When I shutdown my phone or reboot it the boot tune, the one that happens when you first turn on the phone happens, then the Verizon 4g lte tune happens, finally right after that the boot tune happens again but this time MUCH louder and it loops while the phone is on infinitely, unless I pull down my notification bar, otherwise it'll play over all other sounds, and even while the screen is off.
Anyone have a fix, I'm unrooted, I have done nothing exotic to the phone, everything is stock and typical, help, thanks.

Have the same problem, has any resolution been found ?
Edit : I have tried "Silent Boot" and "No Statup Sound" apps and they work once but the sound comes back.
^ another option all tho im sure this is not the op's problem:
-must have root
-install a root explorer app
-navigate to the system/media/audio/ui folder
-scroll down and add .bak to the end of files poweron.ogg & poweroff.ogg.

I have tried multiple file explorers and none of them work. Is there a free root explorer that will perform this task ?

First of all, I am new to everything about smartphones. So if this is in the wrong forum, please move for me and I apologize. I just successfully rooted my LG Optimus x2 and I have deleted all the factory apps I wanted. I really haven't noticed a faster phone. Why? Should I?
But, I can't find any of the .odex files I am suppose to delete. Where are they? I have deleted all the .apk files I wanted to delete and the corresponding files in the data/data folder but I can't find any .odex.
Also, does anyone know how I can delete the camcorder shutter sound? Thats the original reason why I wanted to root my phone. And to make it faster with a better battery life. I want the thing barebones.
Thank you
How are you removing them? Titanium backup is the easiest ws. Get the pro version and you can simply freeze them so they are out of the way and if you accidentally freeze something that makes your phone wonky. You just thaw it and it's all good again. If you delete the wrong file you can fubar you're phone. Be careful.

One way to silence you're shutter sound would be to make a recording of silence locate the sound file associated with your shutter. Make sure you're silent recording is of the same file extension, I'm guessing it would be ogg you can't just change the extension you will need to convert it if its not the same. Rename it to you shutter sound file and replace it with your silent sound file. You will need a file explorer. In the market.

I am using Titanium backup. But if you freeze apps, they are still on your phones memory, so that is why I delete them. I am done deleting now. I deleted the junk and things I don't use. So far everything is working great. Thank you for your concern. I understand what I am deleting, so I think!, and I am done now.
But with this freeze, maybe I can freeze the file with the camcorder shutter sound. Does any one know where it is?

No idea where it's located, you could use a file explorer to search for specific file types like

I recommend this more than the custom apk. This method is built-in and in case for some reason you want the sound back, the option is just a checkmark away.

Yes, but doing the build.prop mod allows the toggle to be done from within the camera app which makes it much easier to toggle, as opposed to having to switch to another app.
No need to install anything. The easiest solution is usually always the best.

I just use Root Explorer and go to System/Media/UI then rename the Camera_Click.ogg to Camera_Clik.ogg just changing a single letter works and you can always restore it if wanted.

When removing some apps, they leave behind files in your phone so it doesnt completely gets removed. I think the go locker left some files in your phone to cause this. Try going into your my files folder, and delete any go launcher and go locker folders. It might just work.

I am not dev so they may be able to explain more then I.
Keystr is a android base file that in simple terms tells the phone to display the lockscreen or not and how to display it, (password, pattern) for the most part. It’s a simple file that can become corrupt or missing.
I first ran into the problem with a bad radio flash, but I have heard of it becoming corrupt just uninstalling a app. That leads me to believe it’s a issue with OS and not the app that it making the file become corrupt (missing)
Since you are not rooted there is no way for you to diagnose this correctly. About the most you could do is enter into the stock recovery on your un-rooted phone and do a factory reset. BUT in all honest I don't believe this will touch your EFS/IMEI directory. If this is indeed the problem your left with warranting your phone or rooting it to fix this problem yourself. If you’re going to root it to diagnose this problem and fix it, be glad to help you with that..
In short there is not a lot more we can do to help fix this problem without being rooted..
The launcher is not that invasive and can not touch your root folders (because your not rooted) how ever the underline android OS can, and OS files can become corrupt.

As far as Heimdall goes the following link is about all i could find for directions..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17828262&postcount=3
I am not even sure if it can do a full root or not. or if it will actually work on the I171.. Sounds like it may, but that is a risk you would need to decide if you want to take.
I just need to say this.. I personally would not attempt to root my $600 phone with unknown like Heimdall. Maybe someone else here has used it to root there phone and can help on this..
Heimdall sounds like it can flash the kernel alone so doing a (what i call) soft root may work.. (kernel root)
This should explain the two ways to root your phone. Refer to "b. Flash counter intact"

Okay, so I'm a massive music player fan. Honestly. I jam to dubstep and metalcore (blessthefall, AILD, August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, etc.) and I LOVE the quality of my music. BUT, recently, the last couple weeks or so, my music will randomly "skip" for a split second. What I mean is, it'll pause for a quarter second and then resume, even though it's not supposed to. Here's an example.
"You'll never stop until you get what you want,
You think you have control, you tried to take mine,
But I won't leave (0.25 second pause, then resume) until I get what I want,
Over and (0.25 second pause, then resume) over, bending and breaking!"
I don't know why it does this, because it hasn't before. I HAVE tweaked with the build.prop, but not with anything that should affect quality of music. Also, the screen is off, WiFi/Data/Sync, etc. so it isn't like, "user lag" interfering with it. I usually know the ins and outs of Android, but I'm stumped here. Any ideas mates?
ALSO, this isn't a massive problem, but it gets annoying. My songs are about 5 minutes in length or so.. And it happens probably about once every 2 or 3 songs. But still, it's annoying me mostly because I *don't* know what it is.
And one time it ruined my favorite bass drop. That's what set me off and made me make this post.

Did you install any mods that could have changed your CPU settings? I'm thinking that your phones processor is going too slow when its screen is off and that's causing the stutters. Try reverting your build.prop to the stock one. Either that or there's something wrong with your SD card. Have you tried another card? What about background apps? Could be that you have too many running and that's causing the slow downs.

It's not the card because it does it on internal too. And hey, the screen off idea is smart! I might check into another performance mod if it works. I'll test it to see if it does it when it's on.

I'm assuming that you've tested it with other mp3s, right? So it can't be that the mp3s you're playing are corrupted?
Your best bet is to revert to stock build.prop (I think you can just pull one from a stock ROM and copy and paste it to the correct system folder using ES file explorer.) If that doesn't work, do a factory reset and re flash the stock KDZ (I'm assuming you're on LGs stock ROM)

I am not sure about other music players, but I am sure most of them has something similar setting too.
