The author of Camera Remote has tweaked his app to work well with our GC100.
I usually control it over WIFI from my GS2, but he supports BT and Web as well.
The Feb 3 version only works with images 5MP and below. And zoom doesn't work right..
But the new version he should be pushing "soon" fixes the resolution and zoom issues.
And he said he will be adding video very soon as well.
Just a heads up. I like this one better than the Samsung one.

R: New version of Camera Remote works well
Which differences there are between this and official Samsung remote viewfinder for gc?
------------------------
Nexus 7 3G - Tapatalk 2
I like the remote download option.
More camera controls seem available.
The Bluetooth, Web, WIFI options are all better than the private WIFI hotspot the Samsung app creates.
(You can just use whatever WIFI network both devices are on or create a hotspot if you really want to)
And I like that remote video capture should be working very soon.
And, of course, a very responsive developer. He fixed the GC working with his app a couple days after I reported it.

Sv: New version of Camera Remote works well
Precisely the possibility to use whatever network you are on (instead of creating your own as in Case with Samsung's own remote) makes a huge difference from a practical point of view, for instance if you want to immediately share the photos downloaded off the camera...
Sent from a compact camera (Samsung Galaxy Camera, EK-GC100)
Here is the beta version of the app the owner sent me to test. He said I could post it here.
Not perfect, but works ok for now. He will be pushing updates in the market.
The author has released the official update in the market.
It not only supports the GC now, it also does video!!

Hi all,
I made a flashlight application for Defy. Check it out...
MyTorch
QR Codes for Market and AppBrain are attached.

The non-root method doesn't work here (Barebones 1.5.1 mod). The root method does.
I checked the Barebones 1.5.1 thread. It seems some users are having issues with the camera. If you have a camera related problem then non-root method will not work as it uses camera related APIs to get the flashlight on.
BTW: I use CM7 b6 and this app works fine on that.
Well, I don't have camera problems. It takes pictures, it records video. And before seeing this thread, I had "Search Light" installed which also uses the camera API, and it worked.
Well, could still be Barebones related. In which case, Barebones users should then opt for a different torch app (it's not like there's a shortage of those in the market ) or use the root method. I will keep MyTorch, the root method works great.
nice app. would be great to have a widget for easy access
Cool app, \ty

Or well... I can try to fix that for Barebones. I am working on a fix, will update soon.
The problem is I use my personal phone for personal and dev use... so I can't keep switching ROMs but I'll try to solve that issue.

Thanks. Ok. I will try to provide a widget in an upcoming release.
Just what I was looking for, looks good.
Thanks
Good app, easy to use and helpful, thanks a lot.
Thanks bro, i use FlashLight but don't like, this is a great app.
Update announcement - Widget support
Hi all,
I have updated my application with Widget support as requested by some users.
Lots of code changed. Let me know if you are facing any problems with this version.
Please let me know details of the issues as well via the e-mail address mentioned in Market.
Thank you for supporting my application by using it. It feels good.

Hi,
I learnt the Groupcast feature today by chance and loved it. Me and my wife have S III, it's very useful for us. However, we also have other Samsung mobile devices (Galaxy S, Galaxy W and Galaxy Note) around and it would be great to use this feature all over these devices. Is there any chance to add the Allshare Play app to these older devices ? (At least the Note)
Has anyone tried it ?
Thx.
no ideas ?
Guys,
I really would like to ask this again since it's a nice feature and we'd like to see it on other devices as well. Am I wrong ?
I believe the note can use the allshare app... Don't know for sure, haven't tried...

I went to a Samsung event this week and saw this too. Pretty cool. Not sure what all you need to make this work, but I know it has NOT been working on my HTC EVO 4G LTE even with the ported TouchWiz 4/NatureUI launcher. Of course it probably would help if I was running a Deodexed ROM. I will try this again after I flash one of those and see if the ported SecLauncher2.apk provides enough of a framework to get any of these S-*/AllShare features to work.
From what I can tell you need at least/some or all of the following:
AllshareDMC.apk
AllshareMediaServer.apk
AllSharePlay.apk
AllshareService.apk
PhaseBeam.apk
SecMediaProvider.apk [?]
Try backing up the originals of those files on your ICS Note and then porting them.
I don't think these features work on GB as they are dependent on WiFi direct and I'm guessing Sammy's implementation for that is probably different on pre-GSIII devices.
Hope that helps!
I came across this app called Tapestry, that essentially does the same thing as Group Cast, but much much easier to use. My friends have the GSIII, and to setup a Group Cast, password and all, takes 15 clicks. With Tapestry, it only takes 3! Moreoever, it works on any Android device, not just GSIII's, so you can enjoy the experience with all your Android friends. It only supports pictures for now, but that's pretty much what I use it for anyways. Lastly, the coolest feature that Tapestry has that Group Share doesn't have it that in Tapestry, you have synchronized pinch/zoom/panning, and also direct Peer-to-peer download by swiping down on the viewer screen you immediately download the picture onto your phone! What a cool way to share photos! You can check it out here.
Here is the improved camera app from the Galaxy Zoom. Biggest change that stood out to me is that you can now customize the interface to add quick shortcuts to your most used modes.
I don't have a rooted Galaxy Camera, so I couldn't test to see if this works on our devices since it doesn't install as a regular APK.
I got this APK via this thread but can't verify its authenticity personally, if anyone knows how to verify it, that'd be great: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2388496
Try it out and let us know if it works, it'd be great to get an improved camera app!

For android 4.2 not work on 4.1.2
This is what I have been waiting for ever since they announced the GS IV Zoom and Galaxy NX. I was hoping to see this new camera app integrated into a software update for the camera, however I haven't even seen an update come through for my camera since owning it. I know we have some amazing devs in this community so hopefully one of them has some interest in this camera to help make this camera app function correctly for our cameras.

Thanks for your inputs.
According to this post, Manual Camera compatibility checker and Camera FV-5 DNG don't work with a Galaxy S6 5.1.1, but it's possible to get RAW (DNG )files with Snap Camera HDR. Can anyone try this on a Galaxy S5 5.1.1. to see if it works ?
EDIT: This is a paid app, you can download the trial version here to make the test. Once the app is open, under "Other", check "Use Camera2 API". Then under "Photo", check "Save Raw Images".
if you like to use mhl adapters for your tv or car it wont work with 5.1.1 update
What? Seriously? Mhl doesnt work on 5.1.1? I use that to show my family members videos of my son's choir concerts i record! Freakin hell! If I can't enjoy Android L at all then I might as well coll back to Kit-Kat!

I checked "Use Camera2 API", but there is no "Save Raw Images" check box under "Photo". Maybe it's really not supported.
First of all only those with a OnePlus 2 / X / 3 / 3T / 5 on Oxygen OS ( or if you are using an OOS camera port on a custom ROM ) could actually benefit from this.
If you don't have the OnePlus Camera app then you could download the latest version of the app from app mirror.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/
( Version 2 of the app can only be used by OnePlus 5 owners and all the versions in between and including 1 to 1.5 can be used by OnePlus 3/3T owners. )
( If you are using a OnePlus 3/3T and want to use the OnePlus 5 camera app which has better ui but has some things broken(slow mo, auto HDR) can use the app from this thread : 1
So there will be two parts of this overview, in the first one I'll show you how to navigate basic things in the app itself along with the video stabilization capability it offers and what everything it shows means and in the second part I'll give you a basic overview of the the pro/manual mode this app offers.
[ The overview(s) will be in the form of video as it would easier for me to explain and much easier for others who are watching to understand. ]
PART 1
One thing that is commendable about this app is that it offers all the basic things in a non cluttered manner which makes it easier to use and navigate.
PART 2
If you are the kind of person who knows nothing or very little about manual mode then watch this but if you are the kind of person who knows everything basic I'll suggest you to give this thread a read : 2
So guys if you still weren't able to understand something related to this topic, let me know I'll try my best to help you understand that thing better.
Btw if you are a kind of person who likes to try different apps, camera apps in this case then I'll suggest you to try these apps which according to myself are the best( All of them can be downloaded from the play store. )
Free Apps: Bacon Camera, Footej.
Paid Apps: Camera FV5 Pro, Cinema FV5 Pro.

Just an FYI, The latest version of the Oneplus Camera app seems to force close on the Oneplus 3/3T (for me at least, LOS 16)
I've tested a various older versions, and based on my experience:
Recommended version: 'OnePlus Camera 3.0.37'.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/oneplus-camera-3-0-37-release/
Working:
+Photos
+Pro mode
+Panorama
+Settings/switching modes.
+Video
Known issues:
-Trying to use 'Slow-motion' will lockup the camera. (Can be fixed with a force close)
And it looks like the newest 'mostly working' version is "3.8.13 "
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/oneplus-camera-3-8-13-release/
Works:
+Photos
+Pro mode
+Panorama
+Settings/switching modes.
Not working: (...for me at least, Give it a try if you want)
-Video (broken on 3.2.X and up)
------
Many other versions [Example: ones between 3.0.37 and 3.8.13] gave me various issues, such as breaking auto-rotate, not saving images at times, random crashes, etc.
So these are the only two newer versions I'd recommend.

Sorry, I did not test for that,
I already spent waay to much time test for pro mode, and basic video function.
I'd say start with versions before 3.0.37, test every 4th update or so (to save time),
once you find a version with working slowmo test the 3 later versions to see when it broke.
