Hi everybody, Im kinda new on the android scene, and I am a bit of a n00b.
Ok heres my problem. Every reboot, my phone says "Android is upgrading" and seems to scan all my apps. It takes at least 3 Mins. I have a rooted HTC Desire X on Yes Optus (An australian telco). I think this has been caused as I flashed a zip of 4.2 GApps, and it turned out my all of my previous Nandroid backups were corrupt. Other than that I haven't modified or flashed anything else, excluding SuperUser. I would be very appreciative if someone could help me!

You should try to relock your bootloader and run the ruu...

And what about flashing a Rom
Your phone is building up dalvik cache every boot... Try going to recovery, wipe dalvik cache, reboot, let the Android is upgrading text to disappear reboot again... That should fix your problem...

Went into CWM 6.0.1.5, cleared the dalvik cache, rebooted and got android is upgrading, although it says underneath optimizing. Rebooted again (Myself), and it went back to what it was doing before . Thanks for the suggestion though, especially so quickly!

If I need a new rom, what would you reccomend. I love stock android, and I would like it if it was smooth, good battery life and had little problems/crashes/bugs. I know Cyannogen Mod isn't currently on the Desire X, but anything similar if possible. I would appreciate any suggestions,

Hi, might try out a new rom when I get some spare time, I have been having a look at Fulmix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2131511). What do you think? Thanks to all you guys on xda, you are so helpful and kind.

So ive finally stepped up My game and Bought an LTE and im in love but when i get an email and it has a link in it there BLACK AND I CAN NOT CLICK ON THEM ??? so i start Digging around and Some PEOPLE IN THE SUPER LTE ROM THREAD TRIED TO HELP BY SUGGESTING FRAPPLE but it did not do anything for me and i later found it was for ICS im on JB either way thanks alot man but ive since figured out that its only the links coming from here ??? all other emails and links work ??? for example if i get an email from ebay,craigslist,24hour fittness or any other source the links in the email are blue! but if i get one from XDA say an update to this thread and it says something like BLUETIGER769=( fictitious NAME just for example purposes ) HAS JUST REPLIED TO A THREAD YOU ARE SUBSCRIBED TO and then there is THE LINK WITH THE RESPONSE I CAN NOT CLICK ON IT AT ALL AND IT IS ALL BLACK ??? Sorry bro and thanks for the heads up but I dont know how to move it also I figured something's out as I have since flashed a Jeally Bean Rom and the Links light up blue and are totally working ? Its click and go know personally I still like GB but have finally excepted ICS and fell in love with it but the links will not work and it's a hassle to copy and paste every 5 minutes so someone help as I'm running ICS on my Evo3d and they work fine! What version of Gmail do you have on your 3d, and is it AOSP, or ICS w/Sense. And by the way, if I remember correctly, we couldn't copy and paste in GB Gmail, so there's a win and a loss in this situation.

Its always Sense Never ASOP and I don't know how to tell what gmail Version ? also on all my GB Roms it worked ??? ICS is when a couple Did not work but never partially as in this case it either worked or did not! now in my case the emails from everywhere else work and the Links are Blue and CLICKABLE but the emails coming from XDA are BLACK and I can not CLICK ON THEM ????? Please Advise
First of all, I stand corrrected. You CAN copy and paste in the GB version of Gmail. But that's besides the point.
I am not sure why the emails from XDA are UN-clickable. Have you tried uninstalling Gmail and reinstalling it?
Have you also tried backing up everything and doing a COMPLETE wipe? Or even test a different rom? Or a stock rom if you are using a custom rom?
Just trying everything that comes to mind...

I have tried all you have suggested! Even stock Rom and other customs the only thing I have not tried is removing and reinstalling also the Rom I'm on now works fine I just don't want to be stuck with it thanks Rom I'm on now is Super Jelly

tried the frapple and still no go bro i even went back to stock ruu still no but the funny thing is when i get emails from anywhere else or i get them on my 3D they are blue i click and go ??? i dont get it as i like the Super Jelly Rom but im flash SICK i need other Roms or i get bored but i hate having to cut and paste! butt just for ****s and grins this is what i did with frapple i went to recovery wiped dalvik and cache and flashed i seen no changes even after 3 restarts so i flash a back up let it boot made sure was all good then i went to recovery and flashed frapple but this time i did no wipes and i still get the same results nothing LINK STILL BLACKED out and it really is a 100% from XDA as if i get one from old navy or some other entity they are blue ??? i can post Screenies if you help me as i dont know how
This was happening to me as well but recently decided to check after installing latest Meanbean update and everything works, I think it might have something to do with either a mod I flashed or pimp my Rom

thanks for the response i will try the mean bean update but my question is whether it works or not i dont want to be stuck with 2 Roms to choose from as im there now as i can only use Super Jelly and its nice but i love to flash on the daily so ill try it but do you have any other possible fixes as i am taking and follow everyone's advise but nothing is working! and as far as Pimp My Phone i never Heard of it ??? PLEAS ADVISE
What other mods have you maybe done? Have you tried going to settings..apps..and reset defaults?

Also what you could do is do a full Nandroid backup, make sure it saves to your external sd though, then do a full wipe, and flash in MeanBean. You could even then after flashing the Rom let it boot in normal, then see if you can open links.

thanks but i have got mean bean to flash 1 time thats it not sure but i can only flash a few roms the others just say failed ??? i think its a firmware issue but i have not upgraded cause im not sure if i can go back ??? either way i have done it all and i always run the Roms the way they came out the box and then when everything is good i tweak thanks Please Advise

Yes with MeanBean you would have to update the firmware, but it is well worth it. As far as going back after you've flashed the firmware... well I was able to flash in a non JB rom just fine afterwards. The best part of MeanBean Rom, taking into account your issue, is that FAPPLE is built into the rom as well as just about every other thing you could think of!

Hi all,
I have unbranded version of htc version and its came with preloaded T-MOBILE ICS 4.0.3.
i have done s-off and unlocked bootloader to port nightmare sense 1.6.
Flashed a 4EXT recovery also.
When i have flashed Nightmare sense 1.6 via 4EXT, my phone stuck at Blue HTC Logo and vibrating every 5 seconds.
i have waited at least 15 minutes but no result.
Before i have flashed i have done , wipe cache,wipe delvik cache etc..
Bootloader version : 1.92.0002
Please Some one guide , is there anything i am missing ??

Install version 1.1 and stay in recovery, don't wipe anything and then, install version 1.6 over 1.1... It worked perfect for me! I had the same problem two days ago!

First off, are you positive it was on ics (4.0+)? Sounds like a common problem that happens when people try flashing a custom ics rom straight from GB. If it is for sure already on ICS, then it sounds like the kernel isnt flashing, which would be odd since you say you are s-off.
Did u try flashing another rom? You should always try flashing a different rom just to make sure if its something wrong with that specific rom or if something else is going on.
Hopefully its just something weird with the rom that doing what the guy above me said to do, will fix it

Yes, ics is pre installed when i have bought a phone. its 4.0.3 rom from t mobile.
Stuck on htc logo but still i can boot into recovery.
one strange thing is that when phone came, bootloader marked as "Locked" but still i was able to use all sim cards.

No. Dont do that.
There is a video on the op for that rom for a how to install guide. Follow it to a T. If that doesnt work then install a different rom.

Dear all!
My HTC rezound meet the trouble with camera issue. Before when I buy it from ebay, every thing is ok. But after I Do Soff and flash ROM, the camera can not you. It's suddenly stop ater less than 1s when I touch. Only black screen. I found and did the trick. Use the finger to cover on 2 camera and start it but nothing happen.
And still the other trouble , my HTC rezound not access to the SDcard storage. That's strange,because I can access to my SDcard on Recovery mode to flash ROM
I think maybe It's met the trouble with the Stock ROM. Even I flash the RUU rom but can not fix.
Any people can help me!

First use a stock bases like cm 10 and try to re format ad card and see how it go's

I don't know about the camera issue, but there's a thread with a camera you van try flashing:

Although if you are having trouble after running the RUU it may be a hardware based problem.

After the root we put a new ROM on it and after the procedure done successfully it seams that the Dialer-Phone and Contacts app are gone from the who system.I can see "Phone" in Manage Apps.I installed a dialer from the market and when I try to run it , it stops...
I have searched the whole internet to find solution but I didn't find nothing.
Any suggestions from you guys ?

Did you try to flash the ROM 2-3 times?

Reflash the ROM. You might need to do it a few times. They'll appear eventually. It's a bug with the installer.

I assume you flashed Half-Sense or xPirt. Flash it a couple more times.

Yeah , I'm dealing with Half~Sense...
So about a minutes before I flashed the stock Desire X rom and the apps were there working and now flashing the Half~Sense again but I have a question , should I select Full Wipe after the first flash ?

Lol.. I don't know why I thanked you...
Anyways, did you try selecting any launcher other than trebuchet, like Holo? It should work. Once you get the contact and dialer apps, try re flashing without full wipe, you may choose trebuchet this time.

bad luck, just try to flash it several more times... it has apper at some point with any launcher (my record was 7 flashes before it was there)
ive been flashing quite a lot of roms and recently there has been a problem in the gallery app that persists even when changing roms. ive tried wiping everything and reflashing the rom from scratch but it wont go away. ive wiped the cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, data, system, and android secure. are there any more partitions that i should be wiping? and if not are there files that are corrupted on my phone? im currently running on ViperXL 3.2.6 and elementalx 5.4 on the htc one xl hboot 1.14 s-off twrp 2.3.1.0

my bad I should have included that. it isn't anything major but it's somewhat irritating since I change wallpapers frequently. basically the arrows are misaligned when changing wallpapers here are some screenshots

Have you checked with other that have installed with this rom?
Just go back to your backup if it still messes with your gallery app.

Maybe can you post your problem in the topic concerning your ROM.
It's possible that the developper knows something about it.

I just restored my backup and the problem still persists.. I've checked the developer thread and no one else seems to have this problem
