May be this works.
Can you get to the recovery? Twrp?
Download the ROM and try to push it via ADB. ( have you enabled debugging?) If it had external card, you could have put the rom on that and put it back. (i know it doesn't have)

Usb debugging has to be enabled for this to work.

Make sure you download the correct ROM.

To enable usb debugging, if it is not, you also need to learn fastboot. By doing this, you can boot a custom recovery, which in turn enables debugging and adb, which in turn may teach you something if your brother has not yet.

it has team win recovery project and from there i was able to get my phone connect via sideload but now another problem that I am facing is that when i push any ROM to phone it usually didn't detect it. Phone is not accepting ROMs. I guess I am skipping MD5 part. What is the purpose of MD5 ? and how i gona use it ?

MD5 verifies the integrity of a file, it is a file hash. What doesn't detect? adb devices does not show connected? Where does sideload push the rom to? Excuse me, but im accustomed to doing things manually.. Im guessing its going to depend on the version of operating system, as well as the version of twrp. Do you have a factory rom from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images? I have not yet used twrp either, so excuse me there also.
this thread should fix your issue, at least the no os issue, nevermind your brother's data. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895

Can you try this :
1 - Exit Flashtool
2 - go to x10flasher_lib folder inside Flashtool install folder and edit driverid.properties
3 - remove all lines except this one : flash1=VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE
4 - Restart flashtool
So now we can flash costum kernels even if we dont have fastboot on device right?
Doomlord you should reall make a tut for this.
Thanks in advance

those devices have hacked bootloaders to support flashing custom kernels...
since new xperia 2011 device already support fastboot there is no need to hack their bootloaders... simply unlock them... the official or unofficial way

ah ok, thanks for clarifying.
I'm new to the new mini pro so please pardon my ignorance.. I've been reading through the forum and even though it is possible to unlock the bootloader on a branded phone (like i have), it is not possible to enable fastboot on the branded phone? For people who have this problem is it going to be forever impossible to flash custom kernels?
thanks
Thanks for the info i have unlocked my bootloader with the hardware trick
so now i can flash costum kernels and roms
Thank you Doom so much
Here is a small update that resolves the following issue :
Device not recognized correctly when plugged.

EDIT: for clarification, I have the same issue with the same phone.
I don't have the driverid.properties file in that folder.
shall I create one? EDIT - I tried that, didn't do ****. Something wrong with my install?

Install 0.5.0.0 then install 0.5.3 update and you shouldn't have anymore problems.
the driverid.properties file is removed with the 0.5.3 update. No more used.

I just installed flashtool for the first time, (0.5.0.0 with 0.5.3.0 over it) and I had the same issue, that flashtool does not recognize my usb debugging settings.

Hi,
I changed from MTP to MSC which didn't seem to help at first, but now when I reconnect, more is recognized.
I'll still give you the output:

thanks

The problem is that all these case can be detected by program by I go on step by step and each time someone get stuck, I get some info and I go one step further
My goal is that flashtool will detect correctly how your device is connected and give the advice itself
OK thanks guys (by the way, my phone is not unlocked, maybe that's why I couldn't get to flash mode?)

I have got this phone off a friend it was on 3 network it has never been flashed rooted ETC but he got a new phone and he hasnt used this phone in about a year and when he put it on charge to turn it on it just started flashing red light.
I firstly tried a new battery but no luck
then i got told to use fashtool to flash it using the generic 3 uk firmware, but if you could link me to a guide/tutorial of how and what i need to do it will be greatly appreciated

It's out of charge! !!!!
Just plug the charger. & wait about 5 minutes then press power button.
Hit;if nothing changed try a new charger, last solution is Sony service center cause its not a software problem.(if you didn't flash a rom)

[SOLVED] Could not verify system update?

Hello everyone!
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but here goes nothing:
I'm trying to update from version 32.0.A.6.152 to 32.0.A.6.200. When it completes downloading the update, it just stops and says: "Could not verify" and no other details.
And yes, I've unlocked the bootloader, if that matters. I'd really love to have the update, is there any workarounds or solutions for this?
Thanks in advance!
E: So there was a subsection for questions too... Silly me. Mods please move?

I'm not entirely sure so anyone, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the reason it won't install is because of root and/or unlocked.
You can download via xperifirm and flash via flashtool.
If u don't know how, try to search a bit because there are plenty of guides about it.
BTW, when u open this thread in browser you can click the triangle "!" button below your post to report it for thread moving.
I could do that too but I prefer to tell you so you can request a moving yourself

I still need some help with the Flashtool. Did I build the .ftf right if I choose everything but the .ta files (following this guide)? Also, which things should I wipe when selecting firmware? There's APPS_LOG, DIAG, SSD and USERDATA.

xperia z2.. tried to root but goof up

Hello..
Please Help... i am not very good in sofware but i always keen in learning and XDA forum gave me knowledge best required in android world. With this confidence i had success in rooting galaxy n7000, asus max, galaxy plus ... with sony xperia z2 i was skeptical but i took the challenge, i unlock the phone and followed the steps for rooting "(Tool) (Locked & Unlocked BL) root and recovery for 23.5.A.1.291 WITHOUT downgrade ! by By rocker00," and boom goofed up. I tried to flash ftf stock with flash tool it gives error root access denied. Pulling my hair what to do i tried to figure out but in vain. I send the phone to service centre they say that mother board , battery issue has to be replaced estimated charges so high that i could buy new phone. My gut feeling, this being software issue can be solved. Hence, i plug again to Flash tool where it gave me report as under. The phone does not response to any buttons but when connected the led light red blinks indicating battery charging. the flash tool giving report.... hence its still breathing.. how to make it active and playfull wondering.. Hoping forum can do the magic for me.....

Tried with userdata wiped too? And make sure you plugged in your phone to the driver-installed-flashtool-installed computer in flash mode (download mode).

motherboard , battery issue has to be replaced estimated charges so high that i could buy new phone. My gut feeling, this being software issue can be solved. Hence, i plug again to Flash tool where it gave me report as under. The phone does not response to any buttons but when connected the led light red blinks indicating battery charging.

If LED was blinking red, it is no sign for charging, instead it indicate kernel error (soft brick), follow my advice above and see if it works.

Yes you definitely should.
In flashtool menu, you have to INCLUDE all and EXCLUDE none when flashing a FTF.
Please use flashtool v0.9.18.6 for stable result.

forgot to point out, its not the flashtool for s1 devices or whatever, its the sony mobile flasher by androxyde
The error is for the rooting option, just wait for it to prepare the files and after a few minutes it should show you the pop up window to connect your phone and hold the buttons.
Also 9.18 had some problems I'd recommend using 9.15 for flashing Kitkat.

I wish you luck, if you've replaced your broken display before it doesn't work with custom roms. Only the stock roms and a few custom ones based on stock will work. Also saw someone using Xperia companion to fix things but you have re-lock your bootloader.
