Hi, can any one tell me when i try to upload a photo or a file to a web site from my tab it will not do it. It returns the browser back its home page. Let me explain a bit better. If I am on a web site and i click on upload file/ pic, the photo file does not come up all that happens is the browser then opens up another tab being the home page of that site. Any ideas
What browser are you using?

I have no clue why this thing wont let me surf in desktop mode. My home page is set to yahoo.com not m.yahoo.com and even then it pops up as mobile yahoo. Manyof the sites too that i open from desktop mode search open as mobile..... Its annoying. I have searched for a setting to default to desktop mode but cant find it. Any know if there is hope for me? How do i get around this?
In default browser, under advance settings. There is the select user agent

The user agent doesn't stick unless you're rooted, so I'm lead to believe. I'm using Dolphin which will let you select desktop from the settings.
Yeah, I use dolphin for pad and the settings stay in desktop. The stock launcher doesn't.

I have the stock on 10.1 so i guess thats an issue i just have to deal with. Im not about to root it or start modifying it, lol, i would do it wrong and for sure render it useless. Thanks.

Does the browser fc when you do a search?
Mine does that, very annoying.
It is working with Dolphin browser but the stock browser fc when search.

I'm having the same problem whenever I click the search this forum box the dropdown shows up and then it goes away immediately when I click on it. using a galaxy tab 10 and dolphin hd not rooted

Are you using Dolphin? Thats a known issue with dolphin.
Try using the XDA app instead of browser.
I have the same problem with the dolphin browser i get around it by quickly clicking the advanced search option, it is a little more tedious but at least i can search.
I am not really a fan of the xda app so this is the best working option for me right now.

Me to. Dolfin and now rooted still have the problem
Search button closes as soon as the keyboard pops up. Happens to me in Dolphin and regular browser.
Use opera. Its the type of webkit that the stock browser and dolphin uses. For some reason opera uses a different webkit. It seems to be a bit slower when loading web pages but its universally compatible with all websites.

Can't confitm. In Opera the search pop up won't even open!!

That's why, you have to use opera mobile.
I use opera and search xda all day long with no problems whatsoever.

Does anyone have a good browser? I'm using Dolphin HD and it's utter crap. Page's don't show when loaded until I scroll or zoom. The back button works awfully on it. It's unresponsive. Anyhoo, any good browsers? Other than Opera & Skyfire because they're both crap too. Cheers.

From what i have used over years the only proper browser is Dolphin HD, even on my rubbish Chinese cheap tablet its much better than stock (slow), opera (issues with browsing no visible tabs to click), firefox (cant even download files properly). Maybe You have some problems with Your S2 firmware ? try updating manually to latest becouse "Page's don't show when loaded until I scroll or zoom" looks like memory leaks not becouse of the browser

An extended (touch & hold) on a link will open a context menu. Then select open the link in a new tab. Is what works in Dolphin HD.
I've never used the default browser.

Just tried to do that, but, each time I try for a new tab Dolphin Mini loads and I get the tab in there. I haven't got a lot of good things to say about the stock browser. Probably because I use Dolphin on the phone and also the NT.

I was once able to get the stock browser to act as a normal desktop browser, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how I did it. Browser now constantly configured pages for mobile viewing.
Can someone please help me figure out how to make the stock browser format pages as a desktop browser?
