Does the Varizon Galaxy Note 2 have composite TV output via the headphone jack like some of the previous galaxy devices did? (I am trying to connect it to an in car DVD player)

I doubt it. That's what the mhl adapter is for.

Galaxy S3 MHL adapter

Just got my mhl adapter and plugged into the tv. It works but the framerate is terrible. My phone gets a really good pic and the tv one is poor.
Is this normal or have I missed some thing?

You sure it's even S3 compatible? Because I think only the genuine Samsung ones have the 11 pins.
Mines the genuine one. It works but disappointing on video.

itsa samsung adaptor, just from the infuse.
it worked on my skyrocket and Galaxy Note. i figured it would work on the S3
I have same issue, videos that I recorded using S3 cam plays really bad on tv with the genuine Samsung 11pin adapter. Its very choppy/stutters but YouTube or any other videos that I downloaded plays fine though... only the videos I recorded have issues. All the videos are recorded in 1080p. Any ideas what could be causing this?

If it works on any other phone then it's not S3 compatible because the new S3 cables have an 11 pin layout so works on S3 and nothing else.
Have you tried different televisions? . I'm gonna try another tv and then log with Samsung. It's not really watchable. Regretting not buying a dlna adapter instead at the minute

Will a DNLA adapter work with the S3 and any TV?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
My understanding is the dlna adapter just plugs into a tv's hdmi port.

Yep

If you open WMPlayer and under streaming enable. Allow devices to remote.
Then launch video on s3 and you should get icon in top left. Press and watch dlna . Only vids I have trouble with is mkv. I believe that is dlna adapter dependent and my media player doesn't have codecs.
Not managed to try another television yet though.

How to use MHL
Buy the OFFICIAL cable, power it with your Samsung adapter, pop it into a working TV. Turn the TV to that channel on HD. Plug in your phone.
I experience a slight latency slowdown, but nothing that would make it unsusable.
I'm probably being just picky, put it this way I've completed mariokart 64 on 150 on it.

I have no problem but you have me confused with your instructions.....
You say "pop it into a working TV" ~ Pop what into a working TV?
You say "Turn the TV to that channel on HD" ~ You are going to have to run that one by me again?
You say "Plug in your phone" ~ Surely in order for the TV to pick up the S3, the phone needs to be connected and powered BEFORE you connect it and the HDMI cable to the TV, not after?
I Have official adapter.
I use the charger that came with phone.
Plugged into telly the framerate is poor.
The quality isn't great either.
Not sure what's going on but it's pants !!!

Right

Hooking to car through USB

I'm about to get the S4 and i was wondering has anyone been able to hook it up to their car? I tried with my Nexus and it doesn't work, didn't know if it did with the S4. I have a 2010 nissan altima. Works great with an iPhone/ipod.

I have a 2012 Ford F-150 with the Microsoft SYNC unit. Hooking the phone up through USB does not work, unfortunately. I cannot play music through the USB connection like I can if i I use my wife's iPhone.
I had the same problem with the Galaxy S3. Nexus and the Droid DNA.
Bluetooth works great though and can play, reverse and advance tracks but that's about it.
USB doesn't work in my Totoya Corolla 2013. Bluetooth works beautifully, though.
I have a 2010 car... It has bluetooth for calls but not for playing music sucks because I just put all my music on Google Music.

Is it a VW? If so, change the Bluetooth chip.

If your car stereo has bluetooth then yes...Usb is a crap shoot. Sound difference is minimal...why not go cordless?

It's a nissan altima. And the bluetooth doesn't stream audio. Just does phone calls. Guess i need a new car with my new phone.

[Q] Aux output through Accessory Menu

I purchased an iBOLT Dock'n Play cable for my Verizon Galaxy Note 2 with 4.3 Jellybean. It worked well when I would go into the system settings and select Accessory and then output to headset. I recently switched to T-Mobile and a Galaxy S5 with Kitkat loaded. I have rooted the phone and am running Alliance ROM B2 as my DD. I cannot find the Accessory setting anymore and there are no output settings to change as in Jellybean. I really liked that feature because I could route the aux output through the microusb rather than having to plug in two cords (USB and AUX). I have searched everywhere on the web and the forums for a solution, but have not found anything that addresses the problem.
Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Do you want to output sound through the usb cable?
The accessory menu is still in Settings, under the heading "System" - that should be what you're looking for.

Yes. I would like to have audio output through usb. I saw the system accessories, but the only option is output through hdmi. Either stereo or surround. It used to have output through headset which would route it through the usb and eliminate the need for the aux cable from the headphone jack.

Sorry I can't help with this. I thought iPhones were the only ones that could even do that :silly:
Since when can android do this? I had a Note 3 and it didn't work, N5 didn't work, HTC one didn't work.
If you use the dock cable mentioned above, it works very well. The option just disappeared with the update to Kitkat.
