These are Theme templates for the people that like to change things up without haveing to flash a whole ROM.
They only contain the app, font, and framework folders for the system. AGAIN THIS IS NOT A ROM.
You can use this for a couple of diffrent things:
1. dodex a stock rom
2. return a themed rom back to stock deodexed
3. Create your own theme w/o building a whole ROM.
Have fun and happy themeing
YES, i know things like this are kind of outdated but i'm set in my ways and still use them. So, if you use them, please hit the thanks button.

I would like to transfer the theme from one rom to another. I will be transferring Scott's Developer edition theme from his Cleanrom Developer edition to a stock deodex'd rom. Is there any way to do this? I have little experience with themeing roms but I can follow directions pretty good.
isn't cleanrom pretty much a stock rom?

it can be as simple as pushing the specific apps into your phone but it isnt most of the time...
devs make loads of modifications and such so usually isnt as simple
but id suggest you check out tutorials about themeing and the intro to themeing thread

Thanks, it looks like it is going to be complicated.
call me crazy but I *think* the blue theme from the dev edition is actually a skin defaulted by the ROM, called blu bugaloo or something? see if there's an apk in /system/app for that ROM, put it into the same place for the ROM you want, it should just show up in your skin options, apply it? you could also ask scott, he's a good dev and quite helpful

Yes that theme file is part of it but I dont think it changes everything. I have asked Scott and he has been helping me quite a bit, but I don't want to bug him either . He told me to ask on his forum too but I already had this topic open...

the skin is basically fusion.apk, to get any other themed items from a ROM, you could pull out these and use them in your new ROM:
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
/system/app/Rosie.apk
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/framework/htc.resources.apk
/system/app/dialer.apk (only if the dialer is themed)
/system/app/phone.apk (same ^^^)

This has worked for everything but the GPS icon. The icon is still stock and visible even when disabled. Scott's rom has replaced the GPS icon and made it invisible when GPS was turned off. Any ideas?
you can replace the gps on icon with one that has been made transparent, but without being able to use pc at the moment cant tell you where its at. i think in either systemui or framework-res

that's in systemUI.apk - maybe try pulling it again from where you want and install it to /system/app of your new ROM. It sounds like you're missing it?

I tried copying the systemui from Scott's rom to the stock rom and flashing it, but it doesn't make a difference. I verified that the same images from Scott's rom are in the rom I just flashed, as I can view them with root explorer. It still shows stock though.
The three custom image files for the gps icon in scotts rom are:
stat_sys_gps_acquiring
stat_sys_gps_acquiring1
stat_sys_gps_acquiring2
However, the rom is ignoring these files and instead using:
sym_gpsone_0_sprint
sym_gpsone_3_sprint
sym_gpsone_0_vzw
These three files are the stock white sense crosshair icons.
This is a view of the files from SystemUI.apk res\drawable-hdpi
The three blue icons are the ones I want to use.
That was small, here is a bigger version:

if you have 7zip you can open the apk with the images you want, copy them to your desktop, rename them to the name the new rom uses, then paste or drag them into the new apk (opened with 7zip), by the way, I think/hope you're off one png name, no way is a sprint rom using a vzw png lol
I was wrong, it is only using two files:
sym_gpsone_0_sprint
sym_gpsone_3_sprint
One is GPS active and one is GPS off.
I dont think renaming it is the issue. I have tried copying the entire systemUI.apk folder from Scott's rom over to the stock rom, and it still does the same thing. The default icons are also present in Scott's rom, just not used.
My next question is, what file (XML file?) references these files?

-trust me, pull the 3 images you want out of his sysUI using 7zip
-rename from stat_blah_acquire_0
to sym_sprint_gps_blah_0
-repeat steps for other pngs
-open up new rom sysui with 7zip
-paste in renamed pngs
-push modded apk to phone or flash it
PHP:
I've been getting really annoyed by the transition when you open and close apps on the stock touchwiz roms. So i made this.
1. You have to be rooted
2. Copy the framework-res.apk to the SD card
3. Using root explorer (or whatever you use) push it to "system/framework".
*******This is only tested on stock deodexed KL1, and KMM*********
Don't blame me is something happens...MAKE A BACKUP!!!

THIS THREAD IS USELESS NOW....I MADE A WHOLE ROM
SEE HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421014
So i asked many people but didnt get much help but i finally figured out how to get system.img and boot.img and unpacked them too.
Now i want to ask, what are the things that a custom ROM should have? Things we should add or remove? will removing apk's and adding a few kernels be enough? How can i change the theme?

First, always new kernel.
Second, CM theming is easy. For the rest of the roms yiu can use apktool.
You should make two versions: lite and full.
Lite is stripped down full w/o GAPPS.
Supercharger and Turbocahrger scripts are nice. For the rest: google is your best friend!
Greets!
I remove all of the apps that draw alot of memory, mostly carrier crap(bloatware)then i add all of the free apps from the market that i use alot, then i go to UOT kitchen and set a theme for my new rom,i also use 7-zip and macromedia fireworks to customize the rosie, wallpapers, splash screen, boot animations, etc,i also add a few tweaks for the build.prop, you can also edit the text in the updater-script.Like the guy above said, google is your best friend.
Hey everyone,
I'm really sorry if this has been posted out there someone, but I did search and I did not find what I was looking for, as this is recent.
So, I've flashed Samsungs latest ICS official ROM, but I really hate the TW UI. Is there anyway I can apply the UI of the official ICS ?
I'm not refering to launchers skins, as they do not to a total makeover like the menu's, diallers, and such.
I do not want to flash another rom since I don't want to delete anything.
If so, to what do I point to ? Mod's or theme's ?
Thanks in advance

Asked and answered your own question.
If you don't want to flash a new ROM, you will have to apply a new Theme.

Thanks ctomgee,
I know this is really noob, but I don't know the difference between a Mod or a theme or which is which..
And since I was having doubts and I do not want another ROM, I thought It would be wise to ask.
Thanks !

Mod is short for modification. (duh) Refers to anything that is changed from stock, really.
Theme (which technically is also a mod) refers to a whole set of framework, icon, color, and graphic changes. For example, there are themes out there that just change all the icons, etc. on Gingerbread, to look like ICS, without actually having ICS.
Of course, a theme still won't change your launcher... so you'll still have the TW launcher. Unless you install a third party launcher, like LauncherPro, GoLauncher, ADW, or other.
Gone removed because moved to a new site im making 1 more final rom before i leave

This ROM is an exact copy of my ROM Light Xperion.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/rom-light-xperion-rom-sony-xperia-z5-t3481749
I am totally not fine with someone stealing my work, adding a few files and then reproducing it as their own. I had spent hours together for porting the apps and making them stable and would i like it if someone just copies the apks in their rom without my permission? No he didn't ask my permission before using my files. Here are my observations to prove that its a remake of my rom:
1. Updater script is the same, no changes at all. Just changed rom information and different installation method.
2. My ported systemui.apk which took me so long to get it stable is present in this rom. Same app size and same date modified (Infact most of the apps have same date modified). My Systemui has glitches like widened icons. There are almost all my ported apps present.
3. I had simply added some apks without relevent folders in /app and /priv-app to make me recognize my work which is also there in rom.
Please close this thread.
