I have a problem with my 16GB Galaxy Tab 10.1 in that for some reason, while trying to pick up a WiFi signal from my Sky Broadband router (which none of my other WiFi devices has any problems picking up a signal from), the WiFi option seems to be stuck on the "Turning On" message and I don't know how to get it unstuck so that I can pick up a WiFi signal again from any device.
If anybody has any suggestions (I'm already looking at trading it in for a Asus Transformer Pad Infinity) to fix it, I'd be very grateful for them.
I had a similar problem. It occurred after using rom manager to install cwm on stock rooted rom and a factory reset fixed the problem for me, did you try it?

Sorry for the late reply.
I haven't tried it because I didn't know how to back up everything on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to do so.
My problem occured weeks after I installed CWM on my Galaxy Tab 10.1
Also, does anybody else know if there's an alternate way to fix this problem without needing a factory reset?
Try to flash a different kernel. Odin or cwm doesn't matter. And you won't lose data!

Thanks for the advice! What's the best kernel to use as I don't have a custom ROM on my Tab 10.1 because all I did was just root it, nothing more.
Here: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
But sorry to say it but I don't think you will avoid wipe data. I could be wrong but wiping fixes almost all problems...

I just hope I don't have to do a wipe as it would be a pain in the ass to have to do so (It's stuff like this plus the fact that I'm on my third Galaxy Tab 10.1 due to all the constant problems I've had with them that's making me switch to the Transformer Pad Infinity when it comes out!).
What's the best way of doing a kernel installation with this as I've never done one before? Also, how do I do a complete backup of the device?
I've installed the kernel via CWM after doing a wipe (and I did a backup in ROM Manager as well as via Titanium Backup AND backed up everything possible to my hard drive) and now my device is stuck on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 boot screen! (The one which says "Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1" on it)
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it?
UPDATE: I also can't switch it off using the Power button as well!
Did you flash the correct kernel? There are different kernels for ics and hc and they are different for every device as well. Get into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache.
Since you wiped the data, the best solution is still to go here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1#osa.
Download your stock firmware, flash it via odin, root again and restore everything with titanium!

It looks like I used the ICS kernel for the 3G version (which is the version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that I have) instead of the HC version by mistake!
In the meantime, should I wait until the battery drains completely and try to recharge it to see if your advice works?
With the backup that I made with Titanium, I take it that's still safe on the device if I can get back into it?
You can flash without draining the tab. Also, everything in your /sdcard (music, videos, cwm backups, etc) don't get wiped. What you loose is only the apps you have installed. Just if you use odin flash only the Rom and not a pit file, as it will COMPLETELY wipe the tab, including sdcard.

I'm just downloading the firmware right now and I was wondering which option in the Files section on Odin do I use to flash the firmware. (Sorry for being such a noob, but it's been quite a while since I've used it to flash a ROM and I can't remember what the option was to do so)
In the meantime, thank you for answering my questions (I'm still going to get me a Asus Transformer Pad Infinity in any case) and showing patience to someone who's had nothing but problems with the device since he got his first one a few months back.
UPDATE: I drained the battery and recharged it, but from the looks of things it's still stuck on the same screen and still won't let me switch it off! It's a shame that I've been having so much with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 even though I've forgiven it for its lack of microSD slot.
Hey no prob. That's the best way I can contribute here for the moment. I am glad that my advices are somewhat useful to you.
Here is a complete guide to restock the tab:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p7500/?page_id=5
You don't have to use the provided stock rom, since you are downloading your own! Just skip the pit part, unless you have backed up everything in your hard drive. I don't know the exact options, since I have never used odin for the tab, but it explains it all with screenshots.
I have a small favor to ask. Can you check whether the binary counter will increase after that? In theory it shouldn't be affected, because you flash a stock rom but I would be grateful if you could tell me what happens.
Yeah, the only thing which bothers me too is the lack of the microsd but ok, I decided I can live with that!

The device is still stuck on the screen with the Galaxy Tab logo on it and won't switch off at all! Does that mean it's unfixable or is it one of those boot loop problems that I've read about here?
I'm seriously looking at sending it off for repair or replacement if it can't be fixed.
This happened after odin? Just wait a little bit. It usually takes a while for the first boot.

I haven't used it with Odin yet. Should I wait for it to drain fully and recharge fully before trying again?
Also, it's good to know that my data is safe and all I need to do is to root it again and reinstall my apps using Titanium Backup.
It's best to be full before you flash. If the battery is drained before the process is finished then you have a brick!! Just please check your binary counter before and after you flash the stock firmware. I really need to know this... You can see this number in the downloading mode screen. Your tab will be fine...good luck!

I've fully charged it up to 100% so hopefully it should be safe to try and fix the problem.
Also, I've downloaded what seems to be the latest Vodafone UK stock ROM and I take it that's the one I should be definitely using to return the device to stock?
Yes, that is correct, although it does't matter which rom you choose as long as it is for p7500. I am waiting for an update with good news!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, been kept busy.
I've plugged it into the laptop after charging it up to 100% but it's not being recognised by the laptop at all even after reinstalling the USB drivers.
I've managed to get into the screen with the Android Downloading icon on the right and the folder logo on the left. What should I do next?
Hello
So I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus that was running stock 4.3 (maguro)
Having been really frustrated with the low volume on the device, I decided to try the method mentioned on this link - Download Fix for Google Galaxy Nexus I9250 Volume Issue - Android Advices (VolumeFix by MoDaCo)
After I applied the fix and rebooted, my phone got stuck at the Google screen. My phone was unlocked prior to applying this fix so I went ahead and installed the CWM recovery - despite that, I cannot go past the Google screen, I haven't been able to install the CWM-SuperSU on my phone yet because I cannot transfer it to my phone without having it connected as a USB storage device. I tried adb push CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip /sdcard/ but it says "device not found"
I have even downloaded the stock 4.2.1 ROM to flash my phone with it, but at this stage I cannot do anything. I have logged into recovery and have wiped cache/ partitions/ dalvik etc but still it doesn't work.
Kindly advise me on how to fix my phone. I bought it a couple of months ago and being in India, Galaxy Nexus has no support here
Many thanks in advance
I believe the galaxy nexus supports fastboot and the stock (if download from Google here
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers
Or I believe it also supports hiemdal and Odin which you can return to stock this way as well
Also if you have a recovery that supports adb sideload you can flash straight to a custom ROM, probably the best method as we all want something fun right
Happy flashing!

Thanks for your response. I just downloaded the official 4.3 from Google and flashed my phone with it
I have a massive issue...
Somehow I lost my TWRP recovery and when I tried to reflash it, I got the "software unauthorized by Verizon error" each time I started my phone.
I thought, no biggy, I'll just reflash back to VRALJB and all will be well with the world. Did it. No problem.
I then tried to unlock the bootloader. This is when all hell broke loose. I had to reflash VRALJB again and since then, I started getting stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen (the first one, immediately after the phone turns on). I could not enter recovery using the (Volume UP + PWR + HOME) key combo. I could only enter download mode and use odin.
I tried everything. The only thing that worked was downloading the stock 4.4.2 Verizon image released a few days ago from sammobile.com
(I605VRUFND7_I605VZWFND7_VZW).
Now, I do not have root and my bootloader is locked, but at least I have a working phone and KitKat.
Hopefully the above helps someone, but, my question is, where do I go from here?
How do I go about installing a custom recovery and getting root? I would like to keep stock 4.4.2 as well and before anyone asks why, I want custom recovery for the sole purpose of managing my TWRP backups. Stock OS though.
Since you updated to 4.4.2, there isn't much you can do. No root, no recovery, no safestrap...yet. The only thing you can do is wait for developers to find a way to root this version of android.
Hi my friend, I have met the same problem, so could you tell me how to get that I605VZWFND7_VZW rom~
Please~~
Hey.
I've been working recently with my brother's AT&T i777 Samsung Galaxy S2. I couldn't root it at first, then i found the note that i777 does not have the bootloader lock, and then i proceeded with installation of CM stable version, step by stop, according to this page:
Install_CM_for_i777 (cannot post links)
So...i downloaded file, renamed it and placed it in my Galaxy S2 internal memory (the same folder where i put files to my Galaxy Nexus).
Phone does not have stock recovery, so i thought about flashing it via Odin after changing file format in Total Commander.
Anyway, i took out battery, placed it in again and...BANG! Phone only boots while on charger or USB cable. I am able to get it into Download mode. That's why i tried to repair it using almost all firmwares (via Odin 1.85), i used Siyah kernel to get it right, and i even flashed the proper bootloader to make it move. On the way, i also flashed some i777 firmwares that were already rooted. No results.
IT ONLY SHOWS THE EMPTY BATTERY SCREEN, FLASHES, AND BACK AGAIN. LOOP.
I would reallly, Reallllly appriciate help.
Thanks!
You've mentioned a lot in your post, some of which isn't very clear to me, so I'm going to ask a few questions in an effort to fully understand where you are. (I'm less worried about how you got there).
The immediate goal will be to get your pone booting into the stock samsung distribution.
We'll cover rooting and custom firmware later.
You are able to get into boot mode (that's a good sign), but are you flashing the stock UCMD8 firmware via desktop Odin?
If no, then flash the stock UCMD8 firmware (see sig)
If yes, when the flash is complete, does the screen show the result: pass?

Thank you for your answer and concern Cyril. But i don't know how (i'm still wondering why) i managed to get it right. In rage, i pushed the battery from the model i9100 (GSM Galaxy S2) and....it BOOTED! The rom and kernel was not right so i flashed already rooted version of firmware 2.3.6 and from that step, when i noticed i had superuser, i installed CM 10.2 stable ROM. During the process of installation of CM 10.2 i had to switch batteries (at most 3 times change battery in order to push phone to recovery and escape bootloop during installation of gapps). Now the phone works well with both batteries and is safe and sound. BUT STILL!!! I wonder why it reacted on the battery from i9100 model? Why this was the factor the phone needed to procede with further modifications? Any ideas? Feed my curiousity, lol.
Charlie
I've raged on this device a time or three myself, I promise.
The most abnormal part of each of your posts is the battery involvement. You shouldn't have to touch the battery at all for recovery mode, download mode, or flashing, so I would guess that you're up against dirty or failing charge port, a near-dead or failing OEM battery, or similar issue which made your flashing journey more troublesome than it should have been.
There are several posts [like this one] about troubles using i9100 batteries. They fit and function, but exhibit undesirable charging issues, which consequently tend to get blamed on some other aspect of the device.
The symptoms of a dirty or failing charge port also commonly mis-direct users to blame firmware, batteries, and everything-else.

Hi guys, I have an issue with my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML).
I flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 and everything was working fine. That is, until I decided I wanted to go back to stock ROM. That's when everything went wrong.
1) I went into recovery mode (using Power + Volume UP).
2) I wiped cache partition (probably my first mistake)
3) I restored to factory settings (possibly my second mistake)
4) After this I tried to flash the "recovery1.img" of the stock ROM I had.
5 ) That didn't work so I tried using ADB to flash different ".zip" files (all firmware downloaded from Asus website)
When that didn't work either, I abandoned and rebooted the phone. But it doesn't boot anymore.
It is stuck on the Asus screen and nothing happens.
Does anyone know if and how I can get out of this situation?
I must insist on the fact that I am only a novice. Until now I've only ever known iOS and have no knowledge whatsoever of how Android works.
I already posted my question here ("http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/possibly-softbricked-zenfone-2-t3248318") and was told I might want to try posting it here as well. I hope one of you can help me repair my mess !
