HEY there guys... I need help regarding a problem i am facing.. And it is about the rom that i just flashed on my gt-i9100
Now the prob is i was using stock ics rom with siyah kernel. And i dont know why, but i decided to flash stock jb rom which
has just leaked for s2.now as i flashed my phone is kind of factory locked, i tried to change the csc which was described in
the rom description but nothing worked .. I tried to find the unlock key via chainfire's app but it also didnt worked... Now for the time being
i have reverted back to stock ics but the prob is when i start my phone it asks for an unlock key and i dont have it so my phone
is working as a f*****g ipod right now.... i.e no working sim..
Plz tell me what to do now & if there is a way to install jb stock rom without factory locking the phone
Thanx alot.....

Look dude, the simple matter of the fact is that you're not special. Other people have had 100% exactly same "problem" as you and have solved easily by reading the topics that have already been created about this matter.
We have various topics on unlocking sim after flashing JB so go read and learn.
creating duplicate topics and labeling it as "URGENT!!!!" doesn't help you it just irritates people into not wanting to reply or help you.

If i understand right what are u asking for is an UNLOCK code for the phone because it is not booting up at all and u can't even get to sim unlocking screen where u have to input ur PIN ? Is that correct?
If yes, i've had same problem on my old GalaxyS, im not sure if it will work on S2 but here is what i did.
1. I've typed in random letters, numbers few times
2 Phone said if i'll put in another wrong code it will format my SD card.
3 I did that anyway.
4. Phone was unlocked and SD cart NOT formatted.
If u can go to recovery mode u can try to mount usb storage and make a backup of ur SD card.
I hope it helps.

No... Its not the case. I come across that screen but i dont have any key to put in so i just dismiss the msj... And the phone's working but the sim is not registered... I was thinking if it is to do anything with the country i am living in.??? Any ideas?
I suppose ur not asked about PIN code, so there is no sim card inserted or phone is not recognizing its presence. Maybe its silly but pull it out and push back in. If there is no contact problem and u have tried various roms and kernels then i would start suspecting hardware issue.
Post a screen shot.
And it better not be a SIM PIN code.

Guys...
i always read on xda about stuff on how to root s2 and all...
an everything was going well for me...
the last rom i flashed was Villainrom 2.4.2 and Ninphetamine kernel 2.0.5
Everything was going well for a week or so..
but all of a sudden a call got dropped today...
and after that i lost all service to my network...
it was appearing like the sim card was not inserted (there is a icon like no-parking on the status bar)
at first i just switched to flight mode and back on...no change
and then i rebooted the phone...still the same
i even reflashed the rom and also the stock rom just to see what the problem might be...
but still it was the same...everything other than the sim was functional...
then after searching and reading through xda...i decided to check my imei and baseband...
they both are UNKNOWN
the guys on the forum were talking abt 'efs' folder and stuff...
unfortunately stupid me did not back-up that folder
I purchased this phone 4rm UK guys...n i live in Sri Lanka (which is quite a long way)...
got the phone with a great difficulty...

Not sure if this will help. It seems that if you use a back up from another phone and flash it over to yours (might need to be on the same network *shrugs*) it works *maybe* there is a dedicated thread. The OP fixed his problem and stated the solution as well.
Hope it helps.

Just copying efs folder as backup can't solve that. I suggest to flash back to stock rom and bring it to service center and lie about what happened. Just say you were on a call and all of a suden that happened. Don't mention you flashed and rooted etc.

Allegedly??? LOLwut?
Read this:
In recent years it has become common for speakers to include allegedly in statements that are controversial or possibly even defamatory. The implication is that, by saying allegedly , the speaker is distancing himself or herself from the controversy and even protecting himself or herself from possible prosecution. However, the effect created may be deliberate. The use of allegedly can be a signal that, although the statement may seem outrageous, it is in fact true. Conversely, it is also possible to use allegedly as an expression of ironic scepticism.

Hi jithendra194,
if you already flashed the clockworkmode this could be the problem!
I know a friend who had to flash stockrecovery again, before rooting his device.
Rooting wasn't possible by using the clockworkmode, but with stock recovery rooting was successfully
So you can try flashing the stock recovery first (from here) and after it you should flash the upd_1.zip (from here)
Good luck
OK I have spent ages looking though all the threads on here and I am getting confused with all the numbers and codes
I have a Galaxy II GT-i9100
The the details are
Android Version 2.3.5
Base Version I9100NEK12
Kernal 2.6.35.7-I9100XWK18-CL616395 [email protected] #2
Build Number GINGERBREAD XWK18
I have tried to follow a few links of here to unlock it but the links they show to the 'ODIN' are dead.
All I want to do is Unlock it from the present provider (UK)3 to be able to use another SIM.
Later on I might want to change the ROM
I have Changemod 7 on my old Desire.
Could any kind soul please point me in the right directions for the files software I need.
I know this keeps getting asked over and over again but I do really find the jargon hard to follow.
Thanks again you are a great bunch.

Think you really need to read the roll up sticky thread.
In the mean time.. Do this..
Turn of phone. Take out battery for a minute. Put battery back in..then..
Press volume up, main button at bottom of screen," menu button " and power button at same time and wait for phone to turn on.. You should then be in recovery.. Go down to data/factory reset and select it. Then reboot.

Hi!
All you need to do is flash a standard firmware with odin.
Here is the thread for Official firmwares, with instructions.
You want:
XWLPD
Firmware info
PDA:XWLPD
PHONE: XXLPW
Date: 08/05/2012
Android 4.0.3
This is ICS and is located 2nd from bottom of third post.
Does it matter it says its for the GT ?
Thanks
any clue on SIMunlocking not working ? DO I need a SIM card in the phone ?
and do I need the Kernal and do I update it after the firmware the same way with Orion ?
Thanks

According to your OP, you have the GT-I9100. If correct then that is the firmware required for an upgrade to ICS. You will not have any sim lock after this and just leave sim in if you like.

That is absolutely ridiculous.
Look children, this is what happens when you cant be bothered to search, you go and pay some idiot to do what you should have done in first place, ie search, read, learn and do.
If you had search you would have found many topics that recommend various unlocking apps from play store or on xda and unlocked you device in seconds.

Hello
I've only just flashed my Samsung galaxy ace GT-S5830i with jellyblast 3.0.3. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976674 ) Everything went fairly smoothly and now I have an almost fully working jelly bean 4.1.1 install.
Unfortunately, I can't connect to my Network Operator which is Tesco Mobile in the UK.
If I go to " Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile networks > Network Oporators" jelly been searches for available networks and comes back with a few options, one being O2, which I think tesco uses. But when I select O2, the phone says that my sim card does not allow connection to the network.
So... my question is, how can I connect to Tesco mobile network if the option is not available in the options provided?

What does loosing the imei mean?
Ok, so the imei number was stored in the EFS folder right? and if I haven't backed that up, then i guess i'm screwed?
If that is the case then I guess the only option is to take the phone back completely bricked?
Is there any other way I can correct this problem?

Lol. Thats a nice way to get rid of this phone...and buy a new one if you are out of your warranty period. You will get your imei number back....just flash any stock rom through odin again. Once you get back on stock...backup your imei number using galaxy toolbox app so that you dont think about crucifing your phone again. ( I wont be surprised even if you want to....because i usually feel like doing that.

I've actually just bought this phone with a new and very cheap contract (what a dooch). Flashing hadn't even crossed my mind 2 days ago when I got it. If only I'd known what I now know, I definitely wouldn't have got this particular phone, seems as though its a real pain for everyone.
Thanks for your tips by the way.
I've downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile.com for this phone, will the combination of restoring the imei, backing it up like you say and flashing with sammobile's rom be enough to restore the original setup?
If so, I might use the 14 day grace period to change my mind about this phone and get a slightly more flashable one.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
I sorted the phone by putting the stock firmware back on, deleting offending files and unrooting it. I then went back to the shop and swapped it for a Galaxy S II GT-I9100 (wohooo what a phone!)
I will be rooting it at some point but I have to be sure I can do it without problems.
Thanks again
