I have a odd question.. my phone is a Samsung galaxy S2 and recently it started have a weird error whenever I am writing text. If I'm typing and I type the word "side" si goes through the rest doesn't , sometimes my keyboard will stop working and for a few mins if my keyboard is working when you hit space it deletes the last word. Anyone got a clue as to what's happening? I tested other parts it's only that letter combination that causes it. Thank you

You need to include way more information than that.
Are you rooted? What romantic are you on? Are you using a third party keyboard? What have you done to try to solve it?
You can take a look at the thread in my sig for more questions you should answer to get the problem solved

Well wasn't sure how to describe it really and to answer your questions.
No. No idea what that is. No. And I haven't done really anything other then locking my phone and unlocking it usually fixes it until i type the word again.
I9100? ROM?

Hi all
I've encountered a problem on my S2 regarding contacts. When I do a search by entering any letter those persons who have these letter will show on my screen. The functionality in that regard is working fine however it will also show up those persons that I've marked as hidden.
For instance I unmarked for show any contacts from my sim card. However when I do a search it will show any persons with that letter including those from my sim card?
Anyone know this problem and how to fix it?
I believe this either happened when I updated the firmware to the latest. ics 4.0.3 and dunno if its a known problem?
Or it could be related to me rooting my s2.
However I did a stock firmware install but the problem still persists.
I've tried on mine and I get duplicates too. I think the hidden ones only stay hidden in your Contacts menu and not your search function. Either this is a default thing or it can be edited using a script. Either way, I don't have a problem with it, but I can see why it is annoying you. Sorry I can't help much, I'm a bit of a noobie myself.

Thank you for replying because I certainly needed a confirmation that it wasnt me that messed up my phone.
Alternative solution would be to simply delete all contacts in my sim card and it would ease my annoyance but still I would say this is not very optimal.
But you did help me by replrying .. thank you.
EDIT:
A friend of mine who also has a s2 but who is still on gingerbread do not have this problem. So I suspect either my phone to be the culprit which seems not to be the case, it would have to be an issue on ICS in general?

Hi guys just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone. I received a text message and my phone randomly spoke the fact I had a message. It said '(insert name) has sent you a text message' I'm pretty sure I didn't change anything and it only done it once

You probably have light flow installed. I would uninstall it as it is causing battery drain issues and other problems.
What is light flow and what does it do?
You may have driving mode enabled. Have a look in the hidden toggles in the notification area.

I suddenly cant work out how to paste stuff? I can type a word, hold down on it, select the cut or copy button. But I cant get the Paste option show up. I'm doing the exact same thing I've done for other Android versions. I'm on the SGS3 and I've had the the previous 2 galaxys, it's running 4.0.4 & XXLEF firmware.
What's wrong with me?

Probably gonna be a terrible response but I sold one the other day and the customer had a problem with copy and paste on the S3 cuz she had long nails... She could do it just fine on my Nexus, but had trouble on her S3. I however could do either perfectly fine. Maybe it's the angle you're doing it at or even try holding it down longer....
Again, probably not gonna help your situation... but figured id share

I just had a look on Renovate 3 4.0.4 ROM HTC OneX of a guy I work with and copy paste function works fine for him... do I need to be asking in the SGS3 forum?
Can I ask what firmware the S3 had? I'm using Swiftkey3 and have tried GO Keyboard and the same problem, copy and paste isn't dependent on which keyboard you use?
I've just tried doing this out of my imo messenger and it crashed it, it's also been crashing Chrome when I tried copying. So this seems to be a Samsung thing... Can I have this moved to the S3 forum Q&A please, thanks...

In my Galaxy S, first I need to SELECT words. Then, I can cut or copy.

Like I say, when I hold down on a word it selects the word for me :good: Still doesnt fix the paste problem
Install Clipper from Play Store to pin-point the problem. See that texts go to clipboard or not. Or, the problem is with pasting only.

Hello guys!
I didn't find answer using search so i must make new topic.
Last week crazy stuff start to happen on my s3. Twice a day, sometimes more or less every sms i have are gone, when i am typing new nothing showing in inbox. After restart phone everything back to norm.
I was thinking that problem is with go sms pro which i am using, but when bug happen in stock message app there is no sms too.
I'm running stick jelly bean without root.
Any idea what it can be? And how fix this?

I'm sure I remember setting my phone during my initial set-up to put a space following full-stops and commas.
Now, I've decided I don't want it to appear automatically!
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this?!
I want a space after words, just not punctuation.
Am I imagining this??!

I have never yet to encounter this problem. Really hope u r not imagining here. Anyway try reading this thread (http://support.swiftkey.net/forums/...n-to-disable-auto-space-after-punctuation-and)
I just hope u would get some ideas to solve ur problem coz seriously i myself dont have the solutions

My issue appears to have rectified itself!
I'm pretty sure there are some bugs within the keyboard input software as there are occasional oddities that I've come across.
It could just be that I don't really like the keyboard as I've just moved from a Sony Xperia Z which was hugely more intuitive, clean and simple.
