Hi guys,
a friend of mine has the Desire X.
Yesterday the phone turned off because of an empty battery.
Now he can't turn it on again.
Phone was untouched in that sense that it wasn't unlocked via HTC and no modifications of any kind were made.
When the phone is connected to the charger or connected via USB to the PC the LED is on.
EDIT: phone is not found via adb
Any ideas how to turn it on?
Unplug device from charger and hold power button for at least 10 seconds. It should reboot.
Otherwise press volume down and power and hold them both for at least 3 seconds. This will get you into bootloader where you can select reboot with volume buttons and power to confirm.
AW: Desire X turned off and doesn't turn on anymore
Does not work. This is what we tried in the first place.

But he didn't do anything like root, etc.
But if it is a hboot brick, yes you can do nothing.

I don't know, maybe he took an OTA...

Hi what did you end up doing? Did your Desire X come back to life? How did you fix it? It just happened to mine. Same exact symptoms!
What actually happens when this occurs, and why is it not fixible.?

Can you just replace empty battery with another fully charging?
My HTC Desire X didn't turn on too (with still the orange light), so I tried the famous "Hold 'power on' + 'volume down'" for hard reset but didn't work. I decided to plug in my PC (I say it but I'm don't think it was decisive) and I removed my MicroSD and the SIM card and then, the previous manipulation (Power on + volume down) worked.
Hope it will help.

Hey guys here's a tough one. I have a 3G/Flyer that has no charge to its battery what so ever. when i plug it in the charger, the power LED blink a couple of times and then it boots into bootloader and LED stops blinking (i know that it doesnt charge while in bootloader) as soon as it hits bootloader it shuts down again only to start blinking and do the same thing over and over and over.
any ideas??
The little charge that it gets is immediately drained by the bootloader white screen.
What if anything did you do prior to getting stuck in this state

So I have a evo lte that has been unlocked. Flashed the custom viper rom... After 2 weeks, the phone started acting weird today. I booted into recovery to wipe dalvik and cache. Then the phone started going crazy. Rebooted a few times and now it's a brick. Can't turn on or charge. Tried hard reset and combination of buttons to boot into bootloader. Nothing works. Any idea?

Ahh okay, then my idea of just smashing it and getting a new one probably wouldn't help much.
Hopefully someone can come up with something useful. I hope it gets worked out for you.

Seems weird its doing that on its own. Sure u didn't run the S-Off MOD? Have u plugged it into the PC to see if it recognizes it?

hmm...
read somewhere that putting the phone in the freezer would work.
i left the phone in the freezer for 5 mins and it turned on... But after 1-2 mins it should shut off again and not allow me to boot. any help?
how long have you left it on the charger? are you using the 1A HTC charger or a different one? when mine has shut off due to low battery and i've tried to charge it at someone else's house using an old micro-USB charger it would take HOURS before it would even show the light and allow it to be turned on. the light would occasionally blink but that was it. turns out the charger was a 180mA charger... you said you're overseas, maybe it's a power issue.
myself and a few other members have had this issue! i wasnt rooted but i had the issue of it not turning on or charging. i took it to the sprint store and they gave me a band new evo. =p

Has nothing to do with the charger. I always charge with the oem charger.

Try letting the phone die completely..once dead plug into charger and see if it starts lighting up. If it does, attempt to boot into recovery. Best of luck!

Can't even turn on the phone. If I put it in the freezer for a few min, it would boot. Recovery says 75%charged. But it would shut off by itself after a minute

So, I'm at work and I am unable to use my phone. Phone will not power on, I've held the power button for well over a minute in the hopes that it would restart but nothing. I was using the phone just fine today with no hiccups. I've tried charging the phone, but the light will not appear, so it does not seem to be charging. I've also removed the SIM Card, nothing as well. I've tried plugging it into a computer to see if it would sync, and yet again, nothing.
Any solutions?
I'm using the newest P.A.C. ROM, not even overclocked

I've looked at the phone under the brightest bulbs we have here, no indication of any of the sensors lighting up. It's really strange. I've been tinkering with ROMS for several years now and nothing like this has ever happened to me. You would think at least one of the sensors would light up.
Power is what I meant there, try booting into recovery from there

I can't boot up the phone, it's neither charging or booting or giving me any indication that it's alive.

Seem hardware issue you'll to check voltage of the battery (eventually dead), and try another usb cable.

I have used 3 different USB cables in the vicinity and none of them have worked. How would I go about checking my voltage?
Use a multimeter, if you dont have one youll need to find someone with the same phone and test with his.battery.

plug it in to an ac charger not usb let it charge for a few hours then unplug it and hold power or power+volume down under a bright light.
your HTC One is a doorstop, a brick, a paperweight, useless now.

your reply is not helpful. if you dont have anything helpful to say then what is the point of posting. other people have had this exact problem and their phone came back on after charging for a while. this is not what xda is we are a community that helps each other

I do not have a multimeter, I use to have one. When I get home I will use my standard wall socket charger and if nothing happens it is most definitely a hardware issue. Hopefully my AT&T store is open tomorrow and they can help me address the issue. If I get it on before then I will update this thread with a solution.
What caused this to happen?

1. Charge the device for at least 10 minutes
2. With the device truly OFF (NOT ON STANDBY) , push in and hold volume up and volume down AND power button And HOLD for 2 minutes and let go once 2 Minutes has passed.
Doing this will calibrate the Circuit within the battery charging system.

This one is for HTC One X but it's worth to try as i did once. The fastboot menu will appear and disappear for several times. Just ignore it and continue until you've got your two minutes

Problem solved. I changed battery and recalibrated battery circuit+battery. Now works fine. But its too hard to find a replacement battery for hox+ 2100 mAh battery pack. I mean the original spare. There are bad and low quality batteries in the market.
