Easiest way is to download the stock galaxy s3 rom, unzip it, and extract any file you want. Make a folder called "audio", or something similar to copy the files to.
I shall try that. Seems simple enough.

actually having a hard time getting it. all the DL's are not like ours. nor folders. but ext4 files

Hi XDA:
I still have the Avatar movie on external sd card, pushed the avatar.apk file to /system/apps, and made sure the proper movie sub directory was copied from an old back up to my internal sd card under the sd card directory. Still getting ' file not found' when click Avatar icon. I can watch the movie using the video player and I'm sure this is something small that I've forgotten, and I researched other threads regarding this issue but cannot find an answer. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I'm currently running Nero v3. Cheers.

Same issue. I was never able to figure it out so I just use the video player to launch it.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would really be appreciated. I am selling one of my Vibrants as I've just purchased a Nexus S and I'm trying to get this working for them before I ship it. Thanks again

This has to do with the different ways 2.1 and 2.2 name the external sd card - 2.1 calls it "sd" or "sdcard" (can't remember...been a while since 2.1), while 2.2 calls it "external_sd." So, you need the Avatar apk that has the correct name in the movie filepath.
The attached apk's should solve your problem. If you are running a 2.2 rom, then use the one I attached named "Avatar_22." Push it to your system/app just like you were doing before.
Disclaimer: I did not make the 2.2 compatible Avatar shortcut. I had this same issue and found it somewhere on this site, but figured I'd just share the apk instead of trying to search out the original source. If this makes someone mad, let me know and I'll give the proper credit or remove it - whichever you prefer.
Awesome.. Exactly what I needed and I'll give it a whirl once I arrive home from work. Thanks.

Worked perfectly already tested it here. Thanks so much, I'll +1 to your thanks meter once I can get to my home computer. Cheers.

You're welcome. Glad it worked for you.
Thank you. That fixed my issue too.

I currently created a rom thats a mix of two roms put together and tweaked to my liking and battery life. I dont plan on distributing it because its not my work but i would like to make it into a .zip in case anything happens. How would I go about doing so? I tried fruit cake but it didnt seem to work at all. The two roms I have combined are iscrewed and turkbey.

Look at how the updater-script of various ROMs you use is written - that's the main thing you might need to change.

You can download my ROM and just delete my system folder and add yours. Do same for all files. Most of my roms use data for install off apps.. If you don't want that you have to delete data lines in updater script. Make sure you use NotePad++ not regular NotePad to edit scripts. Then sign zip.. If not know how just put zip on your phone and use signapktik app in market. If you already have turkbey or other ROM zip... Just do the same with there's

Signing is not necessary if you are using a base zip that already has one.

I'm just going to use a base.zip and then put my system files into that one and see how it works. Worse case scenario I'll use my jig

Sometimes it breaks the signature, sometimes it doesn't when changing files.

Don't know what you have seen but I have used tons of basic zip files to work with. Never messed anything up. Especially since you don't need signed zips with cwm.

It doesn't always happen, but I've had it happen lots of times when moving big amounts of data like a whole system file.
Either way not worth arguing about.
Just giving a helpful answer for all scenarios.

Is anyone using Google Now to good effect on Ice Cream Sandwich?
I've had a little search around (on the XDA app which is an experience in itself...) and ended up trying to flash a zip onto Omega v13.1 but to no avail. I don't know if I'm making a glaringly obvious mistake though.
Anyone able/care to share their own results?
Ta

My Galaxy S III is running XXDLI7, so it's already got Google Now on it. However, my Note, Note 10.1, and One X are all still running ICS. I've put Google Now on all of them and had fantastic results. However, I didn't flash the package with CWM. I extracted the *.zip and copied over all of the files and directories manually. That way I can make sure all of the files and directories have the correct permissions set. For example, when I flashed the package in TWRP on my One X, every file and directory flashed had it's permissions set to 033 (--- -wx -wx) for some weird-ass reason. Because of this funky glitch, I had to go back and manually set the permissions for every single file and directory. So when it came time to put Google Now on my Note and Note 10.1, I just did it manually. Went smooth as butter!

Thanks mate
Seems it's definitely possible but not using the apk. method that I used.
I'm not ready to delve into the realms of manually inputting stuff yet so I guess it's time to do some reading to find out what it's all about.
Cheers

Here are some apks that change the icons on your home screen and your app drawer.
Thanks to Pfaffinator for the icons.
1 go to system/ app and copy your entire app file then place it on an sd card for backup if you want to revert back to your original icons.
2 copy these new apks to system/ app. Your phone will ask if you want to replace your old apk with the new one...tap yes then profit.
3 I do not know how to make a zip file yet as I am still learning.
4 I will add more as I theme more icons.
5 DISLAIMER : I am not responsible for your phone if something goes wrong.
Here are some screen shots

If you flash super Jelly, use the super Jelly updater to download a blank zip. You then use an archive manager like 7zip or winrar to place the apk's in the system/app folder. I think it has to be signed for JB, not sure how to do that tho.
Thanks for sharing tho. If these are someone else's work can you give them credit? If this is your work, nice job!
Edit: saw you said you were theming the icons. Sorry if I offended by suggesting this was another person's work

Sorry my mistake. I didn't make the icons. I put them in the apks to use with our phones. Thank you for making me aware that I needed to do that.

Pull the apks modified. Either adb pull system > w/e.apk. or do it via phone via a root powered file explore. Place the apks on your sdcard. Mount the device place on your computer. That download a theme or a mod zip. And archive into that make your changes etc flash to test then release as a theme. Message me about if you already haven't ill get to you as soon as I can.

Did it force close once or does it work correctly now? If it doesn't work correctly and you made a backup on your SD card of your original APks you can just pull the NFC apk only and put it back in system app.

I downloaded a couple of third party skins to my phone and they aren't showing up in my skins. I guess they weren't made for my unrooted phone. I tried to find them in a astro file manager. But can't find them. I'm not real good with digging around in my phones brain. Please help

You're trying to uninstall them now? You should be able to with titanium backup...

Create a Skins folder in astro and move the skins there once they are there press one and it should ask you if you want to install once installed it should show up in the settings/personalize/skins
Thanks for your help. I actually found the skins in my downloaded folder in astro but in sd card 2 what ever the hell means. I started a new folder labeled "skins" and put the good ones in there and deleted the bad ones.
