[Q] best battery rom and kernel?? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hey,what it's the best life battery rom and kernel for xperia x10 mini??Please, help me,I have CM 7.2 and my battery least only 18 hours. Please help me.

Every ROMs here are made with hard works and care. What developer would want to make bad battery ROM? The best way is to find it out yourself.
P.S. CM7 has very good battery. 18 hrs is great! isnt it?
Sent from my E10i using Tapatalk 2

with some sms per day (~100) and some other use, the rom i got most battery life was GingerSony, almost two days (for my x10minipro, but i think Teamvince created a x10mini rom as well) but even with that rom, if i play a game for some time, it wont even last one day, so battery life is not directly related to the rom itself but to the things you do with the phone, heavy use will mean heavy battery drain

Agree on everything mate, Gingersony really is the most stable and fast rom there is ( just need to flash the led fix ), and for me with that rom the battery lasts 3 full days ( 72H ) without shut down the phone and no charges, and it could last 4 days if i didn't have to listen to 1H of music a day, you probably are wondering how i get such battery life, well it's simple, i don't play games and i don't use much the wifi, i just listen music 1h a day and i send many sms ( even with those sms the battery doesn't drain that much ), and i don't overclock or undervolt, my settings are 480mhz max / 19 mhz min, no ram enhancement stuffs ( that eat more battery ), virtual memory 16 instead of 24/32/48, and card cache 128kb, with no animation effects and the brightness at the minimum, no gps or location services, no internet by data ( that eats battery ), gsm with 2g networks only, no automatic syncs with gmail, email etc.. and that's pretty much the settings i use xD. Take care of your battery and every rom will do you good , but i suggest Gingersony v06 yes .
If i helped you can press thanks...i think xD.

Crazy Seed, you recommend Gingersony v06, but it looks like the highest release for the X10 Mini was only v05. Is this correct or do you have another source?

Sorry mate your right, Sometimes i get confused with the x10 mini vs x10 mini 'pro' thing xD, mine is 'pro' xD.
But yes for your Mini the last one was V05, but i recommend you to port the V06 ( x10 mini pro version ) to that V05, because it has less bugs, i think xD.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't think I'm up to the task of porting a ROM though.

You're welcome. Don't think it's a hard thing to do, it actually is really easy xD, i will resume it for you.
First just extract the winrar of the rom you want to port and the rom that is for your phone.
- Just change the folders app/fonts/framework/media of your Rom to the ones that are on The rom you want to port.
On the "etc" folder:
- Remove all files in the Permissions folder except the files "handheld_core_hardware" and "platform" of your Rom and copy all the ones that are on the V06 except for those 2 files i mentioned.
- Then remove all files in the Init'd folder except the file "00banner" of your V05 and copy all the ones that are on the V06 except for that file i mentioned.
Then select the folders Meta-Inf and System ( and other folders if it exists there, but usually there's no more folders there ), Right click of the mouse, Add to Archive ( winrar ), put it as a .ZIP file and not .RAR, then OK, and there you have it .
And that's it xD.
If i helped press thanks

[A] battery drainers answer to longer standby time

well, I think I have an answer for u20i x10 mini pro that if we put gingerbread version the battery drains really fast...
last 20 hours, I worked with flashtool 0.2.9.1
I installed xrecovery version (freeXperia X8)with it then I optimized it.
reboot it, the install new fresh ROM. then see the differences.
maybe theres two possible answer:
1. the recovery is better than xrecovery that put by D4rKn3sSyS(I don't know yet).
or
2. the phone yet optimized.
success for all
changelogs :
- phone is really fast, no lags, no process running
- 15 hours battery remains 50%(way better)
- standy time not drains battery
- my battery isn't original, 2nd quality(I think the original is way more longer)

my battery lasts 43 hrs.
but i use the phone only for calls , music , camera and 1 or 2 games.
and i also use it on 2g network , undervolt and screen brightness ~30%.
and yes i use custom rom .... gingerdx...
undervolted??mine's undervolted yet..
does it 0%battery loss when phone's idle??
and please find me the tuts you use for undervolted your x10 mp

[Q] Recommendation for a stable battery saving rom

Hi!
I used my P500 for some months with CyanogenMmat, which is really great but sometimes produced screen freezes.
Now I'm giving my phone to a technically less skilled person. To make sure this person enjoys the phone as much as I did, I want to install an adequate rom for her.
In my opinion this means, the rom should be really stable and guarantee long battery life. Also it wouldn't hurt if the rom was quite up2date, but that's not the main issue.
Can you recommend me a rom?
Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,
I recommend you to give her the phone with rooted official GB because according to my experience, I believe that official one is the best for technically less skilled person and I also suggest you to install Player pro for best experience of music with its inbuilt 5 band equalizer and you may also use DSP pack but I think it will hard for her to adjust the 10 band equalizer..
Also suggest you to use flash player 11 for stock rom to enjoy online games and videos.. Search the XDA for the thread..
And no doubt that battery backup is good on stock roms. You can also use Juice defender app for enhancing the battery life.
If she use Stock rom definitely she will not face any problem with wifi, usb, 2G,3G or any thing else.
Press THANKS If I helped you.!!!
In my oppinion best stable is nightly4e and franco #4 kernel both combinations do extremly good job of preserving battery life
I am now using RESURRECTION 1.5, stock based and smooth so far
Both the wife and I are running oxygen with franco-4 and the wifes a junkie . Meaning phones always in her hand ... Making calls, texts, searching the net ,fb, playing smurfs and other games 75% of a day and she has never had any real problems other than a FC once or twice a week but phone always lasts her from 6:30 am till about 11pm. With her heavy use

[Q] [Active] Battery drain in ICS

Should the battery drain in ICS version be so bigger than in gingerbread stock version?
I use MiniCMSandwich Lite AOSP but even with gouvernor and io scheduler set, the battery is gone in less than a day...
Do you have any ideas? I disable all unnecessary functions when not used.. :/
Likely yes because ICS is more demanding.

So in general, with the same usage behaviour, ICS will have greater power consumption than Gingerbread? I also have Huawei U8800 with Aurora ICS installed and didn't see such a difference compared to stock 2.3 firmware :/

ICS is bigger, more powerful, which means it will require more power from the phone and also more juice.
i used active n lww. both are using ics. but, the active the battery drain is so much more than lww. even when i try to use stock rom n kernel (my lww bootloader can't be unlocked) my lww stil can survive 1d 14h (even more) , but my active can survive max only 1 day..
i use both with the same usage of call , internet , messaging
My active lasts almost two days with data/wifi always on and normal usage, a few days ago, without any gaming i had 56hrs running before i had to recharge...I use JD plus and performance boosting scripts (and anonmous' excellent kernel) and also i use miui (but i think any rom can use it) which has lbe guard which allows to prevent any app from autostarting
yup, I've noticed this too. ICS drains battery way too fast. I'm using Active and have tried both stock rom/kernel and custom rom/kernel based on ICS. Now I'm back to GB, Spartan ROM / Rage kernel, battery lasts a little bit longer, half a day more I think. What's the practical advantage of ICS anyway? I really didn't notice any, hehe.

[Q] What is the less Draining Rom? / New (JB) FlashRom needing testers

People i have been experimenting many roms but i can't decide on which one to be definitive.
What is for you the best rom?
And the less draining battery rom?
For now i think that Prime HD, Gingersony, Stark v3, Arc Mini Nxt6 and Digdin Rom are the less draining ones, what do you think people? i bet a lot of people have this same question about the less draining battery rom so this thread will help a lot of people.
NOTE: For Xperia Mini Pro x10
Ps: People, who wants to try a new JB Rom? Just scroll down and see Kilroy posts for the download link, and give suggestions and opinions.
You are right about PrimeHD:
While on Gingerbread, it was my favourite ROM.
Personally, I think naa´s Minicm10, and all ROMs based on it, i.e. SlimRoms, etc., drain much less battery than GB/ICS ROMS, especially
if you undervolt them and set the animations in developer options to 0.5 (this makes the overall performance smoother).
Installing a few build.prop tweaks also increases the battery performance a lot:
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=55
wifi.supplicant_scan_intervall=180
The above tweaks I have collected from a number of forums and tested on my device running JB.
---------- Post added at 10:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 AM ----------
Oh, I almost forgot: Wiping your battery stats (in Recovery-advanced options-wipe battery stats)
and then completely charging and draining your Phone again may also help...

Ginger sony for ginger bread still remains the best, its smooth, fast and has less force closuresand light.used to be a fan of minicm until i found ginger sony.but as for jelly bean,i think its a waste of time running jellybean on our minis i havent found a smooth enough version for day to day use.
Hey people thanks for the replys. About the jb roms being better in battery yes i think they are 2, but i didn't stick with those roms because they are still 2 much buggy :S, buggy low sound or buggy radio or buggy distortions in numbers or letters (status bar) :S. So i am currently searching for the less draining Ginger rom but when i think i got the best one it immediately looks like it's not :S, at some point they start to drain battery faster in calls. For example, Prime HD i did a call 20 minutes and only a 3% drain but in the next call those 20 minutes drained 10% which is much more :S, then on gingersony i think it's always the same % of draining, looks like it's more stable than all the others, but in some points it starts to drain fast 2 :S. Arc Mini NXT6 i liked the battery drain more than the others, but i don't like the colors of the Messaging app in it and if i trade it with another messaging app it will drain more battery :S, so i'm always with no way out :S.
Is there any way of having the messaging app of a rom (gingersony for example) and put it on Arc Mini NXT6?
Thanks, dobsava! I've tried most GB ROMs out there, modded quite a few of them, but strangely never tried GingerSony. It does seem much more stable than most other GBs.
As an afterthought: Would any of you guys mind to test a JB ROM I've been working on? Maybe (and that is a big maybe, I'm a hacker/modder, not really a dev) I can change your mind about JB.Please PM me your awnsers, they don't really belong in this thread.

Yap Gingersony is the most stable for now and with the less bugs. About JB i just have one thing to say: Bring It On \m/ xD. But first of course give us the details of the rom and kernel to use.
JB ROM
-based on SlimRoms
-Gapps installed
-many performance tweaks(found them all over the forums, credits list coming after successful testing )
-running on newest naa jb kernel (currently jb03)
-download link coming soon!!!
If you are testing this ROM, please give me constructive feedback. It is still in the testing phase. If you are a dev, feel free to modify it and please give me suggestions.

I'm not a dev, i'm only a good rom tester xD. Based on Slimroms? Then i'll start my suggestions right now because that rom had the bugs that i said in the beginng of this thread, It has the buggy low audio, radio not working ( or if it works is by bluetooth), and the status bar is a little distorted the numbes of the hours and percentage of battery, and the performance was still slow if we compare it to gingersony. About the keyboard i think the best one is the default one, besides, it doesn't have the scrolling in smiles bug anymore the android 4.0+. And yes i will test it when you give the link to it

If gingersony is same as stark v3 but with new tweaks, doesn't it make it better than stark v3? xD. I wouldn't say it's the same because gingersony is the most stable rom ( the only rom that automaticaly saves the Rendering Effect for battery potencial economy ) and the battery drain is not inconstant like other roms, for example: some phone calls i make the battery drain in gingersony doesn't change, but in other roms it always changes the % battery drain for worse :S. So i believe no rom can match gingersony right now.

stark v3 is pretty much an old rom now
and ginger sony is new
if the devs of stark v3 update it now
i dont think no rom can match the stability, speed and performance compared to stark,
and about ginger sony
it has got a bug in music player
while headphones are plugged in
if u keep the device a lil bit of flat or keep it in pocket
the music plays in slow motion
no other roms have this bug
i used zencefil and slim roms
they played my music well
but ginger sony kept playing it in slow motion as long as it was in my pocket

stark v3 really is a nice rom so i think that beetween stark and gingersony one is the best, i changed from stark v3 to gingersony v6 because at some point i saw stark draining more battery than normal and gingersony was more stable in that just like it was more stable in battery draining on phone calls, but the main difference is that gingersony is the only rom that can save automatically the Effect Rendering option.
Wow really? xD, i never had any bug like that in gingersony or any rom xD, ups yes i did in stark v3 the walkman player pauses music bug found xD, are you sure you're talking about gingersony v6? i'm using it and i used gingersony v3 and i didn't see those bugs never xD, this is the first time i see someone saying about that bug so i don't know what to say xD.

Lol that's weird i never had a bug like that not even on Gingersony xD, maybe it's the music player you're usng that causes that in that rom xD, jetaudio basic is the best player, give it a try xD.
Yes i wanted to keep arc mini nxt 6, but it has some youtube/call plugin force closes and some distortions on status bar and on top of it all i don't like the sms app in it because of the colors xD, if it wasn't for that i would keep arc mini nxt 6, but gingersony for me is the best alternative to arc mini so it's all cool xD, and now you must be thinking: that's easy man, just remove those apps and install a new sms app/ and i say: yes i can remove all that but the status bar problem stays and all other sms apps will drain more battery than the original rom one xD, so i stay Gingersonyed xD those are 2 of the best roms so it's always a great choice .

If it is walkman player it wont work, if you install xloud or beats or other audio drivers some players don't work properly. Did you try to play music on apps like mixzing, jetaudio basic, maven player, or other simple players? :S.

[XU]Your Rom Experience

Greetings
I have some Problems with my Sony Xperia U Phone. Any ROM i try , the battery drains are really heavy compared to my One Plus ONe with Sultanxda´s CM 12.1 based ROM. I barely get 1day pure standby time with no other apps installed....just clean (i dont use the phone! just idle for testing). I charge the phone at night and on the next morning only 30-50% battery are left(androidOS on top). I tried [4.0.4] BendzooROM ; [5.1.1][v2][2016/04/02] Enfriar Z5 and [4.4.4][FINAL BUILD][XperiaSTE Team] CyanogenMod 11.0
Atm i stay on CM 11 and try to optimise the battery Life via Wakelock Detector/betterBAtteryStats/batteryCalibration and recommend settings (the usual routine to find the culprit).
So far i disabled cLock because it scans for Location (weather Widget) and keeps the phone from DeepSleep.
Also i disabled Calendar/CalendarMemory/OpenDelta.
Another Process is "mal_isi" @Kernel wakelock (betterbetterystats) but i dont know what the process does.
I have basically ran out of ideas....So i need some suggestions/help/hints for ROMS/Kernel with good Battery Life (3days is OK)
PS: The reason for this --> my mums first smartphone experience ! And i dont wont to tell my Mum she need to plug in the charger every 8-12h
PSS: Sry for the bad english (greetings from germany)
Have a nice day and big thx
[EDIT]
Just for your Info. The Phone last for 6 Days !!!! with minimal usage @ [4.4.4][FINAL BUILD][XperiaSTE Team] CyanogenMod 11.0 !
The Solution was this:
"So far i disabled cLock because it scans for Location (weather Widget) and keeps the phone from DeepSleep.
Also i disabled Calendar/CalendarMemory/OpenDelta."
