My gf's GS3's screen is broken and now we're trying to retrieve the data from the phone. I'm not familiar with the nuances of the SG3 and would appreciate some help. It's stock and bootloader is still locked. Tried usb connection and Kies, but both didn't work. I'm a noob with the SG3 and any suggestions would be appreciated!
only way is fix ur screen .......by bought new screen ...... between that which model u have?????

It's the international version. GT I9300. It seems I stumbled into a solution. I was playing around with the adb solution someone mentioned in another thread and it lokks like I didn't have the right driver. It auto installed the driver and now I can access the files via windows explorer now

There's an adb backup program somewhere on xda that let's you backup app+data without root too.

if the mobile rooted/adb enable ,there is tool kit can backup ur data , if u give me a while i will give u link to tha thread but dont worry about data if u gonna replacment ur mobile screen ur data never touch .

Using you mobile as a modem can cost you some money. I make sure that this is ok for you. Do you use a custom Rom or a standard Rom? which one do you use?
And start searching for wifi Hotspot or tethering. Should be under wireless options.

my mobile is x10mini pro.n im on stock rom.i instald pdanet on pc n mobile too bt im havng an error saying pdanet driver problm.dnt remembber wat driver it is eithr pc applicatin driver or mobile usb driver pdanet driver.

Ok. Do you have root rights? If so there are apps for tethering search them in the market. If not you should try to flash a different Rom. It's tricky complicated for beginners but search a bit in this forum. After miniCM7 you should know if your bootloader can be unlocked. Etc. In this process you may loose all your data or configuration so. Make a backup maybe with my phone explorer. You need the desktop and the market app for it. Good luck

bt it was d basic feature dat shud be xisting by default in mob.y sony did lik dat.wats d situation of guys dose who dnt want to go against company by losing warranty by trying roms n rooting???

Maybe someone else knows how. My problem is I don't known the basic features any more. Because at the first day I rooted. After one week I unlocked the bootloader. I never went back again because the results are great. And seriously it was the best decision to flash gingerbread. Less security vulnerabilities it was faster. I could install more features block adds. And use a firewall. Only mms features was not working quite good.
But in the end it's your decision.

Download an application "easy tether pro" From the market it is good and best... it. Does not require any root or anything u can use it on stock rom

First I would try to use the copy text feature in another app and check if it worked there. If yes then the problem is in the app you use. If no, then I try to find a SW update for the phone with Samsung Kies (supposing you have already tried to restart it) and if still no success I would reset the phone.
Not working on any app, can't even use the inbuilt copy and paste of uc browser and already try restarting the phone, I have the last update for my phone

Hi...after dialling *#*#526#*#* into my dialler to reset my wifi driver(nothing seemed to happen and there was no message) i now only have a grey wifi signal and no connection...is there any way to fix this without a factory reset as i will lose some installed apps that were country specific (banking apps) as i have now moved country...i am unrooted so cant use titanium backup either.

Don't you imagine it WOULD be wise to root and backup all your data?
At least then you could reflash your firmware or another one and still keep your data.
How does it function after a reboot?
Maybe ive tried to root and failed..MAYBE u could answer un sarcastically lol. I rebooted many times.
I would love to root it but am a total spastic and dont have a pc to connect to..i live in Cambodia.

Have you tried Framaroot?
It's list of MTK devices is very impressive. I know I might sound like a broken record but I really think you need rooted before trying to fix this issue.

@Faiyaz5yaz What do you mean offline install? The sources are online so one way or other you're gonna have to get them off the web and onto your computer. The only other option is using a build server, if you have access to one. How unstable is your connection? when you sync the sources, you can stop it and start again from where you left off whenever you want, you don't have to do it in one go.
@HTCDreamOn i mistyped it.. I mean i hav limited Internet connection.. I can't download 30+ gb source file.. Is it possible to port from my friends pc to mine? Syncing is not a prob i can do it

Well as I said you could still sync it in stages, although if you're limited to 500MB a month or something then it'll take years. You can only use a friends source if its the same device... Otherwise you could always copy it over, then create a new directory and use the repo init -reference command to use the existing files, then you'd have to download far less.

Well you just sync all the sources into one directory, so if you're saying your friend doesn't mind downloading 10GB+ of stuff and you don't mind transferring 10GB of stuff over somehow, then yeah that should work fine.

Yeah 32GB is plenty, but you'll need over 30GB free on your computer to build it.

hello..i have a samsung galaxy and i woyuld like to know if somebody else besides me has been using it ( and i mean my wife) ..i turned it off 3 days ago and came back today and i want to check if the tablet has beeen used these 3 days that i was away...is ther a way to access the log files to see if she turned it on...ty so much in advance
