Hi guys. Sorry if this thread already exists somewhere, but forum search only found he Google Now on ice cream sandwich thread. So, and to everyone who has now/new voice search on their device, what are your thoughts?
I personally wish that the voice/info cards activated more often;sometimes it just showed me regular Google search, and but with a very thin, rectangular box with the answer (see attachment). Recognition is quite good. The voice is more realistic than siri, and and response time is better. The inability to launch apps, make calendar appointments, and and set alarms on a different day are the only real annoyances. Knowledge graph is simply amazing. So that's my opinion. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
I was also a bit disappointed when i saw you couldn't launch apps and create events in calendar but i think Google Now is FAR FAR AWAY from being in final form this is just a testing release so they can collect information on how and when we use this app so it can become bigger.
I bet Google will release another minor update (4.1.2 maybe ?) with the new Nexuses that will have better Google Now included.
Come on guys, and in was hoping we could get a good discussion going here!
I've noticed its also good at responding to incomplete queries.
Hi there,
I've been using a Wear for the past few months, and got quite disappointed by the lack of really useful features. Ok, notification mirroring is kinda cool, but at the end of the day it's not a real game changer.
I tried creating something more useful for the Wear. When you get a phone call, the application will display all the latest interaction you had with the caller: your emails, shared events, notes, documents... (from Dropbox, Gdrive, LinkedIn, etc)
This is especially useful on business occasions. If you have lots of calls from people you barely remember (as I do), this can prove invaluable: you get an instant refresh on the person while chitchatting. And when you get to the real matter, you remember the invoice he sent or the event where you met him (or her ? :angel last year.
The app is on the Play Store -- search for "Anyfetch Companion" or visit play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anyfetch.companion
Anyway, i'd really like to get your heavy-wear-user feedback. What do you think? Is it useful? Sadly, I'm no designer, so Lollipop design ifs far from perfect -- idem, feedbacks welcomed.
This one's got me incensed! Answered a question on quora, can Linux be installed on a galaxy tab 2? Everyone said no. I said yes, as debian is installed via Linux deploy on my Wileyfox Swift 2, and supplied screenshots. 62 views, no upvotes, started to think I'm not believed...
So I record my screen, into about phone first, to show the android version, etc.. Then to Linux deploy, start services, then vnc viewer to start the desktop environment. Obviously opened a couple of apps, that was it.
Uploaded it to YouTube so as to post an edit on quora with a link. Processing for at least 30 minutes at 95% done then the following email

It appears that they don't believe me either! "misleading descriptions, tags" etc. is the only thing I can see that could possibly apply.
Any advice, as to what this may be all about, would be gratefully received.

But Paul , if I can call you by your name , this forum is about technical problem and support. This problem isn't about a bug or technical problem , but about the famous YouTube hypocrisy ( with thumbnail ) and another forum : Quora.
One advice :
If someone doesn't trust you or your advice , it's his problem . If I understand , you given the advice , if they don't trust it that's losed for them , you don't lose anything. I know this can be frustrating but that's life, too bad for them.
Now you're on XDA , not on Quora or YouTube , next time post questions about technical problems.
No problem, my sincere apologies. Should have put it in off-topic, please move the thread if required.
I looked everywhere on xda and am finding conflicting information, none of which involves the MiPad. Here is some information I found which may or may not be true:
Hacked screen recorder + beta rom enables it. Cannot find either.
Legal issues disable it. Cannot find reference to Xiaomi saying so.
Update in January 2018 enabled it on many modern devices. Many threads still say they don’t have it.
Use root. This is pointless since many games will ban you for root and one of the major uses is game recording.
Anyone know the true answer?
Hi all!
We just launched a new social media app on iOS and it's actually legit. Feedback welcome!
Since our official launch to the iOS app store, many of you have already joined us around the campfire to tell stories of your own. It’s been great seeing how creative the community is, and the general response is positive (4.8/5 avg. app store rating!). Even so, we’re still working hard to improve the platform and bring you the best experience possible.
Here’s what you can expect:
KEY UPDATES
Soundsuite:
SoundSuite lets you add a layer of audio behind your voice to make your captions even more engaging and immersive. Our idea was to help users create experiences within the caption, instead of limiting them to texts and emojis. This update expands Campfire’s core functionality in a way that truly captures the essence of Campfire, which is traditional storytelling meets modern technology. Everyone has that friend or family member that tells the best stories. They probably use descriptive language and animated gestures to convey the emotion behind the story. Our aim is to give you the option to emulate that energy by adding a layer of background audio that compliments the story being told. We’re really excited to see how creative you get with this new update.
Recording Limit Increase (20 to 30 seconds)
We heard the feedback from the community - Campfire users have a lot more to say. We want to give you ample time to get your point across, so we are increasing the recording limit to 30 seconds.
Adding Connections (Friends)
We know that sharing is caring, but sharing with friends is even better. With this update, you’ll be able to add people to your network and ensure that your stories appear on their feed.
In-App Search
This feature is pretty much essential to making your Campfire experience as seamless as possible. You’ll be able to locate whatever you’re looking for
In- App Photo Capture
You now have more options with photos you share on Campfire - upload from your camera roll, or, take the photo from within the app.
Stay tuned for more updates and feel free to try the app out and let me know what you think here!
Are you going to make a version for Android?
