[Q] Off mode charge - HTC One X+

Finally TWRP 2.4 - HTC One X + (AT & T) can charge the battery with the phone off?. In the official website says no, many people say yes. I'm waiting for this confirmation to install the recovery.
questions:
What happens if after installing the recovery my phone runs out of battery and is not charged by the recovery?. How I can charge the battery?

Lloir fixed issues and made it official - everything works, even off mode charging

This means off mode charging IS working in the official release V2.4.1.1. I installed the official release earlier and charging works great. This is indicated by a + after the battery percentage. If your phone runs out of battery after installing the recovery, plug it up. Thanks Lloir!

Lloir's most recent post clearly states OFF MODE CHARGING IS WORKING ON BOTH AT&T AND INTERNATIONAL. Now I do understand the desire to verify so: Download the latest image from the twrp website (2.4.1.1) and flash it via fastboot (I RECOMMEND AGAINST USING GOO TO FLASH, PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED PROBLEMS). Boot into recovery and verify the version in the top right. ADDITIONALLY, while in recovery plug it in and WAIT up to 2 minutes. The batter percentage should change from 66% to what ever it is AND have a + next to it. Example : 98%+
This percent change with a plus will indicate that off mode charging will work.

Really great work with everything. Hats off to the devs

OFF Mode Charge works fine for me.

Is my phone bricked? If so, what do I do?

I was running Lite'ning Rom (v2.7 I think) until a few days ago until I flashed to the new version of resurrection (v.2.5.3), my phone worked for the last few days but now it seems that the battery is no longer charging either from AC or from USB. The battery is now at 0% and won't enter download mode and isn't recognised by Odin/Kies/etc...what can I do? Looking for any helpful advice at all. I think the phone itself is working fine apart from the charging issue! Thanks for any advice and apologies if this is a stupid question!
Edit: When switching roms, I followed the proper extended instructions (wipe data, cache, dalvik, etc.)

Well it seems to me that it has nothing to do with the rom. I looks like to me that your phone just broke, so i would go to best buy or some other company that fixs phones and have them look at it.

OK, I've managed to get it to turn on by leaving it connected to USB for a long period, it gets to the home screen (which is absent of icons) and then loads the android system page (which is absent of everything but the title). Then it goes off before I can do anything. Still haven't managed to get it into recovery/download mode though, it says that the battery is too low for download.

Ok, to update- I have reflashed resurrection rom via CWM and it is no different in terms of the problem. I have however worked out that it charges while in recovery mode which to me suggests all may not be lost...seems more like a software problem of some sort, no? I am downloading the stock 4.0.3 firmware and will flash via Odin, I'll see if that helps!

[Q] [Solved] Discharged phone, prevent from booting?

Hello, I accedentially discharged my phone really bad to the point where the red notification light flashes when I plug the phone in.
I know that I have to charge up the phone before doing anything, but HTC's settings are being a pain.
As soon as the minimum charge for booting is met, the phone just reboots straight away.
This leads to the phone trying to boot with about 0.0001% battery, and it dies in the process, and the charge goes up a little... and it loops again.
Is there any way to just simply stop the phone from booting?
EDIT:
Tried the following things:
Plugging it in for 2 seconds, then unplugging, repeat 100 times - Failed
Fastbooting every time the phone tries to boot, and selecting power down - Tried about 100 times and I see no future
Plug it in and try to hard reboot by holding power button until capacitive buttons flash 6 times, or

Trying now...
It didn't work, it doesn't get past "Quietly Brilliant".
I read guides, they all say to eject the battery...
I guess I will turn it off via fastboot, let it sit for some time, and charge it after some minutes. I will see what I can do...
So your device is unlocked, have recovery?

Yep. The phone is unlocked and has TWRP recovery.
The phone is in a complex situation. I have no clue when it died. It might have been when I was away when I was waiting for a ROM to install.
Someone please help me... I don't want a Tegra 3 paperweight X+ this early...
I read about people simply charging their phone while it is off in the One X forums, but what do I do if the phone keeps waking itself and commiting suicide?
P.S. Booting in to recovery doesn't work... It goes as far as the TeamWin splash screen before discharging.
Have you tried using a different charger? Maybe one from a tablet, with more throughput...

I would try this, but I don't have any other charger.
Should I buy one somewhere?
Edit:
Could you give me a link to a powerful charger?
From what I understand, your recovery controls your ability to charge your phone WHEN THE PHONE IS OFF, which is the case when you drain your battery to 0%.
It is also my understanding that TWRP for the OneX+ DOES NOT have the ability to charge your device in recovery...and since it controls the ability to charge the device when the device is turned off, your device cannot be charged when turned off with TWRP on the OneX+.
My last understanding is that in order to charge the OneX+ when the device is off the stock recovery must be installed.
All of this is just my understanding from every thing I have read. You may be better off looking for help in Lloir's Recovery thread for the OneX+.
Let us know if you get resolution!
Edit: A "stronger" charger isn't the answer.

So... do I use the RUU?
I have the EVITARE_UL_CINGULAIR RUU downloaded, I just gotta relock the thing and flash the stock recovery.
Where do I get the stock recovery? If I can get my hands on it, I can flash it after what seems to be a decade of fastbooting and powering off.

I believe if you can flash the RUU...that loads the stock recovery over TWRP. The prolblem is...I don't think you can flash an RUU without your device charged to at least 30%...I may be wrong....

I tried charging in Bootloader, it doesn't work.
I asked Lloid for help but the offline charging he suggested didn't work.

I'm tired of hearing the phone boot-suicide every other second. Should I just send it in to HTC? How much would they charge for the battery fix?

Weird, the phone boots, the display turns off, but the phone then boots again, infinitely.
I don't know what I did that makes it do so.
I just have to find the AT&T stock recovery.img. I will post a new thread for that, marking this thread as "[Solved]".
Edit:
Once I find the stock recovery.img, I'm totally making a step-by-step unbricking guide.

My One X+ is apparently stuck in a boot loop

I've been trying to find help for this problem and i just can't seem to find anything that actually works. I made an account for this website just so i could maybe get some help.
Well here's the story:
I tried to get CyanogenMod for my HTC One X+ device. I rooted my phone successfully but had a problem with installing CM. The installation got aborted everytime i tried to do so. The instructions said that i should flash boot.img so that's what i did. Well... then this problem happened The phone is stuck in the HTC logo when i try to power it up. I can access bootloader and clockworkmod recovery. I've tried almost EVERYTHING and it's still not working.
To be honest, i don't care about getting CyanogenMod to work anymore. I just want my phone working. Any suggestions what to do?
Just download a diffrent custom rom and install that then. Make sure to flash the boot.img for whatever rom you install...
As for your issue with cyanogen, are you installing the right version for your model of device? The HOX+ comes in two flavours. International, and the AT&T version (North America). The roms are not compatible, so AT&T roms wont work with internation devices and vice versa.

Wait, won't the AT&T Roms work on international but the "radio" wont be compatible? (A.K.A no signal/wifi..etc) ?
As for the main topic, I experienced this issue the first couple of times I flashed a custom rom but After that I just knew the process.
First you must make sure you factory wipe (Everything except "internal SD card" )
Then you flash the rom (Install zip file) using CWM
Then you wipe cache
Then you flash the boot.img using the PC's fastboot function.
However what do you mean by "the installation got aborted" ? Does it say "Failed" in red ? Or does it say "successful" or what?
If it says "Failed" in red , I have this issue with "zip md5 verification" when installing sense based rom on TWRP , so when I uncheck that box (I know that it should be enabled just to be sure the rom is correct..etc) and once its unchecked the rom installs fine. Maybe you have a similar issue?
Try redownloading the ROM again.
If it still fails as AndroHero said, try a different rom (maybe AOSP, AOSP + , AOKP ..etc.)
Best of luck mate Hope it works fine

No that was the case with previous devices that had the same hardware using different radio frequencies. But as the AT&T version uses a dedicated Qualcomm radio chip, the two devices need diffrent kernels...
It's like when we used to have GSM/CDMA devices, there not compatible...

Hi there i had the similar issue of bootloop on my At&t HTC One + , it has to do with boot.img that is the kernel. make sure u flash it after installing the rom. Try downloading other roms as well, Viper rom for international is also good. If you wipe everything from your phone , dont worry, goto recovery, TWRP and goto sideload option, and then through command prompt sideload your rom that you downloaded, install rom and then flash kernel boot.img. Enjoy.
I think i may have encountered another problem.
The bootloader says that the battery level is too low for flash even though i tried charging the battery last night. I'm not even sure if the battery is charging at all when i try to do so.
(Also, whenever the phone is turned off and is connected to a USB (either computer or for charging) it turns on automatically. When it's connected to a computer, it's impossible to turn off and when it's "charging" it turns on by itself every few hours.)
I need a higher battery level to flash stuff. What should i do?

First of all turn the phone completely off, meaning without booting to bootloader.
Put the phone into the charger over night, make sure its charging (you will find the red indicator lights up at the top of the phone)
If it boots up, hold down the power button until the screen turns totally black and make sure it doesn't "reboot" when you do that.
If you can't turn your phone totally off then you don't have any solution but to let it charge with the display is on. I know its bad for your phone but if you fail to turn it off, just let the screen on for a 4 hours (while you are awake) , should have the battery charged over 70% with the display on (Since the phone charges to 100% with screen off in 90 minutes).
But i think if you time it right you can just close it even while it charges.

Hi Ghand0ur,
I have an HOX+. I tried to install Cyanogenmod on it through CWM recovery. I ended up with the same problem as you (word to word). I first tried to install Cyanogen trough CWM but it gave me the same 'Error 7' message as posted by you, so then i installed boot.img file from PC using fastboot option. Since then my device it stuck in bootloop.
fastboot and CWM recovery still work (same as you) but the phone doesnt boot up.
Can u tell me how you finally managed to flash Cyanogen on your device?
Also, you mentioned that the problem was in CWM recovery. Which recovery did u use to flash Cyanogen (CWM or TWRP).
Did u install the boot.img first or the ROM.zip file first?

[KENZO] After installing LineageOS, battery charging very slowly

Hi again,
I can't believe no one had the same issue before as I couldn't find any help via search
I used this guide to unbrick my phone and install LineageOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154
I flashed:
1) miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_7.7.6_Firmware.zip
2) lineage-14.1-20170719-nightly-kenzo-signed.zip
3) Usual GAPPS micro
Kernel: 3.10.105-lineageos
Problem:
On the lockscreen my phone shows the message "Charging (24 hours until full) - wtf?
It charged 13% in 4 hours which is very unusual.
How can I fix this?
Thanks for any help!
Edit: I could flash Radon 5.1 kernel, but I don't have root access to change the settings.
Edit2: I applied for official unlock again haha
Edit3: Permission has already been granted after 10 minutes o,O
Edit4: Bootloader unlocked - again.
Edit5: Rooted, and installed Radon 5.1 Kernel. Let's see what happens
Edit6: Charging was still ****, so I changed the cable. Much better charging rate now. (but isn't mine)
Edit7: Bought a new charger - still 10h until full charge. GEEZus christ.

The phone only charges in fast boot mode

Hi everyone.
I have a Redmi note 4 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Qualcomm.
One day the phone ran out of battery (0%) and from there there is no way to charge the battery. After testing several chargers and cables, the only way to charge the battery is to connect the phone in fast boot mode to the PC.
If I connect the mobile on:
- to any charger, it does not charge or turn on any led.
- to the PC, it does not recognize it, it does not charge the battery or any led lights up.
If I connect the mobile off:
- to any charger or to the PC, first the Mi logo appears and then it shows the image of a battery with the%, but it does not charge the battery. Right now a yellow LED lights up because the battery is at 79%, it is supposed to charge but after 2 hours it remains the same.
If I connect the mobile in fast boot mode:
- to any charger, it leaves the fast boot mode at 20 seconds and turns on or shows the battery as in the previous case, so it does not charge.
- to the PC, it stays in this mode and charging the battery.
I did all these tests leaving the phone connected several hours for each one.
I restored the factory phone and nothing. I downloaded and installed the stable ROM 9.2.1.0 (NCFMIEK) but it remains the same.
I have also tried the developer version but it still does not work.
Any suggestions?

Ohh. It's probably because you flashed it afterwards lol. It's meant to be flashed before the Rom

If that works then i guess no. It isn't required. It's up to you. Just keep in mind to keep your firmware updated whenever you clean flash a rom.
