Anyone else lose it? I lost walkman and video player as well. Don't want to have to reset if i can help it. Any thoughts?
Get root explorer and look in system/app and vendor/app and see if you can find missing apps. You won't need root

I understand your reluctance to perform a Factory Reset, but I believe a Factory Reset is most likely the cure for your tablet's ailment. Yes, you will have to reenter your user information and reinstall your user apps, but hey, a clean install should be looked at as a good thing. For safety's sake, you should backup all your personal files (pictures, videos, audios, documents) before performing the Factory Reset, but it probably will not delete your personal files, at least it didn't when I performed a Factory Reset.

My phone keeps giving me a contacts storage FC. Tried restoring my back up and clearing all data but no luck. Could somebody please pull there apk and post it here for me to try. Don't really want to flash the rom again if i don't have too.

Did you delete anything from the rom? From what I understand about the blur contact storage is that all of those little social apps need to be there regardless if you are actually using them or not. If you deleted anything then reflashing the rom is the easiest way. If you didn't delete anything then you might need to switch roms or keep trying factory resets

I had this happen to me when I had the ICS version of Google+ installed on my phone. I uninstalled it and went back to the market version and all is well.
as unlikely as it seems, it was the blur_yahoo.apk from system/app (and its .odex too, I think) for me...just put them back in system/app
its the google + ics apk had that happen to me too uninstalled it and viola!!

Yea not sure exactly what it was but I just reflashed jokers rom and just restrored data through advanced restore and so it makes for a painless fix.

Exactly? My phone is currently unlocked and rooted. What is going to happen if i do a factory reset (inside settings menu)? Will it unroot and un-unlock? Thanks in advance.
Sent from my GT-I9100M using XDA App
Nope, it'll just wipe user data (apps), settings and everything else. It'll put your phone just like the same as if you just took it out of the box.
It doesn't unroot nor unlock the phone.
So the CWM app will remain on the phone?
Say the phone is already reset, will i be able to find and install all my apps in the market after i log in to my google account?
Sent from my GT-I9100M using XDA App
Should do, and all contacts should be restored if you backup to google...

Yes you will ... even the paid ones. When you log into market with your gmail , all installed apps will be in a list there...
Super cool. Thanks guys. First time android user here (obviously)

I installed poweramp and then uninstalled it and now it says I have insufficient space. I can install other applications just fine. I've tried the fix for the similar titanium backup but it didn't work. I'm on tasks aokp 4.0.4

Check your data/apps folder to see if the apk is still in there even though you uninstalled.
I already tried that but I don't see anything.

i had the same problem with TiBu only. No other apps gave me that error. I ended up wiping and reflashing the rom. Its been fine since. I had no idea what caused it. I first tried to wipe data on the Play Store but that didnt fix it either.
quertyaas, you were right I found the problem. I was looking in the wrong data folder. I was using astro but found it with root explorer.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA Premium App
Nyydynasty, next instead of reflashing, just look in your data folder for a TiBu related odex file and delete it.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA Premium App
good to know. I didnt think of doing that - lol
I was having some intermittent BT issues anyway, so a reflash wasn't completely uncalled for

Ya, for some reason when you uninstalled it the APK still remained in the data/apps folder. The app wasn't installed but since it was still in the folder, it wouldn't let you reinstall it.
Good first step to check if this happens again. Check the data/apps folder with Root Explorer (I should have mentioned that in my initial response ).

Hi,
I got a Problem with the Stock Gallery App of the Samsung Galaxy S3..
I managed to hide the Stock Gallery App using Audio Manager, which was a stupid Idea..
Now I can't revert that Process..
I have also tried to extract the SecGallery2.apk and push it to System manually (with correct permissions) but it just won't work
Any Help would be appreciated
Thank you
Maybe try uninstalling Hide It Pro (Audio Manager)?

Settings > applications ; and then clear the data for the app that you used to hide Gallery.

i uninstalled Audio Manager(hide it pro) and pushed gallery to system again and this time it worked, I can see the gallery app again, but after opening it crashes
permissions are -rw-r--r--, that should be correct, also tried fixing permissions, which didn't help

I'd personally do a factory reset and reflash the ROM, and restore apps from Google once you're reflashed. Should sort things out (bit overkill though!).
hmm I guess I'll do that, I've had to reflash so often, back on my sensation, I don't care that much anymore
thank you anyways

I know there are tons of threads on here about wiping your device to sell, but I'm more paranoid than most.
This has come from the shock I experienced with exactly how much data I've been able to recover by deep-scanning Hard Drives in the past that I thought was deleted/lost many years ago. This phone is going into a pool at work, so there are some things I don't want my colleagues, no matter how determined they are, to be able to know about me. LOL.
I'll delete everything I can see manually first, then if I carry out a wipe from the recovery menu, does this remove all the user files, photos etc 100?%
I know some pics were stored on the device itself, not on the external card.
No, factory reset from the settings menu should format the internal storage. As with most media this won't remove the actual file information from the emmc chip partition, only the allocation table.

But using this method, the files could possibly still be recovered if someone was determined and sad enough to do it?

OK, thanks for that. To clarify, it's not life/death, but I'd just like to prevent possible future embarrassment. Sounds like me manually removing everything then doing a factory wipe will do fine. :good:
When u mean manually, u mean pressing delete for everything by urself? Tat doesn't work too.

Run the mega wipe script for installing a new rom, then use kies to do an install of the latest stock rom for the device.
