Browser and ICS ROMs - HTC EVO 3D

I am having an issue with stock ICS and MeanRom 2.6 with the browsers and I can't seem to find a solution even after searching. I do not have the problem with GB ROMs.
Every time I try to open a link inside a webpage like NBCNews I have to hold link and tell it to open it instead of the link just opening up after clicking on it. Same thing if the page has a drop-down menu for more stories and such. I know it's got to be some kind of setting I am missing but all the browsers seem to do this for me so I keep going back to the GB ROMs.
Any ideas on why this happens? Everything else works great but this browser bug is annoying.

AW: Browser and ICS ROMs
I also had this issue once...
Not quite sure, but do u have adblock or similar installed?
I think that was my problem...
If so put the side(s) on the white list^^

That's the linking issue that Apple sued HTC over and it's been fixed in a lot of the custom ROM's. Google search for "htclinkify" and you should find some articles and threads about it.

Thank you for trying to help. I did find a thread and did the removal of the apk. but it did not help. It seem to have an issue with just NBCNews it seems as CNN website the links open up fine. SO, so far just one site so maybe it's something they are doing at NBCNews mobile site.

ICS and Exchange Calendar Sync

Would post this in the Development thread, but I'm at <10 posts right now... Reading up on this issue, it appears to be an issue with the Email/Exchange APKs that come in a default ICS build. Reading this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22572739&postcount=510
Shows that there is a fix available, however the Rapidshare link appears not to be functioning properly. Does anyone have a mirror available somewhere where I could download the files? This is a major issue for me personally since I use my phone for work-related activities.
Thanks!
I am using newtoroots ICS and have no problems. Also when I ran CleanRom ICS I never had a problem. The link you posted is to a senseless rom and that may be the issue.

That appears to be only related to that ROM. I use activesync daily for work.

Interesting. I do enjoy the look of Desensed ROMs better, but ultimately since I couldn't find a fix for this, I switched back to ICS/BusinessSense for the Exchange functionality.

Annoying pop up in ics browser

So every time I open my ics browser, I get a stupid pop up from mobilewinner.com saying I have won a free ipad. How do I find out what is causing this?

I'm getting this too happened right after a clean de-bloated rom installation with only Chrome installed. This was after a factory wipe as well. It happened a few times before I would like to figure out the root cause.
Did this happen on all sites, or any particular one?
I've read it may be related to advertiser or vbulletin forums.

I've got a rather strange issue

I've been on a few different Touchwiz roms and this seems to happen in all of them occasionally. I will click on a link in the browser (Any browser no matter which one) and it will highlight it like I pressed it correctly but then never load requiring me to long press and click open or open in new tab. Anyone know what causes this? It was like this on stock, beans and cleanrom. It does load very quickly when I click open but it will occasionally not open unless I long press and click open.
That happrns to me sometimes to..i dont know what it is either sometumes i think its just the link being weird

For me its not just a minor issue. It just straight up won't work on some sites requiring me to long press everywhere. Been like this since I got the phone. Figured it was some quirky touchwiz thing but it happened on aosp as well.
So after messing around with different browsers, the website I have the most trouble on is gamefaqs.com in that I can never click links to get around unless I long pres them and click open. Trying different browsers, it doesn't work on Chrome, The stock touchwiz browser or boat browser but does work on Firefox and UC Browser (Neither of which I am interested in).
So what could it be causing it I wonder?

[Q] Webpage not available issue with BlackStar JB v2

Not sure if I am alone on this but for what ever reason I am having trouble loading web pages from various sites. I know the sites are working cause I tried them on my computer and they loaded fine. I didn't have this issue with any of the BlackStar roms. Other than this one issue this rom is perfect so I'm hopping I can find solution. I tried reflashing, tried Tmrp and CMW and still nothing. Thanks in advance.

You probably already tried this, but test out dolphin (my preference) or any other browser. The stock browser on there didnt work well for me either.

Thanks for the help but yeah I did try using Dolphin along with Chrome and still same problem. The only one that kind of work is Opera Mini but I don't care for this browser much cause it shows every site in mobile version.

[Q] How do I fix SSL Errors from Google on a custom ROM?

I recently started using Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4 for my Evo and it's really great, but I'm having a problem. Any time I try to go to a HTTPS site from Google, I'll get an error saying "Connection Problem - net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" or "Connection Problem - net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" and I don't know what to do to fix it. I originally thought it was just the stock browser and the Gapps package that I installed with the ROM, but then I tried it on Chrome and Lightning Browser too and it's the exact same thing. For example, if I go to news.google.com it works completely fine, but if I'm on the Google home page and I tap News, which takes me to the HTTPS site, it always has an error message. I think it's only when accessing Google sites, I've gone to other HTTPS sites and it's been fine. It's not something wrong with DU necessarily, I've seen this issue brought up a lot in forums dealing with CyanogenMod, and sometimes about Chrome, but I've never seen a definitive fix or even a reason why this is happening to users with custom ROMS. Any help would be great, I'm not the only one having this problem and it would be nice to get an answer. It's preventing me from using some apps. Thanks ahead of time for any help if anyone has a solution or some advice.
Also I just noticed that it's also keeping me from seeing images in GMail. I wouldn't think that I'm the only one having this problem haha, if anyone knows any fixes I'd really appreciate it
