Hello
i need help
yesterday, my htc one x+ went out of battery
then, it does not charge any more
i left it all the night plugged, but still cant startup
any idea ?
thanks
its a Stock Phone or customized?
Not even bootloader?
So it's completely dead? Does it boot to the bootloader by holding down volum- and power button?
Are you using a Custom Recovery there are problems with it when the battery gets down to zero. It's happened to me a few times, and I panicked the first time.
Plug it into the wall, hold down volume down, and then power. After 15 - 30 seconds, this should get you into the HTC Menu, I then chose Recovery, and from Recovery launch into System.

Thanks all of you for your help!
sorry for tardive response
it is a standart ROM (no operator) and rooted
here is how finaly :
- must plug it on the wall, not to a PC(dont know why)
- try to switch on with power + volum-down buttons
- after several tries , i get a fastboot menu
- tried all the lines ont the menu : but it never boot, never charge
- finaly, deseperated, i choose "shutdown" line in the fastboot menu
then it restarted correctly with htc animation - ouf - dont understand...
i will never let it go out of battery again
thanks again

It is important to know that the wall charger adapter has a greater current output than just the USB cable in a computer. The wall charger will always be faster (assuming it is relatively modern and has a sufficient amperage) in charging your phone. It may be better to use the one provided by the phone, but generally any wall adapter should suffice in a pinch.
I believe that since the USB is so weak, you either did not wait long enough to let it sufficiently charge, or it simply did not keep up. I've had phones plugged into the computer on charge mode and still have it lose power.
Also, if your computer was turned off, then it wouldn't have been pushing any charge to your phone anyway.

Last night I was using my phone and turned it on sleep due to having <10% battery life left. I tried turning it back on am hour and a half later and it didn't so assumed it drained, so I threw it in the charger but the battery didn't turn on. I left it in the charger over night. I woke up and tried turning it on but it still didn't budge. I tried letting it charge through both my macbook, my chromebook, several different cables and outlets, all for around 10 minutes each. My phone still won't turn on.. Nothing happens when I try to boot into CWM (volume rocker and power button hold method) I now think it may be bricked and I need to get it back to a working condition soon...
My phone is the AT&T SGSII (i777) running MIUI 2.3.7 1.12.30 (newest version) under the Siyah 2.6.3 (also newest version)
Is there any way I can fix this?? I saw somethings about these 'jigs' but is there a way fix it without using a jig and only using a computer? Can someone tell me what could possibly be wrong?? Please help me!!
*PS my macbook can dualboot into windows 7, otherwise my phone wouldn't be rooted
Hmm, LPM might be broken in MIUI.
Try this, I saw one person indicate that it worked:
Enter download mode by holding VolUp + VolDn when inserting a USB cable from a PC.
DO NOT try to flash anything - just let it sit there for 5-10 minutes!
After that, hold Power for 10-15 seconds until the device resets.
Again, DO NOT try to flash anything!
The other option is to find a standalone charger.
And next time - if it's at 10%, put it on a charger!

All the SGS2 i777 phones come with a plugin wall charger, why not give that a try.......
If you cannot find the charger, you can buy one for less than 3 bucks including shipping on Amazon.com

Good Luck!
Something similar happened to me, where the battery drained so much that the phone wouldn't charge. When I plugged it into a computer/outlet, it just power cycled because as soon as you plug it in, the screen turns on (pretty stupid actually) and full brightness shows your battery "charging". Due to the phone not being able to directly pull power from the outlet (from what I can understand, if I plug in a charger and take the battery out, the phone shuts off) it can't charge fast enough, due to the screen and soft keys taking up the charge. I may be wrong, but this is what I think is happening.
Only way I could solve this was to plug the battery into my spare battery charger which came with my two spare batteries.
The thing is I can't put it into download mode or even recovery. Whenever I hold the volume buttons together when I plug it into my computer to access download mode, nothing happens and the screen remains blank and off. When I try doing the same thing and also hold the power button also to access Recovery mode, nothing happens, and the screen still is off. Every once in awhile when I try turning on the phone (which is plugged into an outlet) the 'battery charging' screen pops up for a split second and turns off. I have plugged it into Several different wall chargers (all that are Micro USB including the one the phone came with) along with several different Micro USB to USB cables to try to charge in the computer. It's definitely not the chargers nor the cables because they work with other devices. I think my phone is bricked... DX
why don't you buy another battery and see if that works if it doesn't just bring back the battery.....good luck

If the screen EVER turns on it's not bricked.
I suggest leaving it plugged in to a factory wall charger (not USB) overnight.
Worst case you may need a standalone charger to put some "juice" into the battery. I know Staples sells a universal one made by Lenmar, but it's really overpriced ($50!!!!)
I use this and i love it. It comes with an extra samsung battery too.

If anything, head to an AT&T store and pop the battery out of their test phone and put it into yours. See what happens, sounds like there's an issue with the charger or battery.

Yup ran into that issue a couple months ago and just put it into download mode to charge. easy fix
Edit. I used a jig though.

Thanks for all the help! I ended up going to the at&t store and they told me the battery was defective. The guy was super nice and even though he saw my phone was rooted and had a custom rom he just told me that I probably should unroot only for the warranty but gave me a new battery for free anyway and was very nice about it. I also bought a jig just incase anything goes wrong again. But seriously, thanks to all of you!!
I noticed that my hp touchpad was shutting down while in standby. I immediately thought it was a autoupgrade and so when it booted up and started installing the new webos I panicked and hit the power and home buttons to prevent the upgrade because I have CM7 alpha 3.5.
When I booted it up again I could only see a battery icon with a question mark in the middle. I can't make my win7 pc recognize the tablet and nor does the hp doctor for the same reason.
Does anyone have a clue how I can fix this? I know that some people in the past had this same issue that was caused by faulty usb cable or not having the battery correctly inserted (for other webos devices) but this is not the case. Just before I canceled the upgrade I had 20% battery and I had it plugged in and charging.
Thanks.
Don't know if you already tried it or if it helps, but charge your TP with the original charger and your cable while the icon appears. After app. 2 h charging (should be sufficient) try to reboot it (power + mid button) into recovery mode (vol up button). If this does'n work (no reboot or something) try to force reboot (hold power button and press 10 times the home button quite fast) into recovery mode. After that, the USB icon should appear and doctoring should work (exept if you have created an extf3 partition which has to be removed BEFORE doctoring).
Hope it helps...
Best, z3no
I had it plugged in yesterday for most of the day and nothing happened apart from booting up to the same screen. Left it during the night unplugged and now can't get it to boot again. Just a bank screen , nothing happens. I have it plugged in for the last 2h but nothing changed.
Basics
Have you tried holding both the power button and the "center" or "home" button down for about 20 seconds? Release when you see the HP logo. That should force a hard reset. It saved my bacon when I had a problem caused by the new WebOS update.

thanks. I did it for more than a minute and nothing. I can't get any response from it now.
Try another charger, maybe the one you have is faulty?
There is also a posibility that the cable is now bad. I had a friend have the similar symptoms. It turned out he was abusing his cable to the point is was intermittent. He'd plug it in and think it was charging, just to come back and find it black screen, dead. He replaced it with his Blackberry charge cable (micro USB) and he's good to go.
I had the same issue with charging from day one I found that both of my touchpads
Had issues charging With the touchpad cables
the cable to me seems very flimsy so I went out and bought two blackberry cables and I have had no problems since then and the cables feel a lot better made than the hp cables
So just before going for extreme measures (aka open the device) I decided to phone HP that told me that they were going to collect the device free of charge because it's still under warranty (they confirmed that). The problem is what if they find out that I had and Ext3 with android on it? will they charge me for the fix? because the issue must be in the battery (once it can not even charge or boot). But can they fix the battery but then charge me because later they find out about the CM7 stuff? Thanks for your help
hi , i have a motorola atrix that will not boot up at all, it just shows a black screen and when i plug in the usb charger it shows a green light but as soon as i press power the light turns off. i have tried to boot into recovery mode via power button + vol down but nothing shows on the screen , not even a failed to boot message to say its bricked.
after searching google etc , over the 3 days i have tried the following :
1. power + vol down (on battery)
2. power + vol down (wall plug with battery)
3. power + vol down (wall plug without battery)
4. vol down + plug factory cable into computer (with battery)
5. vol down + plug factory cable into computer (without battery)
6. power + vol down + plug factory cable into computer (with battery)
7. power + vol down + plug factory cable into computer (without battery)
and then all of that with Vol up instead , just in case it worked.
the last thing to try is to throw it at a wall and see if anything happens but before that i thought id ask, does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be / what i should do ? from the information ive given above can you tell if its a hard bricked paperwieght or there is hope?
i would appreciate any help given, many thanks!
may sound insignificant but try giving the phone a few hours on the wall-charger, preferably the original one because it has more output than a computer usb port. I had the same behaviour when I completly drained my atrix between two flashs.
If the battery is drained completely, it is difficult to have it hold a charge again. I have read about people putting the device on charge for 3-4 days in such a state and just revive.
I have done the same with agm/gel car batteries by putting them on a low trickle charge for a week.

Any luck with this?
Same problem here
Well i have the same problem here, but in my case, it happened while the phone was on and plugged to the wall charger, it was charging normally but after some hours i went back to see how was it going and the phone was off, and nothing happened when unplug and plug again, the greeen led only turns on when plugged to the pc usb port without battery, but when i put back the battery it turns off and nothing happens
Here's the story: I'll try to make it as short as possible (I'll also put on a TL;DR at the end)
My phone is rooted, flashed to Cyanogenmod 11 nightly build, no problems when I flashed these guys.
I installed Lucky Patcher to patch an app, put some files on my SD card (bunch of PSX games)
just put it out there if that changed anything
My battery was low at that time and I did not expect that if I let it shut down by itself, I could still open it just like I do in the past.
Phone totally has no charge on my battery 0%. I plugged in my charger, the phone opens up but it only opens the M logo with Dual core technology (not the pulsing M). Tried to charge it overnight, still stuck on dual core screen, tried resetting using Power + Volume Down, and also going through where AP fastboot, BP Tools was, If I choose any of them (except for fastboot) it would redirect me again to the dual core logo.
sometimes I get lucky if I choose BP tools and goes to TWRP recovery (safestrap installed), tried to boot there and still no luck.
also tried unplugging charger while on the selection of AP fastboot and just shutdowns my phone. also one time it redirects me to one with a battery icon and a question mark.
I also don't have access to factory cable, can't buy one because it's not available in here in the Philippines, tried making one but I reaally suck at soldering, also when I opened up the wires, it only shows up 3 wires, red, green, and white, the other one I opened was only red and black.
TL;DR : Phone battery is dead, when plugged in charger, Motorola Razr Stuck on M logo (with Dual core technology). I also don't have access to factory cable, can't buy one because it's not available in here in the Philippines. Also there's no more Motorola stores that I can get a fix (I think they got bankrupt :silly
I really love this phone and I would really appreciate if I could get a quick fix
Sad, it seems that the questions here seldomly get answered, hope the experts go online soon

It's OK don't worry. Just charge the phone for about two hours, unplug the carger and faster reset the phone wiht power + volume up + volume down. This way you can boot to safestrap. You will see that battery is on 0%, so plug the phone in the charger and wait. Until you are in safestrap the phone will charge. The battery needs at least 5% to boot the OS, I myself prefer to reach 20 even 30 percent. Then on safestrap's homescreen press reboot, then system and after the phone reboots wait or press search when safestrap's splash screen shows and the OS will load.

It Worked! Thank you so much for your help. The only problem I have now is that everytime I get my battery low, it doesn't go on charge mode when turned off. is there a fix in that? But overall, the trick that you thought me worked, and I'm using that trick when my battery gets low.
It seems hard to get a fix for this issue, so I used the app "Tablet Auto Power Off ★ root" and set the auto shut down when the battery reach 5%. It gives me enough power to restart the phone when I'm ready to charge it.
For the first time I am actually afraid I really managed to brick my phone :-/
I recently flashed ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.3-20160822 but had some problems with the camera, hence I tried flashing gapps and google camera again, resulting in a boot loop, without the rom on internal storage. since resurrection came with CM recovery which couldnt access the sdcard storage there seemed to be no other way than to flash twrp recovery. After trying fastboot with a successful flash but still only going to cm recovery I flashed a zip with adb sideload containing twrp+stock kernel but possibly for a different device.
NOW my z ultra does not turn on anymore when pressing power, no reboot with vol down + power, no charging led when connected to charger, no fastboot with vol up and plug in and not even flashmode vol down plug in to reflash ftf.
The only thing I can make it do is hold power and volume up to make it vibrate 3 times.
I am really stumped, is this an actual brick or is there something else I can do?
please please please help me
edit:
tried pressing the red button on the inside as well, same behaviour as vol up + power. I have it connected to the wall charger it came with and the usb cable from my shield tablet (which I consider reliable) and hopefully charging.
ok so I let it charge over night and was presented with a continous red LED in the morning. When I connect it to my computer in any way (vol up down does not make a difference)
and flashtool shows repeatedly this:
02/033/2016 13:33:26 - INFO - Device disconnected
02/033/2016 13:33:53 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
02/033/2016 13:33:53 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
02/034/2016 13:34:01 - INFO - Device disconnected
Rebooted the computer, put the phone back on charger, two hours later I don't get a connection to the computer anymore. Right after plugging the phone in there is no charging LED indication whatsoever. I suppose when the battery is "full" it changes to constant red.
Maybe the battery is just dead, although I don't understand how that would have been possible. It did charge via usb now for +12h. Still in only red Led stage. when unplugging the LED blinks 3 times indicating a low battery which seems unlikely. I have switched to the magnet charger now, maybe this might do something, but it might just as well being similar symptoms from an entirely different problem.
I could replace the battery but I wont order one without anyone confirming that it might be the right move
tried reconnecting the battery like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ7nYfN_4eE
in fact with the disconnected battery I get red flashes but on reconnecting the phone does not boot up.
ordered a new battery..
installed new battery
plugged it into the wall charger, no charging LED
volume up + power gives me the force shutdown 3x vibrate pattern
screen does not turn on
connecting it to the pc with vol up, vol down, nothing pressed does nothing
help me please, I don't know what else to try?
Have you tried the original Sony flashing tool, maybe it works at a lower level before recovery kicks in?
