I purchased a 32 GB Scandisc SD card for my Samsung Galaxy Tab and I put a bunch of video files on it (ave and mp4, regular transfer from PC hard drive to SD card). However, when I watch a video on the SC card, it often stops after a while and when I try to start it again from My Files, it says "video can't be played". Also, in My Files some of the files on the SD card stop appearing and I need to take out the SD card and put it back in. This does the trick... until the next time it stops. I replaced the first SD card with a another one, thinking it was faulty, but the problem persists. I exchanged the Tab as well. I can't watch a full video without having to take out and put back in the card several times. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I got my Dell Streak second hand but the 16Gb card that came with it wasn't working. Not that the seller had mentioned it.
So, I've actually bought 2 16GB micro SD cards and both have had the same problem. The device recognises it upon first installation but when writing further data upon it, e.g. connecting it via USB or taking the micro SD card out and using an SD adapter, the files become corrupted. It doesn't matter what type of file it is, it all gets corruped and it says that the SD is damaged when the phone is trying to mount the SD card again.
This is the 3rd time it has happened so it's no coincidence.
My 4gb that I had in my previous XDA Orbit has been working fine ever since I got my Streak with no problems whatsoever.
Am I missing a driver for 16gb+ SD Cards?
EDIT- Just had a thought. I was transferring all my stuff from my previous card that was in my Streak to the new one, could this have caused any problems? I assumed you could transfer all SD data from one card to another and still have all the apps and data working?
EDIT x2- Had another thought! It seems like when things get put onto the root of the SD card, it causes corruption but when it gets put into a folder, it seems okay. Now this isn't a problem when the device writes things to the SD card- they get put into the appropriate folders, however I have never had this problem with the aforementioned 4gb card and always write pictures and movies onto the root of the SD card to view without any problems.
My S3 is a 32 GB but only about 26 GB is available for use. My music library is aroun 24 GB now and I was running out of space so I bought this 64gb memory card from eBay to store my music on. Now when I tried to sync it using the program I usually use to sync my music (easy phone sync) the music would sync but for most of the files when I tried to play them it would say the format is unsupported but when I looked at the files in the android explorer they're mp3s. I formatted the SD Card on my phone and tried again. Same thing happened. So I took the card out, put it in my laptop and tried to just copy the music files over. So on my computer when all the files were on the card, it had about 38GB left. But when I put the card in my phone it would say "preparing SD card" for a minute or two. Then when it was done the space available on the SD Card was 55GB and a lot of my music was gone. So I did some searching and saw that formatting to FAT32 might help. So I did just that and used the easy sync phone app again to try to sync my music but the same problem occured with my player saying the format of some files was unsupported. When I was syncing to the internal storage this was never an issue. Now it usually stops reading other files after the memory card reaches 55GB left. So why can't I put all my music on this SD card, and why does the phone delete the files I placed there using my laptop's explorer when I put in the micro SD card? Please help.
Fake faulty card is the usual .

I recently purchased a 64GB Samsung evo sdxc card to use with my Galaxy s4 zoom as an upgrade from my 32GB sd card i had been using. I put all my files onto my laptop and proceed to copy the entire folder to the sd card (24GB or so) everything went fine and I put the sd card into the phone and it seemed as if there was nothing on the card music pictures etc. I put the card back into my computer to find that the folders that i copied were still there but the contents of the folders were no longer there. trying this a few more times I copied the files again after formatting the SD card , but instead of putting it in the phone i just removed it from the laptop and put it back in . I received the same results each time i did this. i even tried to format it to Fat 32 to see if that would fix it and still just as before the same result. I have used many sd cards and have never had this problem before, this is the first time ive owned an sdxc card but it should be compatible with my s4 zoom, so the results i am getting have baffled me. any help with my situation would be very appreciated.
Hello everyone!
I've bought yesterday a new 16 gb micro sd card, class 10 and I mounted it intro my phone. I started to copy files from my phone to card and after a while I saw that my files are corrupted. Every file I have copied on my card (music, pictures, videos...) were slowly corrupted.
I tried to copy files from my computer to the new card after I formatted it, but the same thing happened.
Then, I installed an app to check if the card has what it tells it has and it tells me exactly what is write on it.
After I restarted my phone, I tried again and I saw that some files I copied were disappearing. I formatted my card again.
Then I tried to copy again my pictures, but this time I have waited 5 minutes between every folder I have copied. And it strangely worked. My pictures are safe in card, no corrupted videos or pictures.
But this is not the same for music files. This card still corrupts my music files and I can't play them after a while I copy my music files on card.
I tried to use this card to make new pictures and videos and I waited to see what is happening and those pictures and videos are intact.
What I can do to fix this?
Thank you for your time!
I have been using my micro sd card for a couple of years now without issue, on the same phone. Suddenly, I can't add new files, or delete old files. I'm not getting any read/write errors or anything... but changes just won't "stick."
Say if I load some music on there, and I can play the music, but as soon as I take my SD card out or reboot my phone, the music disappears.
Same with deleting the files. I can delete the files, and then as soon as I remove the sd card or reboot my phone, the files are right back again.
I have tried formatting it on my pc, with no success. I have tried formatting with TWRP (I'm rooted) with no success. The files still REMAIN.
I tried checkdisk on my PC (I have a micro SD card reader) and it didn't seem to help.
There doesn't appear to be a read/write switch on my micro sd either (and when I use the card reader, I make sure it's not locked).
I am at a loss. We are about to go on a long trip and I'd like to add more music! :'(
Its now write protected... U cant use it anymore... Batter you get new one.
