Delayed or Late Notifications problem - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is anyone else suffering from receiving notifications late?
For example even though a mail was sent to me at 11am my note2 received them at 2pm along with 4 other delayed emails.
At the same time all the delayed notifications for my facebook comes too
Does this sound familiar to anyone? And if so, found a solution or at the least source of the issue?

[Q]+[Poll] Android :: Repeat Notifications ::

Hi all,
There doesn't seem to be an option to switch off repeat notifications. Whenever I receive an email and I don't read it immediately, I'll get a repeat notification sound every 5 minutes or so until I acknowledge the email in some way.
I have looked to no avail, so am hoping that someone can point out where this option is. I have set up quiet time from 10PM - 7AM, but this isn't helping outside these quiet hours.
Hope you can help.
Thanks..
I think its a gmail bug. Except for me I get the messages report in winmo. Even if I delete them they come back. Fu!$&ng annoying. Even though I don't use winmo, I still see them if I have to do a restart or something
I've never bad this problem at all...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
I'm using an app called Improved Email. Not syncing to Gmail, but internal mail app grabs corporate exchange, improved mail to another exchange server and also a hotmail account. Still don't see an option to disable the repeat notifications..
Are you having this problem with Gmail, or a different mail app? Because there are a few bugs ive noticed with the Gmail app like mattfmartin said. Sometimes I wont receive an email in WM but the moment i boot up into Android i start getting notifications from old & new emails.

Hi, I don't use gmail at all. I don't have a problem receiving email either, its just that when I do receive emails the notification sounds keep sounding every 5 minutes until I go into the mail application and read them which I don't often have time to do so the repeat notification sounds become quite annoying after 15 minutes or so, especially at work where they annoy other work colleagues as well.
my phone beeps one time, then the orange light stays on until i check it..
this must be build specific.. perhaps post in the build thread.
I dont use gmail either. And I get the notification repeats for everything. It's especially annoying for voicemail, and it doesnt matter if I have new voicemail or not, I check all the messages and then the notification comes back 5-10 minutes later, then I check again and there are no new messages... It's just annoying really though, not that big of a deal...

[Q] Delayed push notifications

Hi all,
I just received new SIII from work (upgraded to V4.1).
I noticed that the push notifications are late over 3G or WiFi.
When i receive a mail from exchange using build-in mail application, Touchdown or Moxier the emails are receiving late in compare to my colleagues phones (BlackBerry, IPhone). Even when I mark a message as read in the application - i must re-mark it again as read in the outlook.
More than that, I receive late push notifications not just in email but in Whatsapp as well, delay of 3 minutes in average. I can ensure it because i receive few messages at the same time.
Have you encounter such thing? do you know how to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance.
UP!
Any one can help please?

Facebook Messenger notifications often delayed

Does anyone else have the problem of Facebook messenger notifications often being delayed, coming in an hour or more after they were sent? The problem isn't always present, but sometimes notifications just stop coming in and I won't get any before I go into the messenger app.
I haven't added messenger to Battery optimization exclusion or anything like that. Can't see how it would be needed as these are push messages with high priority which should come through to a dozing app. Any experience or ideas for a fix?
its been like this for me since s10+. i think this is a messenger account problem. just not sure. cuz when i was on my s10. i remember it working properly. untill it didnt. now, i switched phones. i havent really tested it since no one really messages me a lot but i also noticed 2 days ago that messenger chat heads had changed to bubbles.. when i looked at my setting, bubbles was tuned off. i turned that on. i dont remember turning chat heads off when i was on s10. but if thats the same setting, it could be why i wasnt getting messages. anyway... still testing mine on an uncontrolled environment.. meaning like.. if someone naturally messages me, hopefully i get the notif.

Seems quite a few people are having an issue but nobody knows of a fix

General Every year I try the latest S ultra model but im always faced with delayed gmail notifications

This has happened on the S20, S21, S22 and now the S23 ultra
setup from new or smart switch, played with all the battery optimisation settings and app settings but I always seem to get delayed gmail notifications vs iphone which has instant gmail app alarms 100% of the time.
I even tried this adb fix https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-notification-fix-works-100.3865551/ which seem to have worked for one day but returned to delays the next day (phone hasn’t been rebooted)
I’m paying £1300+ for a device, I shouldnt have to find my own fixes for this issue. Android need to sort this out once and for all, it’s been happening for years. Doze Is a pain.
you may say, use another email client but none support the gmail categories primary, social and promotions which I use a lot and works very well filtering emails, other apps have a unified inbox and I’d be forever receiving new emails.
lve now sent the s23 ultra back and im back on my iPhone, their gmail app is unrivalled Imo.
One day they will fix this!
Until that day then
I don't know why you felt the need to make this post after you already returned the phone when nobody can suggest anything to fix the issue but enjoy your iPhone I guess? It's your first post since 2021, someone probably would have had a fix beyond switching email apps by now.
Bye. Won't be missed.
For those who is experiencing similar issues try to put gmail in never sleeping apps category(battery settings)

Lol. Doesn’t work.
Just put apps that you need notification in milliseconds that they are arrive in never sleeping apps and you will be fine...
The issue is with the Gmail-app is my experience. When using gmail-account in Samsung Email-app, with setting to auto-synchronise on receipt, email notifications arrive instantly...
