hours ago then i have my status bar after rebooting but as soon as i hit the home button it goes away. Nothing on my phone changed. No apps or updates. Very disconcerting.

It is a very simple solution. Hold the power button until you get your menu, then click on "expanded desktop". Bam,status bar.

CM7-DX2 cyanogen mod settings and how to configure them.

Want to start this thread for those of us that are new to CM7 like me. Looking for input on how to best use the capabilities of this rom. Any advice or direction would be great.
Example.
1How to change the battery icon to have a percentage instead of a icon.
Push menu button then settings hit CyanogenMod setting/ interface/ status bar tweaks/ battery status style. Here you can change the battery icon.
2 how to set CPU frequency (the speed your processor runs)
CM settings/ performance/ CPU setting. Here you can set CPU min and Max along with different governors like performance or powersave.
3 How to change notification power widget:
CyanogenMod settings/ Interface/ Notification power widget.
From here you can select what you want displayed in notification. (Widget buttons), order of the icons (Widget button order), and color under the icons (Indicator color).
4 How to set lock screen to delay the pin lock after screen is off.
Hit CM setting/ lockscreen/ delay and time out/ screen time out delay/ set it here.
Note: the following are my selections for the Security lock screen and the slide lock screen delays. You can change yours to what you prefer.
1. Select Screen timeout delay. I have this set to 10 minutes. This is the setting that sets how long to delay the security lock screen before it activates when the screen times out.
2. Select Screen turned off delay. I have this set to 10 minutes as well. This is the setting that sets how long to delay the security lock screen before it activates when you quickly press the power button to turn the screen off.
3. Make sure there is a check mark for the Enable slide lock delay setting. This ensures the slide lock screen has a separate delay from the security lock screen.
4. Select Screen timeout delay. I have this set to 5 seconds. This is the setting that sets how long to delay the slide lock screen before it activates when the screen times out.
5. Select Screen turned off delay. I have this set to Immediately. This is the setting that sets how long to delay the slide lock screen before it activates when you quickly press the power button to turn the screen off.
With these settings, my slide lock screen comes on 5 seconds after the screen times out, or immediately when I tap the power button. Then, in either case, the Security Lock screen comes on 10 minutes later.
If I tap a button before the 10 minutes expire, I am presented with my slide lock screen. If the 10 minutes has expired, then I am presented with my security lock screen. (The slide lock screen is never presented once the security lock screen has been activated.)
5 how to disable lockscreen.
CM settings/ tablet tweaks/ disable lockscreen.
6 how to mute camera shutter sound.
CM settings/ sounds/ mute camera shutter.
7 how to set quite hours were your phone automatically changes to silent.
CM settings/ sound/ quite hours.
Set for work or night or what ever.
8 how to put notification/status bar on bottum of screen.
CM settings/ tablet tweaks/ bottum status bar.
9 how to assign long press actions to your menu: home: search: buttons.
CM settings/ input/ long press settings. I set my camera to open with long press search button. Then search button to take the picture its really nice.
10 how to change music settings in CM settings.
1 CM settings/ input/ volume button music control.
2 CM settings/ lockscreen/ widget options/ lockscreen music controls. Here you can configure all kinds of settings.
3 CM settings/ interface/ notification power Widgets/ widget buttons. Here you can set play pause next and previous in notification pulldown.
4 CM settings/ sound/ here you can set the volume of notification and ring and alarm when music is playing.
11 how to change notification LED light settings.
CM settings/ interface/ LED notification here you can set color and how often it blinks for different applications.
12 how to change Wifi sleep policy
Seems alot of people were complaining about wifi issues in CM7 Beta post.
Since there is no blur to change this, and the only change we have is through..
Settings/ Wireless&Networks/ Wi-Fi Settings then menu button/ Advanced/ Wi-Fi sleep policy. By default CM7 turns Wifi off when screen turns off, I adjust mine to Never and no issues with Wifi. Reboot phone after setting.
13 how to change the trash can position on screen.
Hit settings then ADWlauncher/ UI settings/ trash can positions.
14 how to change lock screen back gound/wallpaper.
CM settings/ lockscreen/ styles options/ choose background. My lockscreen looks awesome now.
15 how to swipe across notification bar to adjust brightness.
CM settings/ interface/ status bar tweaks/ status bar brightness control.
16 How to remove app labels from icons.
settings/ adw launcher/ screen preference then hit hide icon labels. This should remove the labels.
Found this write up for CM settings thought it was very helpful.

No matter what I set I to as soon as I close my screen and reopen it, it makes me put in my pin again. Wish the delay would work.
A suggestion...If your going to do this put everything in the OP. Edit the OP as you find things you want to enter on it. Then give it a bump when you edit it with new additions as posts in the thread. Make your instuctions easy to read and idoit proof....someday youll have it as a Sticky

Here's something I figured out that most people probably already know, but just in case.
If you don't like the default colors of the status bar icons, in order to change them you have to go to Theme Chooser and then you can select a different color.
If you want more colors, go to the Themes & Applications forums for more themes.
For days I was trying to figured out in Cyanogen Settings how to change the colors of the icons. I almost went into ROM Toolbox to do it and then thought about it a bit and realized the colors are set via themes. DOH!
Yeah was about to use rom tool box for my icons to. Found a cool ICS green theme love it.

Any word on getting brightness notification bar swipe option functional on cm7 dx2 (where you control brightness by swiping your finger across notification bar)?
--nevermind, gotta hold your finger on it for a few seconds before you swipe.
screenshot
Long pressing the power button brings up the option to take a screenshot. Is this working for anyone? Anyone know where the images are stored?
Yes screen shot is working fine for me. Some times i have to reboot to get it to work. Screen shot image store in /mnt/sdcard/dcim/screenshot.

[Q] S Tablet and notifications

[SOLVED]
for the last week or so, I no longer receive notifications for new GMail or updates from the Play Store or Amazon app store. For that matter any other app (like Drippler) that adds a notification icon (lower right beside the time and battery icons) no longer shows up. I am running Nova launcher, but have tried going back to GO Launcher and also the stock launcher (rebooting each time). Not sure what else (short of a factory reset) to try, Anyone have any ideas?
Oh, should mention that if I swipe up or tap the notification area (clock and battery icons) I do see notifications in the pop up menu. Just no icons as used to be.

open quick settings menu by pressing the lower right hand corner of your screen, then press any where near date or battery indicator, there you will find a notification button.

Well! Found it, indeed the notification option was off. Turned it on and the icon Lookout reappeared. I think that may have restored the notifications.
Thanks so much for the response!

[Q] Icon Issue LG G2

I have an issue when I wake my phone. So when I select a theme everything is fine then when I lock the phone and wake it, the icons become off center and it looks all jacked up. Does anyone know why this happens and of a possible fix?
is it bcoz of the nav bar?
That's what I thought at first so I tried it on my girlfriend's Nexus 4 and it works perfectly over there. The only thing I saw different about the Nav Bar is that it slides in after unlocking, so Its not a persistent Nav Bar.
yep. Please send a bug report and suggestion to make Themer better.

[GUIDE] How to Add Battery percentage in status bar and modify layout of status bar

Source: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/android-marshmallow-tips-and-tricks/7/
1.) Tap and hold the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the Quick Settings menu. After a few seconds, lift your finger and you will see a popup at the bottom telling you that the System UI Tuner has been added to your Settings.
2.) Go to your settings and into system UI tuner. (it is at the bottom of settings.)
3.) Check the box to Show embedded battery percentage.
4.) Configure the way you want your tiles displayed and in what order under quick settings. Under status bar you can turn off features you don't use so they never show as an option in the status bar.
5.) Done!

I was using this a couple of Moto versions back and kept hoping they would eventually let you replace the battery bar with nothing but a percent, but it never happened. It's so small I find myself blinking to make out the numbers.
Yeah that why I used Gravitybox with circle battery and % but my old eyes have trouble no matter what..lol

Xposed is what I"m going to miss most by not being able to root. I used Gravitybox and Flat Style Status Bar to completely change the status bar around. I have always hated the default Android status bar. I like my clock in the center and nothing but a percent for the battery.
Does this work?
Does this actually work on the G4?
I have an unlocked UK retail G4 and the cog does not spin and the System UI tuner is not added to the menu.
Could someone with a UK model please confirm if this does or does not work for them.

Works on my US G4. Pull down notification, press and hold on the gear in the top-right for 5 seconds or so, let go, System UI Tuner gets added to Settings.

Yes, tap and hold the cog in the drop down notification menu for 20 seconds (edit XT1622, dual sim from Motorola direct)
After reading around on the internet I have managed to solve this. I had turned on the developer option and changed the animation speed to x0.5. This seemed to somehow break the spinning cog.
Having now turn that off again and rebooted the cog does now spin as it should! Thanks for the help.

Did you try turning off the Developer Options? That's what fixed it for me.
I did this on an amazon moto G4 with the stock OEM.img flashed in. The menu shows up, and I can make it show battery% and turn off status bar icons, but, none of the "Quick Settings" changes actually take effect, even after a reboot. Not a big deal, but good to be aware of.
If you would like to have a larger battery percentage than this gives, download Clean UI launcher. In the launcher settings go to components settings and you can select battery percentage. Make sure status bar clear is turned on. This will give you an IOS style status bar. If you do not want IOS styled notification screen, make sure notification clear is turned off. You do not have to use CleanUI as your launcher for this to work. I have tried this with Nova and Google Now launchers.

That's not common, because I have the same phone and looked at another and in both the quick settings take effect.
I also had to turn off battery saver first.
But I prefer it to show % beside the battery icon not inside battery icon, old eyes.

Status bar being blanked out on home screen / app drawer

Hey everyone got a question hopefully someone knows how to correct. Randomly about a week ago the notification / status bar has turned solid white blocking out the time, signal strength, app notifications etc. However this only happens when I'm on one of the home screens or in the app drawer. As soon as I open any app, the bar reappears. I've tried changing every setting I could think of. Nothing seems to bring it back. Any ideas? I attached two screenshots showing the difference.
Nobody has any ideas?
