This is for anyone who is rooted!!
Lets see those variant's cpu's you have for more undervolting and saving battery:good:.
Where can I find that Variant?
You have to have BLADE kernel by maxwen installed. Then use
Code:
cat /sys/kernel/tegra3_dvfs/cpu_millivolts
and it will be printed on top (process_id) is your variant.
Here is a screenshot from my device:

What is a variant, and where did it come from?
This is mainly the type of build quality your chip has and allows a more accurate way to determine how hard you can push you're chip with Undervolting(UV) and Overclock(OC).

AP37 have 2 different types (3 and 4) of variant's.Hox has 4 types.
Please note that there are even more variants in each variant. You can easily have a variant 3 and another person has the same but you still have different performance. "They qualified the chips based on random sampling of the wafers and mark the ENTIRE wafers as such. It just means that the "average" performance of that wafer is of certain quality, but it does NOT mean every chip on that wafer would behave exactly the same.... ". Remember the golden rule: No two chips are created equal!
Also people should not blame HTC as they don't test every chip Nvidia made. They only test a few and then the phones will go in to production. So if you want to rage at someone please don't do so at HTC

All credit goes to our Blade kernel developer maxwen and timlambo for his poll
I have variant #4 in my HOX+
variant 3. so which is which?
You can try undervolting by using blade kernel.
For example undervolting -50mV:
Code:
echo -50 > /sys/kernel/tegra3_dvfs/cpu_millivolts
For -100 mV just change value:
Code:
echo -100 > /sys/kernel/tegra3_dvfs/cpu_millivolts
My device has variant 3 and undervolted -100mV.Seems stable for my variant. Please just try and post your undervolting results.
Also i will have request for more undervolting support(for now max -100mV supported) for blade kernel from maxwen.
Best regards

Hi
Anyone care to share their profile and voltage setup they have for setcpu on samsung s2, if running it of course?
I am trying voltage settings but s2 keeps freezing with cognition 1.3.1 so keen to know what others have set.
Thanks
Its cpu/phone specific, so what works for me may not work for you. Experiment by knocking values down by their minimum value and your phone is still stable.
That being said for the past 2 weeks I've been running the following under volt on both ninphetamine and cf-root kernels with no data loss /instability
200/800mV 500/850mV 800/950mV 1000/1050mV 1200/1150mV
Good luck
Good to see this thread. I wanted to share my setup but didn't wanted to make a thread so I will do it here. I'm not going to write alot of crap, only some pictures so you can check it yourself. Only thing I want to share is that I froze some stock apps I don't use and running processes like whatsap, bln, widgetlocker, setcpu and some other widget services. And I have no lag or whatsoever because of the underclocked cpu...

what voltages do you use for 1400 and 1600? The stock ones are good, but as soon as i pull them down, it hangs randomly.
Voltage Setup depends on kernel as you all know, and CF kernel doesn't allow it, least in KF3 it isn't there.
And there is a dedicated SetCPU thread already made before,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158102&highlight=SetCPU
Regards.
I 've a rooted (SuperSu) XMP stock Gingerbread 2.3.4 build .84, with the Project Fluid build.prop tweaks and Init.d scripts.
I 've configured SetCPU to make the processor run at 368MHz, and made two profiles: One to run at 122MHz when the screen is off and another one to run at 1024MHz while playing GTA III, GTA Vice City and Dead Trigger.
The problem is the processor runs at 368MHz all the time, profiles aren't working (I know they aren't because the games run slow). What can i do to solve the problem?
I dint got actually what you are talking about. ?
I ever had any issues overclocking & underclocking my phone.,
Try selecting the governor - ondemand
IO scheduler - sio
Apply on boot tick it. :good:
Hit thanks if i helped
This is the problem: Processor speed doesn't change to 1024MHz when I start GTA Vice City, and it should, because I've made a profile to change processor speed to that value when I start GTA.
Thank you for trying to help anyways.
Edit: Here are some images of my SetCPU configuration.

Delete all the profiles and set the speed as per my 1st post hope it will work now , you have unlocked your bootloader yes..??
Sent from my Live with Walkman using xda app-developers app
I've switched to xNXT (ICS ROM). Now it works. Maybe it was some kind of Gingerbread bug. Thank you.
I want to know one thing, with the root and unlocked bootloader i can up the processor frequency again in the newest's firmwares with Kernel Adiutor for example? As we know Sony lowered down the processor clock in the newest firmwares, but this have slowed down the phone.
Sorry for the bad english
something you can do..Xd

rise Gpu from 400 (2.99,.147 firms) to 550mhz, +25%,but will fall some times for temp regulation, but you can improve how much with temp drivers,at same time improve the overall temp.
You can activate ZRAM and Init.d.
You can touch governors and schedules, and other tweaks of kernel,fs,etc.
You can improve, easy the battery consumption without lose performance. In the test of the photo, cpu temp was 57Celsius from cold.

This is the last firmware? How do you do that?
.112 or. 128 (.100 not test but I think would be close to 37.000) 2.99 and. 147 is waste the time.I have better temp, battery life and a 30% more performance.
I prefer 112,more bloatware,but more estable

Ahh nice, what firmware do you recommend for the E2363 model?
Equivalent to. 112 in your model. The bloatware you can remove with root. But is the same bloatware that any other free sim firm.

What settings do you use in that test( like cpu governor, temp drivers, cpu and gpu clock)?

Code:
neither I nor the forum we do for the partial and total damage of equipment
Information:
files provided you has been tested for more than 14 days some moderate use in achieving the not so normal temperature but moderate
Requirements:
Unlocked Bootloader
Root (SuperSU)
Root Explorer
Compilation: 26.1.A.3.111
Instructions:
- move the files to the path: /system/etc
- 0644 root permissions apply to files
- reset terminal
- download application Kernel Toolkit
- apply the following values
- and ready to enjoy
- They should use it without 3G data for 24hrs and 24hrs moderately during use as enough recommendation xperia overheating M4 be reduced
Faq:
I can try some other compilation: yes
you need to open bootloader to test the mod: only been tested with open bootloader and probably to do with the root closed bootloader is lost so you have to test
Files in folder Profiles i should replace too?
Yes
Ok, thanks
Thanks
I think Change In temp a little
Here is a mod, just the post script for system / etc.
It applies all changes for our device, so you won't need an app to change cpu frequencies on boot.
The settings are a little bit different, this version works without a wakelock, better battery life and no random reboots (used it one day)
http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5762cb99e306f/update1.zip
Instructions : install version from first thread (you need the profiles files) but the attached script.
If the device overheats it goes down to 400 MHz, and after cooling to minimum of 960, my settings say minimum 533 so overheat protection wins... But only the minimum value of big core, so this solution is acceptable.
Now, I know for a fact that this phone does NOT have OEM support for Android 4.4. However, LG provides a lovely open source program, so I do have two sets of files.
One is for building the kernel for the phone, with all of the OEM-specific files for doing so, including drivers and such.
The other is I believe to be the device tree for the US760, with a bunch of propitiatory code. I'm not sure what exactly is important there.
The latest version of Android this device natively ran on was Froyo, and then didn't receive updates because the device didn't do very well sales wise.
My main question is if using that code is worth it, or if I should just go with basing off of a generic AOSP device tree for the processor and seeing how things go. There's little to no documentation on this phone (GSM/Phone Arena don't have almost any info, doesn't even exist on Wikipedia) so it's a bit difficult to get accurate specs for the device, but here goes.
(From HardReset.info)
Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8650
CPU #1 Type: Scorpion
CPU #1 freq.: 1000.0 MHz (1-core)
GPU Type: Qualcomm Adreno 200
RAM Memory: 512.0 MB
Are those specs even enough to run Android 4.4? I don't mean run well by any means, but would the device even work?
My biggest concern is the dual screens. I don't know if it's a hardware switch or something baked into the kernel or something, but I'm not sure how well it would work if I based off of AOSP, or if only one screen would work, or if the phone just wouldn't boot. Here's a picture or two so you know what I mean.

Interested to see if anyone has any wisdom to bestow upon me.
Bit of an update.
Found out that the HTC Droid Incredible would be a great base for a Cyanogenmod rom.
