Are there still issues streaming music via bluetooth on this phone? Was/is it only an issue for ICS? I'm looking at a few phones and this is one of them but I need, well, desperately want, to be able to stream via bt. Searching around I've seen where there have been problems.
Streaming media worked but bluetooth calling did not.

It depends on the receiver
A2DP audio streaming works great on all of the AOSP ROMs.
All Bluetooth functions work great on stock ICS.
I'm running the global ruu, locked and I stream music all the time. I also use BT for phone calls in the truck pretty much exclusively. Hard to hold a phone and shift gears!

I've had my Touchpad for all of four days now. I know their are not a lot apps, but was happy with the basics (browser, e-mail, calender, music player, photo viewer and Skype), but was also looking forward to using TuneIn Radio and Pandora.
I've had two issues with TuneIn Radio.
First, I have an portable Bluetooth speaker (Monster ClarityHD) that I use with my Android tablet. It works well with the Touchpad, except it won't work with Tunein Radio (works with everything else including Pandora). As soon as it connects I can't hear any audio and as soon as I unconnect it the TP starts playing the audio again.
Secondly, Intune radio seem to every so often stop playing and buffer the audio. Some times for for a short time sometimes for a longer time. I tried it with Pandora today and didn't have any issues. Maybe it was just a slow connection that day, not sure. Is this normal with this app?
PS... was streaming Tunein radio just now and it did it again, this time a very short pause before it started playing again. But I've had it happen for so long I just closed the app after 20+ seconds.

The second one is definitely a common bug with Tunein, just go back or go to another station and go back to the original station and it will work. Not sure about the first (bluetooth bug) I will test my bluetooth headset with it now.
Haha.... you must of posted just as I was typing.
Well, it a shame Tunein radio has this issue. Let me know how your bluetooth headset does. It just so odd that Tuneon is the only app that doesn't produce audio over Bluetooth.
Thanks!

BTW what Bluetooth headset do you have.
I used to have the Motorola S9 but the touch buttons stopped working from the sweat so I got the S9HD's that where suppose to have better moisture resistance, but they stopped working too.

Tunein definitely doesn't work with Bluetooth. In fact sound completely stopped coming out of the speakers when I connected my bluetooth.

OMG, it used to be bad, but for some reason TuneIn just constantly buffers for me now. I have it on Android too but it seems fine there, so I'm not sure what's up with the WebOS version.

Yeah, it works great on my Android tablet. I guess WebOS is the red headed step child of the OS world.
My car is connected via bluetooth to my G2x and MT4G and tunein has not issues with it. It plays great through bluetooth.
I just can't control it using the bluetooth controls.
So it must be some other problem for you.

This is specifically a TouchPad (WebOS) issue. TuneIn Radio works perfectly on my android devices.
just regular streaming my TP works fine in tunein and pandora webos and android.
now BT i don't have so :/
i just downloaded the app myself. I am running it on my touchpad with cm7 and it keeps on buffering and then says unable to start audio. I have never tried it with the webos. Is there a fix or any work around by any means?
So I know this is an old thread. But I too have a similar problem. I have a nokia 360 wireless bluetooth speaker. My touchpad has both cm9 and webos in a dual boot configuration. Tunein radio works great on android the bluetooth pairs and I can hear the audio through the wireless speaker. On webos however tunein radio will work fine for audio through the touchpad, but once it pairs to the wireless bluetooth speaker no audio works. The tunein app hasent been updated in a long time. In fact it still has the old icon logo in webos, the blue one with the robot. has anybody found a fix. Or is anybody else experiencing this problem. I prefer to watch and listen to stuff on webos because for some reason when when watching video while running in android and paired to the bluetooth speaker there is a quarter second delay on the audio and it makes it look like a bad chinese dub soundover, where the lips are moving but the audio isn't synced correctly but when watching the same video on webos it works perfectly. I can confirm the it seems to be a TuniIn problem. External audio works perfectly with all other audio apps in webOS and all apps including TuneIn in CM9 on my TouchPad.
BTW: It doesn't seem to be a bluetooth problem. Even with headphones or external speakers connected to the 3.5mm plug, I have the described problems with TuneIn.
I have bluetooth issue . When I am watching video with stereo bluetooth the sound is behind about 2+ seconds . I am running HC 3.2 . US Wifi BB model .
I tried original player , Mvideo player , BS lite . all the same . HELP !!
I have the same issue. No problem when listening on a wired headset.

Same problem on gingerbread as well, so not an HC issue.

This lag seems to be inherent on many mobile devices. It possibly due to excessive buffering within the firmware or hardware to maintain a stream.
As many know, there is no problem with the wired headset but I have also connected an external BT transmitter I have with my Motorola headphones to the jack socket and there is virtually no lag then, showing that its an internal problem, not just BT connectivity.
If it is not hardware related or needs a kernal fix then HTC should be able to address this, otherwise its down to Google.
Are there any video apps that'll delay the video so you can get it back in sync? I haven't found one yet, but surely someone makes one...
Sound on Linux and therefore Android is an absolute convoluted mess. The poor implementation leads to all kinds of problems. I'm not aware of any players that allow audio / video sync adjustment. Possibly when VLC player arrives on Android.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html
But 2 seconds??? not likely to be able to adjust that out. It would require too much buffering. What format is that in?
Hm. Just tried again and it's working perfectly. Awesome!
BB wifi flyer, GB w/ latest updates, Plantronics 903 headphones, and MX video player. Audio is perfect.
Video is HD tv, encoded by handbrake w/ AAC audio.
We've got twins on the way, so we just bought the wife a new minivan. It has bluetooth audio, which is a pretty slick feature. Up until now, I haven't used bluetooth on any of my phones.
She has an EVO 4G, and I have the 3D. I've noticed that when we're playing music in the van using her bluetooth, you can skip songs with the car's controls, and they'll skip on her phone.
But with the 3D, music plays fine, but to skip a song I have to use my phone's touchscreen. The car's stereo won't control the phone's media player.
I'm on CleanROM 2.5.
Does anyone know why I can't control the phone's media player through my car's stereo, but it works fine on the older EVO?
Thanks!
Hmm very weird.... I don't have built in bluetooth with my car but I use a bluetooth to fm transmitter that has music controls on it and the controls work fine. I use subsonic to play music. I also have a Motorola s9hd and the music controls on that work fine as well..... Have you tried to unpair and then re-pair the car to your phone?

Try connecting to media only. If that doesn't work try manually selecting the media player in the music app, and switch it to the car. If it still doesn't work, check the settings in the car's stereo, maybe there is a setting in there. Also, EVO 3D runs BT 3.0, not sure what EVO 4G has.
Do you have a stock kernal...cause my bluetooth controls work just fine with a stock rom and kernal

So this would be kernel related, as opposed to rom related? I'm probably going to update my ROM soon anyway, so we'll see if that helps.
Do any ROMs/Kernels support track information being transmitted over bluetooth?
Thanks!

Track information over bluetooth is a app thing I believe.
I can say I have used CleanRom 2.5 with bluetooth controls and I have no issues. Right now I am using Myns Rls1 and I have no issue with bluetooth controls.
Try a different music app.
OR, what other audio apps do you have? Something else, for example, like an audiobook reader, may have "hijacked" priority control of the bluetooth controls and that's why they're not working for you on the 3D.
I use them all the time, but sometimes I've had some apps take control of them and I had to delete them or try to not make them have priority.
Hi all,
First of all sorry for me English,
My question is, somebody here is using bluetooth connection to listen music? I get this table some weeks ago, and music quality is so poor. I had one IPAD 1 and I always use this way to listen music, I had no issues with IPAD and my A2DP receptor. This problem could be generated by hard or by soft? Do you know if we can get some bluetooth app to improve this situation?
Best regards and thanks in advance for your help
Issues
I agree the stock speakers are not that great. However most of the time I have listened to music/movies I have used my headphones.
I don't plan on using this for music much as I have an MP3 player for that, but mostly plan on watching movies.
I downloaded and use an equalizer app that helps out a lot.

Maybe, I didn't do me question correctly.

Before I used this way to listen music with me IPAD without any kind of issue, now with me tablet S bluetooth conection are no so goog. due to that I'm lookin for an app to improve me bluetooth connection.

I actually don't own any Bluetooth audio devices.
This might help, but without a bluetooth audio device I really don't know.

I will try it this afternoon (CET time) and I will inform to you tomorrow about results.
Many thanks for your help

i think i changed the settting the right way. audio through bluetooth still crackles through the speakers. I have decided to exchange the stereo for a different one. Everyone I have talked doesnt seem to know why. I guess we will see what happens. If this doesnt work I guess I will just to go using aux input.
I have this issue with just my wife's EVO, mine sounds great over Bluetooth, but hers has a horrible crackle, both stock JB, any ideas of what it could be?
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium HD app
Sounds like a bluetooth module error. Calls on older bluetooth at least is mono but music is sterio so it is different. Try a firends bluetooth headset to test. Get your phone replaced. If it still breaks or pauses. I think it is a heat issue. Also try mono mp3 or .wav format.

Why don't you just use a AUX cable, I had the same problem.
Are you Rooted?
Have you tried a Factory Reset on your Phone?
