If you have seen the latest ParanoidAndroid ROM, it has a new feature called PIE Control, a new way of accessing your home buttons and shortcuts, if you haven't seen it...here is a look at it..

Description:It’s called LMT Launcher, and it has been around for quite some time – November 2011 to be exact. Its set of features is quite close to the PIE from PA’s ROM which is shown in the picture above, but only requires that you be rooted in order to use it. It’s one of those apps that you could probably spend a couple of hours with, tweaking and testing, until you find a setup that you like. But the basics are this – it allows you to setup regions to swipe from to access the PIE menu (pictured above), use gestures for completing actions, and set invisible swipe areas so that you can perform tasks from anywhere. There are custom color options, buttons that can be turned to actions in the PIE menu, and so much more. So for those of you looking for PIE goodness while remaining on stock or any other rom(since there is no updated PA for amaze yet), this is an option.
(tested and 100% working)

What You Need:
1) Phone should be rooted
2) LMT Launcher
Downloads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
How to Install & Use:
Step 1. Download the latest version of LMT launcher from XDA.(link given above) Then install it using ES File Explorer app or any other File Manager app
Step 2. Open the LMT app, and hit “Start/Stop TouchService” to start the LMT launcher. Also, you can set “Autostart TouchService” to value 1 if you want it to start when your phone reboots
Step 3. For the gestures to work correctly, you will need to set “Set gesture input”..select your device(HTC Amaze) from the list
Step 4. Test your new PIE control by swiping from the center right-side edge of your screen. You should see a “basic” PIE control shown in the picture
Step 5. You can change the color of your new PIE control in Settings under “Pie Colors”.
Step 6. Also, the PIE Control defaults to the right side of the screen, you can also activate it for left side of the screen (for left handers), bottom of the screen, or even have it activated for left, right, and bottom.
Step 7. Next, you can customize the PIE Control buttons any way you like by going to PIE Settings and setting them up to 10 buttons and also 10 longpresses.
Step 8.When you add an app, you might not see the logo of the app..
Simply set “Show app images” in settings to 1 or 2 to make it show app logo.
Voila !
Step 9.If you set all of your buttons, you should see a nice PIE Control with 10 shortcuts!
Step 10. You can also add gesture shortcuts easily. First, make sure “Set TouchService mode” is set to value 1 otherwise they will not work.
Step 11. Next got to “GESTURES” tab and add your favorite shortcuts.
Step 12. Also you can go to “ISAS” tab and set invisible swipe shortcuts.
How it looks on Amaze :
Once you are done setting your PIE Control and gestures, you are set to go.
Have Fun !

it will work on any rom based on any android version !!
It is nice and I like it but a little unstable in CM. Thanks for being it to us.
1.How do you get the pie to show?... Just a touch!... Not a gesture
2.No htc amaze in the list on either of the last 2 versions (like instructions say)
3. Got it working.. Made the touch area waaaaaay bigger 50x160
Last version I got a very narrow black bar on the left... Otherwise Nuthin.. Second last version of Nuthin +fc's.....
Black bar is temporary... Shows you the touch area... Original setting is waaaaaay too narrow for my sausages
If I wanted a comeback outta you... I'd scrape the roof of your mouth...
If you want mine,. it'll land between your shoulder blades soon enough.
on amaze with speedrom 9 working fine

Just so I'm clear, what kind of help are you asking for at this stage? I can help test the product but I haven't done any mobile development.
If you haven't done developement just Keep trying it and report bugs! If you have special wishes or ideas for the GUI you are welcome
Im just programming the Launcher Part
All I'm after is an app that uses motion for unlocking. In the purest form it can be like the iPhone unlocker where there's a bar to slide but, unlike S2SU, the bar should be positionable and it shouldn't write over anything else on the screen. That means if you have something like SpB Mobile Shell, when your phone is locked it shows the Now screen. I would want to see the Now screen still. Here's a mockup:
{

More advanced features can be things like custom-defined motions for unlocking including no visual hints which in effect will function like a password. As for functionality outside of unlocking...it doesn't really interest me because so many other applications already do that. Is there something you need tested now? When I ran it, it didn't seem like it was at that stage yet.

IMHO, "Invisible Lock Screen" and "Gesture to Unlock" are 2 distinct challenges. I agree it would be cool to combine the 2. But you may need to prioritize those 2 efforts.
My personal opinion would be to implement a small, very efficient gesture recognition module that generates an event based on the a successful gesture match. It would be like "Gesture 2 Action". Then others like A_C could perhaps integrate or make it an option for S2U2. With G2A, then again, it could be used to do anything - launch an app, set an alarm, disable bluetooth, etc...
The invisible lock screen would be nice also, but I think it presents entirely different challenges.
I will reupload Preview B in some minutes, there you will be able to Launch programs by Gestures
You can configurate it in a text file
Scilor, aren't there already apps that launch programs via gesture? Touch Commander is one. I'm sure there are more. What are your development priorities?

I guess what I'm after is what's not available now. To start, a very simple low-impact unlock slider that doesn't override the visible screen, and to finish a custom-motion unlocker with option to hide the visible hint i.e. slider track.

That's true. If the primary purpose of this new app will be to one-up Touch Commander with complex gestures, I guess that would be something new.
I just Uploaded the new Version!
now you can launch programs with it (configuratible in the gestures.cfg)
interesting app, works on my touch. Thanks!
I just uploaded a new Version Alpha 0.0.1
I little improved the gesture recognition and made it a littel bit Skinnable
Iam Primary working on a Launcher, because i dont' know how to block buttons, if iam able to do this, i will implent the Locking function
interesting project but in future it should be possible to make gestures in any app!

It really looks like a nice and fresh application.

I have installed the program and it looks very good on my device. The problem i found is that when starting the program the first time i can add one city and then it goes to the program screen. When i want to add more cities it opens the adding windows, but there is no keyboard accessible to type in the city name. How should i do that?

This is cool !! Similar to Pie control on PA roms.
Watch the video to see what it does - if you like it, get the latest version and follow the install instructions.
Once installed, go to menu - Set Gesture Input and check number 2 (Nexus 4, etc.)
Reboot may be required, after that it is smooth.
Please note the OP says you must go completely to the edge of the screen to activate and can be a little tricky at first if your phone is in a case. Enjoy !!

So I'm rocking it. Liking it so far but I keep accidentally opening it when swiping between pages. I tried the bottom and top locations for where it opens from but it's cut off. Guess I'll have to get used to it.

I'm loving this pie control so far. It's the best of both worlds for me. Full screen real estate and on screen buttons that are easily within reach.

This is seriously a great find. I haven't been using it too much, but have it all set up and like having the option to use it. And I was expecting some interference while swiping, but that's nearly nonexistent.

The more I use this the more I like it. I've put it on my Nexus 7 as well and then removed my nav bar giving me more screen there too.
One question: I'd like to put my app drawer as a long press of my home button, but I don't see any associated process when I look in "Activity." Does anyone know what the actual name of the app drawer is, or where to go to enable that function?

I know on Apex (and I'm assuming Nova) you can set a gesture in the home screen to open the app drawer.
I always set mine to swipe up, like the old school android app drawer.
If you can still use your hardware buttons, you can also set the home button to toggle the app drawer/homescreen in most launchers.
Been using this on and off for a almost a year now. Sometimes I'm in love, other times it gets in the way.
I'm using LMT along with Swapps (free on play store), which is a perfect combination. Now, I have no reason to open the app drawer and my homescreen only contains a weather widget.
thanks

MiLauncher for Tablets
I'm proud to announce the overhaul of the MIUI Launcher for Tablets.
It's been a very long time since I've updated the project, as when I left it, (due to not owning a tablet any more) I believed that it was working as I had intended on Tablets, sadly, as of Android 4.3 that was no longer the case.
With the release of Android 4.4 I obtained another tablet and decided to update the project. This is the result of my work, my research and the help of a few others, who will be mentioned below.
Please, provide feedback, hit thanks, and most importantly, enjoy it. Please understand that this is currently in beta, the bugs that it currently contains are all small graphical quality of life ones, and I'll be getting right on those.
As someone who is studying full time, please understand that I don't have a lot of free time, but I'll do my best to update this regularly and respond to any concerns or issues you may have.
I do not give permission for my work to be redistributed, direct linked or posted anywhere else other then XDA-developers.com or en.miui.com forums. Anyone who shares this must post a link to this thread and give credit.

Android 2.3-4.4 support

Beta 1:
31st March 2014
Initial re-release
Based off MiHome 2.22.0
Resolved an issue where the launcher would not open on Android 4.3 and 4.4 devices
Not really a ton to say as of yet
They're probably a little giant, brace yourself.
Bug or Graphical Issue / Work around
Beta 1:
The weather clock 4x2, Clock 2x1 and Clock 2x2 do not appear graphically correct on the HP Touchpad.
> Pending further feedback from other devices.
In the Launcher Settings -> Launcher: There is text that does not appear in english.
>This is the Hide Apps With a Pin Function.
Static Wallpapers seem blurred when using this launcher on the HP Touchpad.
> Pending further feedback from other devices, not sure if this is device specific or not, Live Wallpapers Seem to Work Fine.
There is text that does not appear in english in the themes market
Obviously as the market stuff is server side, I can't change that, however there may be a few local images > Pending further investigation.
MIUI Express Locker is terribly scaled, low res and buggy
> Disable Express Locker, which is stated in the install instructions anyway.
This is something I'm still looking into and I'm not sure if I can fix it, generally it's about as buggy and slow as most lock screen replacements anyway,
not sure if they've improved that from the last time I used MiHome on a phone > Pending further investigation.
If you have an issue be it graphical or performance based, the first step is to make sure it isn't a bug from your rom,
if you've excluded that possibility post in the main thread, for me to be able to do anything with it, you must include;
Code:
Your Device Name
Your Android Version
Your Current Rom
Your Device DPI
Version of this Launcher
The problem.
If you haven't followed the install instructions below, don't expect me to do anything to resolve your issue until you do.
Part 1:
Download and Install MiHome-Step1.apk
Once the launcher loads slide up from above the nav bar and hit "Launcher Settings."
Scroll down the options until you find "Cell Layout Type"
Hit it and select the option that suits your device best
Please choose wisely because you'll need to re-install the app to change this.
Part 2
Download and Install ZSC.mihome.BX.apk, (X being the latest version number)
You will be prompted to update MiHome, obviously confirm it.
Once MiHome loads, you may or may not notice a rather mangled looking clock widget.
I am aware of this and for the moment, delete it.
Head into launcher settings, if you don't have a physical menu button look in the next section.
Hit the "Lockscreen" option, uncheck "Use MiHome Locker",
this is the lockscreen replacement Xiaomi includes with the launcher.
It doesn't play well with larger screens or landscape as of the moment
Optional But Very Recommended
If you do not have a physical menu key,
long press an empty part of the screen and hit the "Toolbox" icon.
Select the "Launcher Settings" icon on the far right.
You'll see the icon is on your home screen, open the settings.
Hit the "Launcher" option, look down at the last option "Choose Swipe Up Gesture Function"
Hit it and select the last option "Swipe up to open Menu."
Now you can view all your options by sliding up from above the nav bar again!
If your transitions seem slow, or strange when changing home pages,
Head into "Launcher Settings", Hit Launcher
Hit "Screen Transition Effects" and select something other than "Classic",
This is optional, but Classic looks silly and makes the launcher seem less fluid.
It may also appear strangely on some devices.
Beta 1:
Step 1 - Refer to the Instructions
Step 2 - Refer to the Instructions
Code:
I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device, but I highly doubt anything will.
Hi,
just installed the new PIE update on my Galaxy S9+
Tested the new gesture navbar and would really like to give it a try in daily usage
But what I don't understand why is there such a great gap between keyboard and bottom of the screen
If I use the Gboard Keyboard there is no gap
Is there a setting a did not find or do I need to reset my phone?
The gap is still there even after deleting all data of Samsung Keyboard
PS.
I think there a still many bugs tied to this new form of navbar....
as some apps loose there ratio-.-
they've left the gap because people are used to the keyboard being higher because of the nav bar
complaining here won't do anything, you should send the feedback to samsung via the members app
i was wondering this too, too silly.
also where is setting of frame of the app icons? i was using frameless, but couldnt find option in pie.
I think they prepare for s10, same as the way apple make on ip x and xs max
I thought it's there for the keyboard case, so the key would punch the right place. But there're no keyboard case for the S9+.
I believe they bumped it up so people would stop hitting it using gesture navigation. We are still in beta so who knows, they might move it back down.

I'm on the stable version and it's still there, so that's nice.
I think there is nothing we can do. So i started using SwiftKey after the pie update
They are already testing a version of Samsung keyboard that can adjust the bottom gap in Korea with Note 8 Pie beta and they said that they are working one for note 9 and s9.

I was about to download that, but playing with stock after messing it up, I figured out a no-software fix.
Simply resize the keyboard, and you can drag it down:
1) Click the 3 dots in upper right corner of keyboard.
2) Click on Modes.
3) Click on Keyboard Size
4) Drag lower bar down.
Enjoy!
I also made a hair wider, but that may have been from my earlier screw-up.
Edit: I have an S8. Some people have replied that this doesn't work on all phones.

Cool, that made it come down almost all the way. I used to have the apk for this on my S9+ but it doesn't work on the S10+
