Hi guys I wanna share with you this awesome app developed by wangqi060934 that you can find for free on the play store.
LINK: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.myandroidtools&hl=it
With this app you can enable or disable any app services, receivers, activities or providers and so having full control on your personal or system apps.
I have been using AOSPA since Chirag built it, but I have never reached the 4.26 hours with my normal daily usage till I disabled those fu***** play service processes and then Android OS percentage has fallen down and no more wakelocks.:highfive: (See the attachments)
I found this app interesting because now I found a way to disable some Google Play Services processes which drain a lot of battery and use a lot of ram. I'll show you how to do this right now.
SERVICE
This is divided between third party & system and contains all services. Near every app name there is a white, blue or red number.
The white shows the total number of services, the blue shows the number of active services and the red shows the number of disabled services.
RECEIVER
This section is divided among Actions, Third Party & System. Also here, near every app name there is a white number that shows the total number of receivers and a red one that shows the number of disabled receivers.
GUIDE TO DISABLE SOME GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES PROCESSES WITHOUT LOOSING ANY FEATURES AND GAINING RAM & PRECIOUS BATTERY GUICE
Open SERVICE section and tap on System;
Find Google Play Services and tap on it;
Disable those services
Code:
AdRequestBrokerService
AnalyticsIntentService
AnalyticsService
FusedLocationService
FusedProviderService
GeocoreService
GeofenceProviderService
GoogleLocationManagerService
NlpLocationReceiverService
SystemUpdateService
WatchdogService
WearableControlService
WearableService
Open RECEIVER section and tap on System;
Find Google Play Services and tap on it;
Disable those receivers:
Code:
AccountChangedReceiver
GServicesChangedReceiver
SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
SystemUpdateService$Receiver
As you can see I have disabled the google analytics, that pratically is useless (but it takes 26 mb of ram) and most localization processes but If you do these steps in the right way, your localization service, gps, will continue to work properly. (see the gps status screenshot attached below)
I hope that this has been useful for all of you , and guys be careful when you disable things!

No, all will work as usual
In Google Play Services - RECEIVER section I have ConnectivityReceiver and PowerConnectedReceiver already disabled, not sure why because it is the first time I tweak Google Play Services.
I think you can verify these entries and eventually add them.
Excellent tool!
Does it activate after boot?
I can see receivers from frozen apps, does this mean they also bloat the system, even frozen?

Yes, all your changes will be applied after reboot.
Deleting an app is better than frozing, the frozen app itself remains on the device, is just "blocked" but the junk is always on your phone
Works fine on s3
I have noticed that some applications such as Prezzi Benzina require that GoogleLocationManagerService is active so that the geolocation functions properly. Who uses this function should not disable it.
Free other 75 MB of RAM on NeatROM 7.9
To disable the automatic startup of the app: Reciver-> Third Party -> "App Name" -> remove tick from BootUpReceiver / BootReceiver

these 2 are enough and after that greenify playstore.. it won't cause wakelocks ..enjoy
Great @hasta!
I've installed this app and applied your tricks....

I've got a problem with my wifes rooted galaxy s4 on Stock...
I installed this app at my own s3mini, disabled the recommended services and made a backup.
Then I brought this backup to my wifes s4, installed MyAndroidTools and restored the settings.
After that I've got security warnings want me to update security policies - I guess it's Knox. I tried to enable the services again, but some wont. Every now and then this security warning is coming up now... I've uninstalled MAT but the warning remains...
Furthermore her WhatsApp shortcut was gone while Whatsapp was still working... I needed to unistall and reinstall WhatsApp to bring back the shortcut...
Does anyone have an idea how to restore the system as it was before- or to bring Knox to silence again?

Try to remove app and reboot phone. I am not sure if it will help, but try if you did not.
I am wondering if there is a way to modify the Facebook APK to get contact sync working without modifying ContactProvider.apk as I am using a non rooted phone and don't want to root just for this. In the past I have used HaxSync but with the latest Facebook APIs that no longer works.
Is it simply a case of adding the WRITE_CONTACTS permission to the Facebook APK and if so is that (easily) possible?
Thanks for any help, if there is a better subforum for this type of thing please let me know also, thanks.
I don't believe it is app specific, it's through their servers, if I understand the problem correctly. The only thing I have seen from the apps that used to work is they say the contact has to grant permission to let them sync the info before it will work. This seems like just modding the app will not be enough to help accomplish what you are trying to do.

For third party apps, (e.g. HaxSync, UberSync etc.) what you're saying is true. These apps no longer function due to server side changes by Facebook in the form of updated APIs (as I mentioned in the OP).
However I am talking about the official Facebook app. With this app, the contact sync still works perfectly, on ROMs where ContactsProvider.apk is modified to explicitly grant permission to the Facebook app (com.facebook.katana) to write contacts, without the app itself requiring the permission that every other app needs. OEMs such as Samsung modify ContactsProvider.apk in this way so as to allow Facebook to sync (by basically adding an exception to the permission check). There are also flashable mods for custom ROMs, as well as an Xposed module which performs this task. Obviously these require unlocked bootloader & custom recovery, or root & Xposed respectively.
However, I believe that if the app itself is modified to require this permission (i.e. android.permission.WRITE_CONTACTS, it should also work, without requiring an exception in ContactsProvider.apk.
The reason modifying ContactsProvider is "preferred" by most is that doing it that way allows the app to be installed from the Play store and thus maintain auto-updates, whereas if you modify the APK you no longer get auto-updates, and would have to manually update. But that's worth it to me to get contact syncing working.
EDIT: On closer inspection, it may be more complicated than I thought. The Facebook app already has this permission, there must be something else preventing it from functioning. I still believe it is possible to get it working simply by modifying the APK, but it is likely beyond my capabilities.

Actually this fiasco started a couple of years ago. When Facebook & Google had a spat over data sharing. Facebook app has the support to sync contacts. But it is not natively supported. It is just a matter of 0 & 1. But OEM like Samsung, HTC have made contract with Facebook individually, so it is supported on those phones.
For syncing, if you are rooted you can use an Xposed module here in XDA. It's something like Xfbmod. And for the apps, Sync.me still works like a charm. I used it just a while ago.

I've seen a few forum posts referencing things along these lines, but I have found absolutely zero concrete evidence of such a "spat". There is nothing in Android to specifically disallow FB syncing, the OEMs that support it have modified the framework to explicitly grant the app permission. For a reference on this, check the CM gerrit issue about this. To quote Steve Klondik (founder of CM) on this:
Yeah, screw Facebook. We should not be hacking up the framework because they won't fix their app.

The OEMs have decided to make a workaround, for their users benefit. Not because they have some contract, of which I have seen no evidence. The issue is with Facebook's app and their refusal to fix the issue.
As I mentioned in the OP if you bothered to read it, I am not rooted and do not want to be, and am also fully aware of the Xposed module.
As for Sync.ME, I installed it the other day and it asked straight away to upload all my contact data to their servers. It's not my place to put the details of my friends and family in the hands of some company I'm not particularly familiar with.
Tip: Installing Facebook APK version 28 or lower will give you the ability to sync contacts again. Updating to the latest version will still allow you to sync for a limited amount of time until it re-downloads updated configuration files (I think?). So I think the problem is just some config or database file disabling the feature.

I installed version 28 and got no option to sync. Are you on AOSP or some OEM/custom ROM? Version 28 was released long after sync stopped working on the official FB app for myself and many other people.

I'm using Samsung Note 4 official rom. Try older ones? Mine doesn't have sync if I use versions above 28. It stopped working for me around October 1st week (Version 49). So when I want to sync, I have a titanuim backup of my version 24 data and just restore it (without restoring app itself). That way I can sync for a few minutes until the menu disappears again.
Edit: read the whole thread and I see that the problem was on other roms only. But nevertheless, Facebook disabled contacts syncing for all phones now since around version 40+. Only way to make it work is to downgrade or the steps I used above.
Hi guys. For a while my s3 has problems. With any rom, the applications after 1 or 2 days start to trouble and the phone becomes unusable. The Applications are forced to close on their own. Is there a solution to this problem or do I have to change rom every 2 days?
Sorry for my english. I'm italian

Any OS higher than the last official firmware will have issues because the hardware wasn't designed to incorporate the newer features. These new features must be either removed or patched out which causes instability issues because apps are looking for something that doesn't exist.
Only the last official firmware and os is stable enough to be called a release candidate.
RAM in android is not meant to be free. Android is programmed to use ALL of the RAM at ALL TIMES. This allows apps to open quicker as they have been preloaded because they are determined to be an app you will use regularly. If you don't use the app it will eventually be omitted from RAM automatically and replaced with the next app deemed to be used more regularly.
People should be paying attention to how Android is actually programmed before recommending false hopes on apps like "greenify".
Apps like greenify will run in RAM and try to omit the running processes. Android will override the decision and make the app run regardless, only to be closed again by greenify. This causes a 'war' between os and app and uses excessive power. Greenify is and always will be a placebo.
Common causes for apps not behaving are:
1, Interference from other apps
2, manual interference ie permissions being manually revoked.
3, apps not installed via playstore.
4, incompatible operating systems.
5, poor programming in the first place.
So in summary, if you use anything but unrooted stock firmware you will encounter issues. This comes with the territory of messing with things you have no clue about, including apps that claim to make everything better.

Im not telling him that the ram should be free. What im telling him that if you are low on ram (like our gs3 has 831 mb of ram) each time you open an app it loads into the ram that previously most probably has been used by other app causing lag because of the time needed to remove old app from app and load a new one. When you have more ram in device it just replaces the "dummy file" from the ram so there is no lag because there is no app that will not want to be killed
@shivadow: your RAM-lecture is IMO quiet irrelevant here. 800MB available means constantly moving necessary things out of /into RAM. Custom-kernels add x-RAM therefore, but freezes /FCs are just caused by hickups during x-RAM-ops. @antony991: I could use S3 stable and battery friendly by using a lite-ROM, without GApps, with a few lite apps only. My favourite was an unofficial Slim-build.

FDroid is safe? are there malware apps?
FDroid offers open-source apps only: checked carefully, fewer choice.
Yalp gives you a link to GPlay: free versions only.
Both offers you the lowest chance of malware, but no insurance.

And sometimes my phone took so long to charge. I tried using stock adapter, and ugreen with quick charge 3.0. But still doesn't make any difference. So i think it's software related issue.
Can you make a fix for these problem? Like custom kernel so it can charge faster?

WebView is just an additional app for me .. I use Chrome Dev which can provide me WebView.
I use Google Inbox and user should have an ability to remove this app.
Calendar plugin is just an addon for people who do not use Google Calendar to keep track of shedules.
It's all personal opinion and most of the apps are available in PlayStore so you have the alternate to install the apps as user apps.

Yes, not active I suppose. Maybe something to do with permissions. Even if you delete it, the folder remains although the contents get deleted

I deleted those folders too via twrp file manager.
Also FM, talkback & google tts.
And 2 more bloatware like Ibook and someother starting with "A".
All the above from either /system/app or system/priv-app.
Does anyone know of any way to block/stop apps such as Facebook from viewing my other installed apps?
With the new Facebook update they've now got tracking of your off Facebook activity. Its in your settings and it's called, Off Facebook Activity.
Don't believe me? Check, it's deffinatelly there now in latest update.
I know can turn it off but them being able to see my other apps and to see what I do on there just annoys me.
Is there any way that I can prevent them from seeing my apps.
Also some things I've googled have ended up getting my email address as got emails about what I searched.
I have ap-ops which don't have option to block it, I have xposed which I don't like to use as it stops other apps from functioning but I might start using it again if it stops this. Also I have magisk installed and rooted via this.
I have a Samsung galaxy S7.
Hope there's a way to do this, any apps or any other way that anyone knows.
Thank you.

I've uninstalled it for now, didn't need titanium though.
Can use Facebook via a browser instead.
Thanks. Would be good if a way to block even browsers from viewing apps and getting my email address.
@Guestme
You always can try to turn of and/or revoke an user-app's permission. Of course it then may happen that app is no longer properly functioning.
Below are the app permissions available on Android 6.0 and up. The permissions you see on your device may vary by manufacturer.
Body Sensors
Calendar
Camera
Contacts
Location
Microphone
Phone
SMS
Storage
Note: If device is running a version lower than Android 6.0, go to review app permissions for more information about how permissions work on your device.

I did disable all Facebook permissions but still had my off of Facebook apps information. Who knows if other apps are doing the same thing, I block all unneeded permissions in all my apps and keep them frozen until I need to use them. Thanks for your reply.
