[Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

My friend is asking me to root his phone, and install a custom rom, so I was wondering what do you guys recommend to install on his phone? Which rom is the most stable and best for every day use? I just need stability over speed.

For now it's gingersony v06, you just need to flash a led fix ( only bug ) but the rest is fast and stable, it just has the problem that every rom has: getting stuck in the keyboard when scrolling maximum up/down on the sym/smiles, you just need to be gentle in that part.
The most syable roms will be Zencefil and Semc Debrand when the new version is released, zencefil may have more battery time of all and semc will be the most stable with that scrolling problem fixed.
If i helped press thanks .

AW: [Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?
I agree to Crazy Seed, Gingersony is the best for the moment, but if you don't want to go through the pain of unlocking the bootloader and flashing a new kernel, I would recommend SonyStyle by BPaul, or, infact, GingerDX pro.
PS: Here is a list of most ROMs for X10 mini pro, you can go through the lists there, too, if you want:

Please press thanks if I helped .

I'm really sorry for the dumb question but could you post the link to gingersony v06 and is it even a rom for the x10 mini pro?

Well, that is a good question: I'm a 'wannabe' dev myself, so I made a rom based on slimroms, which is based on minicm10. I solved the problem of too little space on the data partition, but the performance is still not comparable to cm7 and the sound isn't very good. Everything is working, just a bit slower than on cm7. Do you maybe want to test the rom?

Wow, the first time I hear that project butter is slower then the 2.3.7 version Not really since it's not my phone. I own a Huawei G300 with CM10.1 on it and I can't believe that CM7 works better then CM10 on any device...

You know, the problem is the hardware of our phone: There´s to little internal space and to little RAM, so we can´t really use the, compared with cm7, heavyweight cm10 to its full extent, ask Crazy Seed if you don´t believe me, he tested the ROM for me .

I believe you, but damn, such a waste, you're missing out on a whole new experience. Anyway thanks for all the answers, I guess I'll install the CM7!

Yes it's true, cm7 is the best rom for the mini pro and cm10 is simply too much heavy for out phone, i honestly don't think there will ever be a 100% stable fast cm10 for this phone because the hardware can't take it. Kilroy's cm10 rom it's true that has more space, and it's still in constant testing for perfecting the rom, there's still a long way to go but in time there will be solutions. I don't know why so many people want JB roms instead of GB roms, i tested both and the only difference i saw was that the cm7 performance was way too much better, but it goes with the tastes and choices of people.
Ps: sorry kilroy but i have to disagree about the other roms you mentioned, sonystyle has many bugs and lags and gingerdx has a radio bug and effect rendering not automatic at boot, but xperia blaze 3 rom is good for stock kernel and has walkman player ( i just don't like the srs trumedia that they put in the rom, best to remove it ), or else you just have to go trough the pain of unlocking bootloader and stuff to get Gingersony v06 the best rom for now.
Ps: Kilroy about jb players, now that i mentioned walkman player, why don't you try that one? xD.

Minicm7. its fast, very stable and excellent for everyday use. battery life is good. i have not had any major problems with it. Its awesome!

as been said before in this post, and also my opinion, GingerSony is now the best rom around for x10mini pro

I was been on Dixperia 7 avenger for a while until I went to FXP115 CM7.2.0.
Dixperia 7 is a smooth, fast, stable and good looking version of the stock factory rom.
I wouldnt give CM7 to my Mum coz it has heaps of very customisable settings under the the hood and if She started poking around in there things could get ugly pretty quickly
Choices for my Mum would be...
Dixperia 7 avenger
T.E.A.M Transparent
DonutHD2.2

Imo most stable is currently DiXperia 7 (which i'm using right now), it's clean very fast, include alot of xperia S apps, simple theme etc.. And DonutHD is also very nice, it's bugfree, fast, & ICS themed.
Quick question about Dixperia 7... Am correct in assuming you have to download and install a LOT op different stuff? I saw that there is the rom, and then after that you have to install some kind of facebook, a browser, an app for this, an app for that... Isn't that a lot of extra work? Or is there a cersion where all of that stuff is already included in the Rom? In my case, the extra installing would prevent me from using the Rom as it seems like a lot more wok then other Roms that are already complete? Or am I mistaking?
My ROM has additional downloads in single addons/files, cause not all people using the same stuff, so after install my ROM, you just apply those files you need - it makes you more being yourself, cause you don't need delete tons of non-using apps. Of course decision depends of you - I can't tell you which ROM is the best, cause I'm not flashoholic, and I am Dev - every Dev prompting for his system, am I right ? Cheers.

[Q] Jumping from MiniCM9 to MiniCM10

I have MiniCM9 already installed in my Xperia X10 mini pro,
But due to "slow performance" I decided to move to MiniCM10 or may be MiniCM7.
So, what is the procedure to do this ?
Do I need back to stock ROM first, or is not necessary?
Regards.
Thanks in advance !

Get the kernel and rom for what you want to do and just follow the instructions in their respective posts. I would recommend MiniCM7 if you want stability and performance, Minicm10 still has a lot of bugs to work out.
Minicm10 isn't better than minicm9 in terms of performance, stick with minicm7 or minicm6
Sent from my GT-I9100 running CM10
dont move to that CM10 still in beta he not so good
Look at this and this
My MiniCM9 is working fine after doing some of those tips
I moved to MiniCM10 about a month ago and with some modifications (other launcher,
overclocking and so on) I have a nice performance.
Clearly it never be as good as on new phones
due to hardware limitations, but I'm happy with it
You should definitely try MiniCm7 and MiniCM10
They both have their pro's and con's, but the bugs in JellyBean
are not really bothering

try the semc debrand 3 beta 4 the best since now.
MiniCM10 is faster and better now.. I love it so much.. Far way better than MiniCM9
Having used last MiniCM10 for about a week, I have to admit that it is really good. Way better than MiniCM9.
But, it is also true that this little x10 beast works far better with MiniCM7 than any other rom.
Unless there is a special reason, stick on MiniCM7. Best day-to-day experience...

[Q][SOLVED] Need help finding the best rom for me

Hi all,
i am new to this great forum and owner of a neo v.
i used stock gb for a while, unlocked bl, rooted it and ****ed the system heavily up because i am a bloody noob
Then i tried CM9 and 10, Spacious ISC, Ice Cream Purness and Polish Blood JB.
Except for Polish Blood, i was not very happy with the performance of the Roms, but maybe that was just because i never updated to official ICS FW and still was on BB 64 (iirc, was for sure some 60ties BB).
Polish Blood is great (and exactly what i am looking for, clean, no imo useless fancy stuff) but as it is not maintained anymore and the last version is still too buggy for my daily use it is also not suitable for me.
Then i decided to go back to Sony ICS, so i relocked BL, flashed .431 FW via Flashtool (my SI is not on the list for .487) and did a seus repair.
So now i am on official ICS from Sony and the Performance is really bad (well CM9 or 10 was not really better tho).
As there is a whole Jungle of Roms out there, i wanted to ask you guys if you can recommend me a Rom/Kernel combination.
What i need/want:
- it should be fast, that is the most important thing, i really dont care about theme engine xy, window animations from jb or designs and wallpapers i won't use anyway. Tbh i preffer it if it's stupid simple and naked (i use OpenBox as WM on my pc...)
- Hdmi and 720p recording must be working
- as mentioned above, i like it simple and clean
Oh and i have two more question...as my neo v doesn't officially supports FW .487 would it be a problem to use a rom based on that fw and must i flash this FW prior to a custom rom based on .487? (in some install instructions i read that you have to do so, in some not...)
Thank you all in advance!

Hi, i'm newbie too, but I tried many ROMs, and I can say, that stock .62 FW with some modifications is really faster than all of custom ROMs, except CyanogenMod 7, but it doesn't have some features from stock (like keyboard, HDMI and music player), so 2.3.4 .62 is the best for performance and daily use) now i'm on .587 stock fw, it is fast too, but it have more bugs in games, than gingerbread. Just for the record, there is an official update for my neo v to .587, although it is not written in the sony si number forum post and i did not get a notification on my phone...i just connected my phone to pcc because i wanted to check, if there is the possibility to backup /data and it told me there is an update available (adb backup don't work on my linux or windows pc...but that's another topic if it still doesn't work with .587, i just want to backup game data and stuff before i re-unlock bootloader).
So maybe there are other users here that could get an update and don't know about it...

that's good to know, i will try out a few more isc roms and if im still not happy, i think i will have a look at CM7. The keyboard is definitely much better than the one brought with CM, but i think it shouldn't be too hard to copy the APK over (if not, there are some good swipe-keyboards in the store), same for the music player, but i liked the one shipped with CM 9 and 10 anyway.
For HDMI, i read somewhere, that it is now working for the neo in CM7 but i have to check that again.

i used Pureness for quite a while (version 11) and want to give it another try, as i was not on .587 and BB 77 as ThilinaC writes in the install instructions.
The performance was good after reboot, but it slowed down quite fast. I know he writes that i should restart my phone once a day, but i don't like this as a permanent solution. With Polish Blood i used the phone for a week, and it was almost as fast as it was after the boot. But well the one is ICS and the other JB, i know (although CM10 was not really fast compared to Polish Blood)...
If JellySandwich and Ultimate HD become laggy after some time of usage too, i will go back to GB or just restart my phone every day

I tried it for a couple of days, and i must say the multitasking build is really fast, even after a few days without reboot. The only problem is, that i can't play games like temple run because it lags as hell (even with the games build), only after fresh reboot it runs smooth for a while. But as playing games is not so important, i might stick to that rom, just want to try out a few others before.
ah ok because I do not really react with the mobile games so no idea how to play it.

Ok found JJ's Hybrid ROM and it is just awesome! Pure AOSP feeling without the bugs that non sony-based roms have (ie bad touchscreen) but also not the problems that many sony-based roms have (slow phone, contacts, etc apps). It is not as fast as some other roms and the app drawer lags sometimes, but it is still fast enough (after a few hours of usage, just after the first boot it feels laggy for an hour or two) and the pure aosp ui is unbeatable smooth imo.
So, great rom, i can just recommend it!

All mentioned roms are very good, all of them have som glitches or bugs. Just try them and choose wich is the best for you. For me is the best Zmod rom, its a bit old (android 2.3.5) but very fast and stable. Other ROMS are good too, but it depends on you which one do you like the most.
The AchotJan Semc is the best( cool features on a stock based Rom )but always after a month or two it becomes laggy and the Free RAM becomes low I'm now trying the light version of the same Rom by Tof37 give you more RAM by default and always more RAM means more speed

Latest nightly of MiniCM10 with the 2.6.32 JB kernel is quite stable, and it's better than MiniCM7 when it's sleeping, it's just heavier on the battery if you use it. and it is a little bit slower. And bluetooth will only turn on if you turn on the wifi first. I use it as my daily ROM at the moment.
